    Food and service were wonderful. It was a little difficult to hear because of the noise level. It is a reliable go to place. In better weather I recommend sitting outside. It is very pleasant and the noise level is perfect.

    We came with friends a couple of days after Thanksgiving. We ordered the swordfish and the pork chop. It was very quiet in the restaurant and it was easy to converse with everyone at the table. Our meals were cooked to perfection, very flavorful and came out all at once. We enjoyed every bite and ate everything on our plates. We had no room for dessert or coffee, but it was so good! It was a delightful meal with our dear friends and we had a wonderful time. Service was excellent. Our server left halfway through our dinner and introduced us to the person who would be taking over. It was a very graceful act and we appreciated it. Both servers were excellent. Thanks for a lovely post- Thanksgiving feast that involved no effort on my part!

    I’m not sure it’s totally fair to rate a restaurant based on Thanksgiving dinner. I’ve been to Harvest many times before and enjoyed it. In general, for Thanksgiving, I’d say the least Thanksgiving-ish things were best - crabcakes, smoked mackerel dip, and shrimp cocktail. The Thanksgiving-ish things were super bland and too sweet - pork chops, duck pate. And the “apple pie” was a very disappointing pile of spiced whipped cream on a cookie with a smear of apple compote in between. Excellent wine pairings, however.

    Another wonderful Thanksgiving meal, with enough turkey for three dinners, two generous slices of white meat, and another of dark, with mashed potatoes, Brussel sprouts, and some kind of root vegetable. We also split six delicious, unbelievable Maine oysters from Damariscotta. I had apple and walnut salad with an incredible dressing. Unusual apple pie for dessert, different, but tasty. Washed down with two glasses of wine and a cappuccino. A quiet table as requested. Isaac is a great server. Harvest never fails.

    Thoughtful and beautifully curated menu, and excellent service. The ambiance was perfect - with the outdoor space and the fireplace going, it made for a beautiful night. The waiter went at our pace and did not try to rush us, but instead focused on making it a great night.

    harvest has been my favorite restaurant on the square for decades. in the mid-late teens, however, it was a great deal better than it is now. besides somewhat 'fancier' but less satisfying food, portions have declined radically as prices have increased radically. food examples: 1) the clam and whitefish chowder is NOT a chowder, it is a miniscule portion of fish-flavored cream, with two clams in the shell, one in the cream and barely a wisp of whitefish. indeed, there was far more bacon than anything else in this 'chowder.' it actually tasted good, but is completely misrepresented, and again, the portion is just ridiculous. 2) the lobster roll now costs $42 and has more non-lobster flavors in it than it did a year ago, and the lobster is cut into small pieces, which is not pleasing; lobster salad rather than what one expects with a lobster roll. the house potato chips were on the verge of too dark to enjoy. if you want a sandwich, go with their likewise very expensive burger, but it's good and a whole lot cheaper than the lobster roll. if you want a great lobster roll, go to neptune oyster in the north end. 3) the bananas foster cheesecake dessert was outstanding. also quite small, but so full of all the right flavors that this went more or less unnoticed. service examples: 1) good front of the house 2) untrained waiters who do not LOOK around the room to see if any customer needs something. my soup spoon was dirty (the quality of the flatware is an insult at these prices). it took me literally 5 minutes to get the attention of a server, any server, even to the point of waving my arms, and then the server who brought the replacement didn't know how to deliver it to the table, stretching out an arm, leaving me to grab it by the bowl. 3) our friendly waiter did not know what an espresso (caffè) macchiato is, as opposed to a latte macchiato. i had to explain how to make it, which he at least, to his credit, managed to do correctly.

    This was our anniversary dinner. We alerted Harvest of the special event and asked to be seated next to the outdoor fireplace ... since the night was cold. Harvest delivered perfectly. Julia, our server, wished us a happy anniversary and our dessert came with a beautiful script repetition of that greeting on the plate. I had by far the best swordfish entree I've ever had, a 2 inch thick slab of perfectly prepared fish, moist and delicious throughout. We had many questions, and Julia got us the exact information we needed. My wife's cold meant she needed very hot water for tea to comfort her throat and head. The hot water was perfect and just kept coming. Everything was delightful and made our anniversary celebration even better as we warmed ourselves by the bright fire and with the help of the overhead heater, as well!

    We have dined at Harvest several times although we live in CT. Every meal has been excellent. The menu and cocktail selection do change which can be unsettling cause I love their cauliflower hummus . Although fish is heavy on their menu the restaurant never smells of fish. All seafood gives me horrible stomach ache so I know when you have shared a pan with seafood . Tips on dining here: the restaurant is a few steps down the alley off Brattle. Pedestrians are abundant along with buses and lanes that change to turning lanes only. Add 15 minutes to your arrival to get settled. Street parking is rare so a parking garage chosen ahead works.

    This was a lunch with a friend who has been having a hard time. The roaring fire next to her and the warm heat lamp above combined to make her feel quite a bit more cheerful. We have wonderful salads that could not have been better. Our server, Alex, was outstanding in being attentive, informative, and helpful. We enjoy every interaction with her. My friend commented that she would be sure to bring other friends here to enjoy the same table.

    This was a birthday luncheon. We wanted to eat outdoors and due to the cold Harvest is one of the few places where you can indulge and not freeze. They have wonderful overhead heaters and a roaring fireplace. The fall menu was terrific. We both enjoyed great squash soup nicely garnished and mushroom crepes that were extremely rich and tasty. I started with a glass of bubbly and ended with a nice cappuccino. Francisco was our server, and he was terrific. It was one of the best times we have had at Harvest over the 40 years we have been eating there.

    Great dinner out on the patio with heaters available. Service was good and the food was great. I would return for a special occasion. The food was cook just perfect.

    Squash blossom app was delightful. The swordfish was light and flavorful. I’ve never had swordfish so tender. A very memorable evening!

    Although we had reservations we ended up waiting for 40 minutes. Our table was not ready and we had to wait on the doorway to the lavatory with all our guests. So we had a bad start. The food was decent but not great.

    Absolutely INCREDIBLE! We attended the All Hallows Eve feast and it was beyond amazing. Very unique menu, extremely delicious! We enjoyed every second of the experience! We hope Harvest will continue to host dinners like these; we’ll be there!

    Great food — both the squash blossom appetizer and the swordfish were superb. Have dined at Harvest many times over the years and have never been disappointed! Casually elegant atmosphere and always the freshest seasonal local ingredients!

    We planned a special birthday dinner cerebration and chose Harvest due to its central location in Cambridge and great reputation. We had enjoyed this restaurant many years ago. We are happy to say that the dinner was excellent and we made a very good choice for our family celebration.

    Knowledgeable server who kept up on a busy night. Cozy atmosphere. Food was good but not fantastic. I had the lobster spaghetti which was a little heavy on the sauce with bacon but light on the succotash. The outdoor space looks very pleasant but we sat inside as it was a cool night. Great location right in Harvard Square on a side alley of an office building. Nice spot to meet up with friends.
