Very loud, as cement floors and high ceilings sound travels.
Food was very tasty and had great spice, although dont recall Cuban food being that tasteful, as it was very bland when I visited Cuba and no spice on anything but such Is case with most ethic food places in Vancouver, the food here is much better than its actual origin.
The service was, as always, amazing.
The menu was interesting, yummy & lots of veg options. Drinks were awesome.
Theatre-going: great spot for before or after because they are good with their timing HOWEVER despite the fact that we told our waitress we were on our way to the Cultch, we did not get a discount of our meals.
We found out, when we were at the Cultch that they are a partner who does 15% discounts before & after the show with your show tickets.
We went back after & asked the manager about it... She said there was nothing she could do and would not even discount after show drinks.
So that was a luttle disappointing and odd:
Food great, wait service great - maybe manager doesn't feel repeat show guest business is worthwhile.
Great food as usual. Some of the people at my table hadn’t been to Havana before and they were absolutely thrilled with the food. Our server was lovely- attentive, explained each dish, kept our water glasses full and the food came out at a good pace.
Fun,relaxed atmosphere and friendly warm service. The mojitos were tasty but I found that the dishes we ordered were a bit bland. Much like had experienced on a trip to Cuba.
I've been to Havana many times before. It appears the menu has changed and the food choices and the quality of the food was very poor this time. I had the chicken curry which had very very little chicken and was just hot, not flavourable.
The food was ok and service was excellent. A nice patio for an afternoon snack and drink (Happy hour)!
Great meals, fun atmosphere and wonderful service. Can’t go wrong!
Parents night out!
Good restaurant. Good food.
It's always a good place for friends to hang out, all the dish is good to share. The signature sangria is always great! Havana changed their menu, so many things want to try
Nice authentic feel and the food was excellent. Will be back again soon I hope.
I used to love this place. Food used to be amazing and that's why I brought my friends from out of town there . Extremely disappointed this time. Not sure if they have a new chef or what but in general food is below average. One of the things we ordered was roasted cauliflower and it was literally just boiled cauliflower with a few brown spots probably made with a torch. This was a gem in my opinion but not any more.
The hostess resolved a mix up with the name on our reservation. Great service, and much appreciated!
Decent decor but too loud. Couple in corner booth had 2 kids screaming almost non stop. Food was good but portions were small. Had a difficult time carrying on a conversation.
Our salad was creative and delicious. My hamburger with chorizo had a strange yet acceptable flavour it was okay - the bun was good though.
Both the food and service were very good. The only drawback for us was that it was EXTREMELY noisy, hard to have a conversation.
Very basic. Nothing special, but acceptable.
Had a great experience at Havana. Food was fresh and delicious. Service was awesome. Our server, Carla was great! The restaurant is spacious and comfortable. Will be going back for happy hour on the patio!
Good food but a little overpriced. It was packed so it was great we had a reservation 😉 Going back for the patio and margaritas in the summer! Great drinks all around.
I made a reservation for my birthday this past weekend and showed up a bit late. The hostess was able to hold our table (we called on the way) AND was able to accommodate 5 more people as we had some unexpected people join us. We had Jamie as a server and she was FANTASTIC! For a large table of 10-12 ordering appies, drinks and entrees, I am grateful we had her! The food was phenomenal (paella, mussels, 7 layer dip, garlic fries, jambalaya...), the drinks were brilliant (sangria and mojito pitchers especially) and the ambiance, as always, was perfect. Love it here!
Havana is my all time favourite place to go for breakfast. Best food and service out there. Thank you guys so much!
A nice Valentine’s Day dinner
Food was delicious; Staff was very friendly and attentive. I would definitely recommend the place.
We went to Havana's for my husbands bday, was extremely fun! we had a great waiter that didn't rush us, we were there before a play and had lots of time to kill... I ordered the mussels OMG so yummy, along with some corn bread. My husband had the Jambalaya and he ate every last bit of it ! I highly recommend the mojitos! I asked for it light on the sugar and they were delicious. We shared the crème Brule for dessert and was also fantastic. I will be going there again ... FOR SURE!
We had the enchiladas and it was excellent. The happy hour menu is also great. Overall great service, solid food and good value. Three with beer and an appy went for around 80 bucks which is pretty reasonable.
First time at this place with my wife and adult kids! Our waitress was great. She recommended the paella which I got and loved. I will definitely be back again with more friends and family
So enjoyed our dining experience. I booked there as we were going to the theatre. Knew nothing about restaurant so was very happy the restaurant was so great. Vegan options available for a couple at our table. Food was great..dessert was fabulous. Our waitress was lovely. Will definitely recommend and come back again. Thank you.
Great Cubano. Waitress was a little quick to take our apps and drinks before they were done.
We very much enjoyed our dinner at Havana. The only complaint is that we felt a little rushed: we had were there early in order to get to a show after dinner. Wine was poured and we'd barely had time to breathe before all of the food arrived - appetizers and mains at the same time. It was clear that they wanted the table. The food was delicious and service very good. Would have liked the opportunity to linger!
Excellent service. Group of 5 went before show at York theatre. Appreciated 15 percent off.
Great ambiance, good food
Carla made our pre-theatre dining experience laudable, ably assisted by her Aussie colleague. Super friendly staff who work together as a team to get food out hot and fresh. Lots of vegetarian choices, authentic nibbles, and shareable plates. Careful- some dishes have a bit of spice, including the fries. Unpretentiously presented plates, and even better value if you have tickets to the Cultch for that date. The Apple-pear upside down dessert combined pure perfection of flavours! Sunny days make for lazy patio dining with pitchers of sangria or beer...
Great food and atmosphere. Enjoyed my fish tacos and loved the chips and salsa.
The seafood bouillabase was not flavorful and for 20.00 there was not much going on. I was very disappointed. Did not say anything . No salt and pepper on the table. I got more bread than seafood...... for 20.00.
A bit frantic upon entry but staff were friendly and service oriented, noisy environment which quietened as we were there. Quaint decor, fast food service, friendly patrons, good food. Good discounts for Happy Hour and possible el fresco dining depending upon weather. Went for pre-theatre dinner before Christmas.
