Located in the heart of Gramercy in the restored Assembly Hall of the landmarked United Charities Building, Hawksmoor is a steak restaurant that celebrates all-natural, pasture-reared, and traditionally dry-aged beef. Our beef is seasoned simply with sea salt and cooked over live-fire charcoal. Our seafood is locally and sustainably sourced from northeastern waters and we use small-farm produce whenever possible. On Sunday afternoons Hawksmoor keeps with the tried-and-true British tradition and features a Sunday Roast.

Completing our offerings are award-winning cocktails, including New York City's coldest martini, and a carefully curated wine selection. The restaurant houses 150 in the dining room and 35 in the bar area. There are also two private dining rooms that can hold 12 people and serve exclusive, family-style menus.

Our initial greeting was lovely, I was addressed by my name and it was so refreshing and we were seated in the main dining room. My cocktail was phenomenal, I can’t say enough. I wanted a third and a fourth. We had the scotch bonnet oysters that were TDF. We were even raving about the Caesar salad. I ordered the lobster roll and the hubby had the steak frite. Our plates were cleaned off. I’m saving my $$$ for a beautiful dinner.

Having been here before more than once I’m still impressed. Great service, great food. Not only the steaks, which are awesome, but also the sides deliver. And the deserts alone are reason enough to come back again. We had another enjoyable evening.

Hawksmoor was lovely. What a beautiful space! My partner and I were treated so well by everyone, but our server Rob went above and beyond. He was so gracious and hospitable, and the restaurant is lucky to have him. I was really surprised to see how good the value was, and the wine list was smartly curated without being unattainably expensive. Everything we ate was extremely well-prepared to boot.

Everything was fantastic. Only ding is that our server wasn’t very warm or explanatory, and they ran out of potatoes. Who runs out of potatoes at a steakhouse? Send someone to the supermarket!

Friendly greeting. Ridiculously small martini (2 oz pour is not okay) at bar. Nice main dining room however, too many hoodies and ripped jeans to count (so NOT ok in Hawksmoor London!) First “Sommelier” visited us although we sighted her qualifications. We asked for 2 bottles that were on the menu at under $100 price point each. We were told they were out, and she then offered us a 600 bottle option (no thanks). Second Sommelier was lovely and “miraculously” found one of the original affordable bottles we asked for. Waitstaff and steaks were very good however, the mood was dampened by the Uber casual hoodies and atmosphere. Having been to Hawksmoor in London, this is a poor stepchild to the Flagship

Choose Hawksmoor for our last night in NYC....unfortunately the hype was a let down and a forgettable experience. The Good: The ambiance, Mac n cheese, Peanut Butter Louie, waiter and chef were very accommodating with a request from my youngest. We tried the marrow oysters, they were good but very small. Our daughters had filets and were unimpressed. The bone Marrow was good, and as others have said the gravy with the marrow was very good. The come as you are dress code was unique and refreshing. Seams different for the staff, but you could see the staff expressing themselves with their attire. The Bad: My Wife had the lobster, it's grilled and was drenched in garlic where it had to be sent back as it was completely over powered by the excessive garlic. Skip the Fries they are undercooked and mushy as well as a small portion for $10.00. I got the ribeye...only thing I can say was, it was not good. It was thin as well as tuff(hard to do with a ribeye). I have had better from Costco on multiple occasions. We were here for early dinner service and by the time we left it was busy so I hope they succeed but if you are wanting a steakhouse go to Rocco's! We had it earlier in the week and it was excellent in every way!

Food was okay. Got the pre fix lunch. Apps were good. The rump steak was okay. A little disappointed on the steak overall. It was cooked nicely and medium rare. Just kind of tough. Probably wouldn’t get it again. The desserts weren’t that great. Also the drinks weren’t worth it. I got the signature sour Cherry Negroni. As a big Negroni person, very sad with the drink. It was very identical to Cherry cough syrup which wasn’t what I was in the mood for. But service was good and the food was overall fine. Wasn’t sold on coming back though or recommending, at least for lunch. Could be worth it if ya got money to spend on the nice steaks probably. If you’re on a budget, would recommend somewhere else. Was just missing the love factor.

Exceptional food in a truly unique setting. It is definitely on the pricier side but for a special occasion or a real treat it's worth it. We shared the chateaubriand - perfection. The bar is also a great spot to stop in for a drink especially if you're looking for a bar tender who knows their craft. It was our second time, we'll be back.

In my opinion one of the highest quality and affordable place i've been to in NYC. There are a lot steakhouses in NYC, but not too many have the atmosphere and quality of food and service like Hawkmoors. Will recommend this place to anybody for any occasion. The mood and atmosphere is perfect. The food was delicious and the staff were friendly and efficient.

Excellent service from the bar to the dining room. Luis our server was especially great - knowledgeable, fun, anticipated every need. Cocktails were spot on, especially the vesper and full fat old fashion. Love the sticky toffee pudding. Really lovely night.

Great food that will leave you feeling well-fed. And the drinks are fantastic. As wonderful as their house specialties are, it's the quality of their execution of the classics (martinis, vespers, etc.) that's truly top of the game. And all of it is delivered via wonderful service, even if you're "just" in the bar (and doing a special offer to boot). Always leave here feeling good!

We had excellent service and cocktails and enjoyed a bitter leaf salad (beautifully presented) and bone barrow for the carnivore among us. The aesthetics of the space are incredible, as well. But we were disappointed that the restaurant had run out of the signature vegetarian dish (the dish that the vegetarian among us had come to try) with no reasonable substitutions or accommodations offered.

Terrible service ordered my steak medium came out well done waiter left us for the whole night after taking our order and never came back I had to ask multiple other waiters for the check was left with empty plates in front of us for 30 minutes would not recommend unfortunately
