Hearth Restaurant - The Ritz-Carlton, Perth
Amazing experience! The Hearth definitely showcases the best of WA!
Magnificent food in a magnificent building but no ambiance at all. Hearth restaurant is on the ground floor opening onto the footpath with the ambiance of a staff cafeteria. There is no view - strange for such a location?? Why not have a fine dining restaurant on the top floor with panoramic river views???
We had to wait to be seated. After waiting 5 minutes I had to find someone to give us a menu and water. The table seated after us was served before us.
My fish was inedible - dry and over-cooked.
The dessert was no more than a bowl of cut up cubed jelly with a scoop of ice cream on top.
This was at lunch time on Tuesday when the restaurant had barely any patrons.
A very bad experience.
Very limited wine list & food choice but enjoyed most of what we chose. The ambience would be better if the white blockout blinds were up to enjoy the view.
All service was exceptional. The lamb was cooked to perfection and the bread was devine. Good use of local produce. I would have enjoyed the blinds being opened when the sun went down to enjoy the outside view. I think this would have also added to the ambience.
Great service - outstanding waiters and waitresses!
Would rank food at Wildflower Perth level. Pork was a stand out!
Fantastic deal with first bread roll $3 and every one after complimentary!
The most amazing dining experience. Everything was exceptional. So nice to see a menu and wine list that is based on western Australian produce.
I can’t wait to visit again.
As it was our first visit for lunch at the Hearth Restaurant my guests and I were very impressed how the main course dishes were presented and the favour the the chef managed to achieve by mixing the different ingredients together.
It was a pleasure to be greeted by the Restaurant Manager at the door when we arrived at the Restaurant and the wait staff were very efficent and precise in explaining the dishes on the lunch menu to us.
entrée was fantastic however the main was salty and grass-fed beef was not cooked to a high standard.
Service was amazing! Thank you.
Amazing dinner. Great atmosphere, service and food. Could not fault it. Great for a special occasion dinner. Only criticism was the dining room was a little cold.
Amazing experience! Food is out of this world. Highly recommended.
Disappointed with the service upon being seated. Simple questions were responded to with unnecessary attitude. However the food itself was of exceptional standard. Hot food, on hot plates. my starter - the Marron was cooked to perfection, wasn’t chewy which most restaurants get wrong. My main, the lamb, Was the perfect medium rare however I wasn’t asked what cook I’d like on the lamb. What if I preferred a different kind of temperature on it? Just saying. I had a salad with kale in it, absolutely amazing.
Hendricks gin and tonic was to die for, the ambience was breathtaking, silverware, sparkling clean.
And love the attention to detail the wait staff had when it came to explaining the menu and brief history about the restaurant.
Would’ve loved a minty on the way out but oh well. It was great
Beautiful food, perfectly plated, with flavours that felt quintessentially Western Australian. Loved the warm, relaxed service and clean, elegant vibe. Wonderful for a special occasion!
There was three of us dining we found the table to be comfortable with a nice view of Elizabeth Quay. The menu while limited was well executed with a good selection of all the main dishes looked for on the menu. All the foods we are local and fresh and thoughtfully put together I enjoyed the Marron very much and the kitchen was happy to accommodate my dietary needs it will be lovely to see non-dairy deserts in the offering but for the main part our experience was faultless
Beautiful restaurant, amazing food & service & were very accommodating with our children!
Great setting and delicious Australian food, thoroughly recommend.
Nice decor and surroundings. The food is well presented and delicious. Attentive staff, overall very nice meal.
We loved our Christmas Lunch! The food was spectacular. There were some staff teething problems; not understanding the menu, forgetting things, not aware of what was in the dishes. Overall though staff were really lovely, helpful and doing their best. The wait between meals was long and we understand that was most likely due to the volume of dishes and the first 5 course menu at the venue. We have recommeneded Hearth and cant wait to come back again to try more! Thanks again. Rhonnie
We thoroughly enjoyed our Christmas eve lunch at Hearth. The menu concept and wine list were sensational and we felt that we were being taken on a journey throughout WA.
Outstanding food and quality service. We will be back 👌🏼
Don't go to Hearth expecting fine dining or a water view. The ambiance and interior design is more suited to café style - it is not refined and is noisy and bustling. The food is certainly beautifully presented however pedestrian in content, and the service is painfully slow (2 hours to get our main course). It's not up to the hype and will need to make major improvements before I will return.
Service in lobby bar was slow and staff had to be waved down for drinks orders. It felt somewhat understaffed as a result. In the restaurant the staff were making an effort, but seemed quite young and underconfident for this sort of establishment, though they did make an effort to explain the dishes. Food was nice enough, but didn't blow my hair back in any way. The fixtures and fittings all seem to be of reasonable quality, but not completely five star. The floor in the hotel lobby seems to be warped as it felt strangely wobbly to walk over in some parts? Toilet facilities off the lobby bar and restaurant are bizarre, there is just one ladies toilet which has only one door lock to the outside corridor and no interior door on the toilet area (it's an open plan washbasin and toilet). I felt very insecure about the door definitely being locked while I went about my business! Overall quite a strange and unexpectedly underwhelming experience.
We celebrated my Mum's 74th birthday at Hearth and the staff from when she arrived to when we left were super attentive and looked after her very well. Our waitress was delightful, helpful and well informed but not intrusive. Whilst the menu choices were limited which concerned us at first, as older people like simple fare (sometimes) the food was AMAZING and the serving sizes just right. I loved it andmy whole family very much enjoyed the lunch experience.
PS we went for breakfast the next day and whilst the service is a bit slow the food and staff are LOVELY. We will be back in 2020!
Everything was exceptional, except the mains were lukewarm - and the restaurant was not even that busy (i.e. it appeared that the customer-to-staff ratio was about 1:1 at that time), even if it were busy, this is not a reason to serve mains at near room temperature, especially when it is $40+ per item.
Four of us enjoyed a really lovely evening at the new Hearth Restaurant. The service was wonderful and the food fantastic! Some new taste experiences - would very much recommend!
Loved this new spot in Perth
Very tasty take on WA produce .
Good feed too and not miniscule portions compared to other fancy restaurants
Nice experience but the staff seemed to be learning and food was a bit over spiced
Lacklustre, beige (literally, its all beige and white) and careless. No real identity. Tourist trade will keep it alive I suppose, mainly seems designed for hotel guests on expense accounts paying with nobody's money.
Wine list is bland and limited. Even so, the first wine we chose, Pierro Reserve Cab Merlot was not available.
When the second choice wine arrived (20 minutes later) it was far too warm. Moss Wood cabernet felt like it had been standing in the sun. Had to ask for it to be decanted.
My glass had smudges on it.
The menu is remarkably limited. My companion kept turning the menu over to check if he wasn't missing something. Took another 20 minutes to take food orders.
Expensive. Lunch for 2, with no entree, one shared desert, one bottle of wine, one side of lettuce (the only side on offer) was best part of $480. Steak at $180 (2 person T-bone) was OK but bewilderingly overpriced. Didn't order entrees as the menu promised the steak was 1kg. Which I suppose it was, if you include the bone and disarmingly large quantity of fatty gristle left on the side of our plates.
At this level, and this price range, there is little room for anything less than perfect, and this was quite far from it.
The bread and butter was good though.
If I am generous, its just teething problems, but its been open for a month and these feel like systemic problems and absent management. Am very unlikely to ever go back to check if they have improved.
We had a wonderful evening at Hearth. The setting and the decor was beautiful, we could hear each other as the volume and ambience is very pleasant, and the food and service was exceptional. I shall be bringing more people here again soon. Thank you!
Simply brilliant. Best me and venue I have been to for a while.
Staff very attentive
Even with its location in the Ritz good value...Como take some notes
Bar upstairs really good and the seperate areas are genius
Don’t get carried away with yourself and up the prices and you will get repeat customers time and time again
Have already recommended the Hearth Restaurant to many people!
Food was excellent however with limited menu options. We feel that Hearth may be a one time visit restaurant, not because it’s bad but because nothing would be new with each visit.
The service is very hit and miss. We waited at the Hearth Lounge for 25 minutes and were not even able to order a drink despite two 'follow ups'. Out of frustration we asked to be seated at out table early. We waited about 10 minutes before we were given menus or offered water or drinks. The food was good albeit very rich. While the food was lovely it was totally disproportionate to the price they charge. You can certainly get food of the same quality, or even better, for the same or better price. Overall the restaurant is good (not great) and charges exorbitantly all things considered.
Superb cuisine, great recommendation from waiter in choosing a wine to compliment the food.
The menu is very limited in choice, overly complicated and definitely not value for money.
The service for a supposedly 6 star hotel was very average and certainly not to standard.
Ample choices on the menu to entice us. Flavours were exquisite and a treat to our taste buds from start to finish.
Everyone on the restaurant team were welcoming, attentive and friendly. Could not fault the level of service.
Fabulous selection on the menu combined with excellent service - will definitely visit again!
While the quality of the food was up there the value for money was not. Also staff need to be trained as to what the meals consist of and if they were trained it wasn’t done well . Very disappointed with overall experience.
