Hogans Hotel Bistro
Food was very yummy and came out pretty quick.
It was a Saturday evening and there was a balloon artist in the kids play area. Which was fun for the kids.
A little on the expensive side but couldn't fault the meals.
Food was cold. Service was too much, standing by table waiting to take glass before finished, interupting conversation to ask all ok. Very noisy.
Went for lunch with our family on Fathers Day and enjoyed the food, service was great and the grandchildren really enjoyed the play area which gave us some quiet time - overall great experience and will definitely be back. Thank you
As members of Hogans, we regularly go to Hogans every Friday Night (since moving to Wallan), to enjoy a nice meal and drinks and relax after a busy week, but Friday the 30th we arrived at 6.30pm and was shown our table all normal with a happy staff.
I placed our order for our meals and purchased some drinks, all normal with good service.
We received our meals which always looks good, but my meal was a mixed grill, was fine until I started my steak, half was really good but the second half of the steak was tough, hard to cut as it had big sections of grizzle and wasn't eatable.
This is the first meal that I have had a meal at Hogans and wasn't up to standard of what we usually get from Hogans, just a little disappointed.
Excellent food and good atmosphere, overall a good night
Due to number of bookings on the night staff rushed with clearing tables taking meals and drinks away before being finished.
Super friendly staff. No wedges, which was surprising ( who doesn’t have wedges ?? ) and fish was a bit over cooked, but everything else was good. First time we’ve ever had any issue with the food, so definitely will return :)
Amazing food as always, quick prompt service, great play area for kids. Highly recommend
The spag bol wasn’t up to your usual standard. The pasta was slightly undercooked and the sauce a bit tasteless. Also asked for the powdered Parmesan cheese only to be told you don’t have it.
Great country pub with good atmosphere, family friendly, when you're in wallan make sure you drop in for a bite.
Great service, fabulous for the kids!
Very accommodating to all my requests!
We have been here a few times for dinner but actually on Saturday night the food was not as it should be. We ordered the chicken wings and it was basically chicken wings with cold sauce on top which was not nice at all. We were a table of 5 and 3 of us ordered chicken parma and when this came out the chicken was cold and I returned my meal as it was not up to standard. Not really sure if we will travel an hour to come here again. The food was very disappointing.
Great service and friendly atmosphere, food was excellent
Roast of the Day (Beef) did not even closely resemble a roasted meal, not a roasted vegetable on the plate, the meat looked boiled if anything. It was sent back and replaced with soggy fish. My friends had ribs and a chicken parma which they both rated just ok. It was my first time back at Hogan's in a couple of years unfortunately I quickly remembered why we had been giving it the wide berth for so long.
Couldn't ask for more accommodating staff and the food was to die for. The most pleasant dining experience I have ever had.
Great place for dinner staff were very friendly and helpful especially the bar manager. Will definitely be recommending Hogans to family and friends
Great meal and vateted well for Lactose and Gluten free guest
Good food, good service good atmosphere, will definitely go again.
Staff are amazing, food is fantastic, never had a bad meal, Hogans is so cosy in winter when the open fire is going. Would highly recommend Hogans
We were very excited about the waffle chips being back and they were fabulous. Unfortunately the beef was extremely fatty making all 3 meals having high percentage inedible. A sauce would have been good. In two years of coming to Hogan’s, this was our first experience of a meal none of us enjoyed. I’m sure it was just a one off, but we wouldn’t order this again.
We had a nice meal, some meals are way overpriced others reasonable. Food I’d rate as ordinary to ok nothing extrordinary
The staff are lovely, but the food quality isn't up to scratch for the price. Ribs were mainly fat with very little meat on them, parma had oil dripping off it. Good ambience though.
Lovely staff, meals were too big, very wasteful. My fish was over cooked. The rest of the table were satisfied with their meal.
Found service & food to our liking but think there should be pizza's on the menu
Fast service, friendly staff and delicious meals 😋👍🏻
The seafood platter was definitely not worth the $48 price. The fish was dried out and the amount of seafood for the price minimal. The pork belly crackling was like leather and when asked by the waitress if we enjoyed the meal we told her this. Her response was, “oh that’s no good” and that was that.
Average roast. Dry cauliflower. Large almost bitter zucchini, not small or sweet. No glaze to moisten vegs. No carrot or pumpkin. Doubt beef was cooked on the day. Rather expensive wines at $9.50 per glass. Loud woman at bar - no need to shout! We're not all deaf. Perhaps the junkier food such as parmiagana on a mountain of chips is seen as better value. No smaller serve than 10 tiger prawns. Not sure if I'll go again.
It was very cold in the dining room Staff very good , food very good As previously The Wine is to expensive, they need to do promotions at $5-6 a glass $10 for a Rose in a pub Over the top
Booking online easy and instant Great service Food excellent Generous serves and came quickly.
Wine prices are a bit too expensive at Hogan’s It is a pub and prices should reflect this They are not top brands that are available
My partner and i have come quite a few times as the meals are generally great. This last time the meal was horrible (steak way over cooked and tasteless and veggies soggy and inedible) .... disappointing as we love this place normally and for the price we expect consistency
The food is fantastic, and the great service, thanks 😊
Two fishermans baskets and both of us ended up unwell. We spoke to the manager who offered us a free beer each.
My chips were partly cooked, some even frozen. Both of our fish had oil DRIPPING from the batter. Calamari rings were mush and tasteless. The prawns were watery and had no flavour besides watery oil.
The older lady behind the bar is quite rude. Everything is too much trouble. Being told to go into the actual restaurant to get red wine wasnt appreciated.
The young wait staff, however, were quite lovely.
For the price we paid I think it is overpriced and the food was actually disgusting. Very disappointing and I am afraid we will never be back!
Great half way from my home to son, will come again
It was our 1st time dining at Hogans. We were greeted warmly by Donna who was to be our server for the evening. She promptly changed our seating allocation away from a party group as there was just the 2 of us which was appreciated. We ordered the seafood platter & unfortunately it was overcooked for our liking & minimal choice of seafood with lots of chips with salad.
Had an amazing time at Hogan's,food was beautiful and service was prompt and friendly.couldnt really complain about anything.l also stayed the night at Hogan's in a standard King room, which was amazing ,loved it pub bistro has so much history and an old world charm.would recommend Hogan's to anyone
Loved the atmosphere and the ambiance. Food was great except for a little bit too much salt in my Chicken Scallopini. Would definitely come back again.
Very happy with the food and service.children enjoyed the free gave painting and kids room
Great food, price were fantastic for the food we got
Lunch for 10 for birthday celebration. Staff were outstanding, very accommodating and friendly. Meals were enjoyed by all who attended. Children's meals brought out first, adults meals were served promptly and were delicious. Highly recommend Hogan's !!
