Hwaro Korean BBQ Restaurant
I have been going to this restaurant for over 10 years. Without fail, it never disappoints. Food is consistent. Wood-fire BBQ, which is rare to find. Price is reasonable.
Hwaro offers a traditional Korean table set-up where you can take off your shoes; and they also have regular seating. So depending on the experience you are looking for, you can request for the type of table set-up you are interested in.
Hwaro is known for their Special gal-bi (beef ribs). I also usually order spicy pork belly and spicy chicken thigh fillets, with a couple bowls of rice. This is usually a good amount to feed 2 people. All meals come with free refillable sides of Kimchi and other korean salads.
A plus is their service, they are very quick with their service and very polite. They also cook and cut your meats for you!
Overall, a worthwhile experience. Would definitely recommend this place! Great place to take a date ;)
We had beef and pork grilled. Really enjoy the night with great service. Delicious
It’s great... Meat was tender and the beef soup was great as well.
I thought the mushroom is seasoned or sth but it was plain normal hence pricey.
Good experience at the “cook it yourself” Korean BBQ. Recommend going when you have time and don’t have to be somewhere or not extremely hungry. Staff are eager to jump in and help you cook and ensure the grill is being managed properly. Highly recommend the marinated pork ribs and the wagyu beef. Also, ensure you order the fried rice in the hot stone bowl. The price to value ratio is OK.
Hello, I have visited Hwaro many times an it is my favorite Korean BBQ. Unfortunately on this visit I felt much less attention and care by the wait staff, grilling , cutting meat , replenishing side garnishes. Its especially sad as I took 2 friends who never have been there before.
I will come again and hope that the level of service just dropped this once. Thank you
I wouldn't recommend this place because although the food taste great, the service plus price is just not worth it.
There was no where mentioned that we had a set amount of time to eat. The restaurant had another booking for our table and we we're rushed through our meal. We couldn't even hold a conversation with friends cause we would have 4 different staff come to our table and flip the meal every 30 seconds. It was just an unpleasant experience.
The food no doubt was great but fairly expensive and if the service were up to standards then i wouldn't mind paying the price.
Overall, if you're hungry, don't care about paying for over priced food and don't care about being rushed to shove food down your throat so they can get the next table in, then come to this place
A great evening. We had tried to eat there previously but because it's so popular we didn't get in. Book your table because it's worth it.
Meat is fresh and soft. However, sides are limited and need to pay for top up. Overall, food is good and worth it.
Excellent service, the staff was attentive and even cooked the meat for us. Food quality was superb. Highly recommend.
I understand you have sitting times and need to turn over tables, then you make sure offering efficient service to do that. Service was way too slow so we had to wait for long time for our drinks, charcoal and our food. Everything just took way too long to hit the table and the staff wanted to push us our cause of out by time. If your service was not that slow we wouldn’t have to rush to finish our meal and enjoy it more. Very poor form of service and not worth for what they’re changing.
Great place for delicious Korean BBQ, but don't expect to be able to order some usual dishes you find at other places such as ddeokbokki and chapchae for sides. Limited seafood options for the BBQ, bit the meats were delicious! Pricing is at the upper end so prepare to spend a bit more to get full.
Great food and service, table next to us were super loud so sort of affected the ambiance for us, but not the restaurants fault. Great quality meat and quick service
Cut of meat was nice but price tends to be a little steep. I’d say it’s not truly authentic but still a pleasant dining experience.
Fantasic place very friendly staff. Highly recommend you to eat there at least once in your life. Already planning my next visit
Lovely food and good service. Serving sizes left a bit to be desired.
Been going for 5 years and as always the food is amazing. Just in the last couple of years the staff is burning all the good of this restaurant. Asked for a drink 6 times and never got it, they never give you water, and sorry guys if I’m not a Korean food expert but probably your staff should help and guide customers to understand what they after.
Express my frustration to 3 different people and yes that’s ok sorry. Not that I was looking for a discount but I was expecting a bit more care.
It’s funny that they write on the menu “raw” be careful cause that means you can’t cook the meat! And the explanation was, see there is written raw! Ok I’m blonde and maybe stupid but guys is a charcoal bbq meat place all the bloody meat is raw!!!!!!
On a cold winter's night we were happy to be "out the back" ... as the door was open. Even with several hot coal pots going it still would not have warmed this warehouse space. The pancake starters not good. Lacked taste and substance. Spiced pork a highlight.
Amazing food - best Korean I have ever had in Australia.
Very attentive service. The ox tongue was delicious.
Great restaurant and atmosphere. Noisy and more expensive than i had anticipated, but a great night out.
Good atmosphere however this restaurant is way overpriced for the serving sizes you get.
