We brought new friends to our favorite spot in Atlanta and it definitely lived up to the hype. Excellent food with tremendous service.
Birthday celebration and the food was great but the music was to loud for us. We could not talk to each other easily. The food was very delicious.
Incredible dining experience for any occasion... we highly recommend!
One of our favorite places in Atlanta! We often go here for Corporate Dinners.
Always a winner for a celebratory dinner.
Our favorite restaurant in Atlanta. Consistently great food and service.
Amazing as always!
Very cool place. Metallic paper lanterns, gold streamers, and instruments hanging from ceiling. Excellent food with a background of 70s/disco music. Food was homemade, high quality, and delicious! Entrance is really odd. When you open the door you walk immediately (within 2ft of the door) in to a 7ft tall tiered structure and there is no host/hostess. Feeling like you must have come in through the wrong door, you have no choice but to walk through the very crowded dining area to the bar in the back and find some to tell them that you are there. Overall a very cool place and I’d definitely go back. When the restaurant is full, it’s quite a squeeze in there. The tables are tight. Make sure you bring people you don’t mind snuggling with.
The positive is that the owners were delightful. One greeted us and another brought a dish to the table and was very entertaining. The bartender as we waited for the table was lovely and the drinks were very good. It is the rest of the experience that means I will not return. The server was pushy from the beginning to get us to order, even though our res was later so they were not motivated to be flipping the table. The ambiance is odd. It looked like left over New Years decor and for some reason they gave many people hats, but it was a random mix of sombreros and things. Aside from that, the food was highly unremarkable. The Alfredo and the Carbonara honestly tasted the same with the latter having bacon and peas sprinkled on it. We asked for a drink 2x before getting it, some cheese 2x before getting it and we order a side of meatballs and they were instead added into the Alfredo. No prob, miscommunication, but we asked for a side of marinara to be able to take them out and enjoy them with red sauce and we asked 3 times, two different people and NEVER got the side of red sauce. Then we asked for the check and it took a long time. They cleared the table in the mean time and tried to take everything, even my last bit of wine and our water. I had to intervene. Before the check arrived, our primary waiter returned and tried hard to up sell us and that felt so odd given that we did not even get what we ordered. The bill was 200+ which did not at all align with the dining experience. If it was super authentic and the service was good, I’d be willing to embrace the odd ambiance but it feels strange and gimmicky.
The best of the best in every category. Food, service, drinks are all amazing. My all time favorite restaurant!
Favorite place to go when visiting Atlanta.
Lovely place with amazing pasta options. Local spot.
A wonderful meal and atmosphere! Best Italian restaurant ever! Great owner!
Lov love this restaurant, the food, drinks and the service is over the Top
Awesome! My son recommended the place. We could not have had a better time with great food and wine
Went for my wife’s birthday with a whole bunch of her friends and their significant others and had an absolute blast. The food was phenomenal. The atmosphere is all fun and games. The staff works the crowd to play fun music and gets all to participate in the event. I’d go back for the food. I’d recommend the place for event. Unforgettable.
Overpriced for drinks and food. Service was terrible
This is my third dinner at Il Localino. Service, from the start was slower than I have experienced. We had to ask 2 different servers to please take our drink order, after several minutes of waiting.
Once we ordered, The melone with prosciutto was lacking on the melon. Teeny tiny pieces and some prosciutto missing the melon entirely. A couple of us ordered the mushroom pasta special which was really delicious, as were our other entrees. Better than our past experiences.
Our major complaint is that the bill is never itemized. It is a bill that only shows the total. We have never seen a restaurant do that. It seemed higher than we anticipated but we had no way to check on that.
Another WONDERFUL time at IL Localino! Best veal chop I’ve had in a long time. The pasta ala MaMa is delightful. Service led by Marco is fantastic.
Highly recommended as one Atlanta’s best restaurant!!
Go there as soon as possible for an awesome experience!
Service was horrible
Our youngest gave her father a dinner here because she had eaten at IL Localino before. He works all the time and she wanted it to be really special for our family. We felt as if we had entered someone's home, warm and inviting and friendly. The food was unbelievable and servers were exceptional. The whole experience far exceeded any expectation we might have had. It was a perfect night and we are still talking about it and thinking of another evening in the near future. We especially liked the hats.
Absolutely loved our New Year's Eve experience! Was the second time we went for NYE and it didn't disappoint. The staff was fun and the owners are such lovely people. The food was great - worthwhile to open the wallet for this one!
Il Localino is our favorite Italian restaurant in Atlanta, period. The food is always excellent as is the service and friendly and personal owners.
We have been to IL Localino several times and had a great experience but this NYE dinner wasn't quite the same. The service felt rushed, the food runner was extremely rude to us and did not clear our plates when we asked, and we were offered dessert while still eating our meal and finishing a bottle of wine. The food was average which we aren't used to at IL Localino, it is usually outstanding. We are understanding because of the traffic for the holiday but disappointed that the service was so lacking.
I was so excited to try this restaurant but was a bit disappointed. From being told that there was an entree minimum per person (although this wasn't on their website menu), to not being allowed to pack up my daughters left over food, to being rushed through dinner, to not being offered assistance during dinner, the service was a huge let down. I guess with the NYE rush, they just wanted to rush us out to get more people seated. Not what I expected from such a long-standing establishment:(
We always have the best time here - great food and ambiance! Fun dinner!
I enjoyed my dinner. The service was good and the food was delicious and authentic. My only issue was the bill. I really wish each diner could receive their own check and pay! At an establishment of this caliber (prices) the owners can surely afford to provide each patron with an individual bill when dining as a group. The overall ambience and experience was diminished trying to figure out how much each of us had to pay. Just my 2 cents!!! I would return with my husband since we would be paying together, but not sure about returning with friends.
Giovanni et al never disappoint. the food and atmosphere is second to none. When in Atlanta, eat here for Italian.
Fantastic! Such a fun evening. Delicious food and festive atmosphere. Attentive staff and entertaining owner.
LOVED our date night. Our water was great, food was flavorful and atmosphere was amazing. Whenever we are in town, we will make Il localino our date night spot.
We loved this place! Crazy amount of ceiling decorations that make it a fun place. The owner, Giovanni, was there and talked to a lot of the tables. A funny guy. The food was great and the service was too. I even got a rose when we left. A must visit when in the area!
We have customers for over 17 years and every time is a unique experience. We drive from Tampa FL to Atlanta and is always priceless.
Wonderful time and great food. Understand that Gale and Giovanni create a dining experience so in addition to your meal the disco ball and music will play as the night goes on. Don’t be surprised if you are given a hat to wear. It’s a festive time and one you are sure to be talking about. Let your hair down and enjoy!
We love this place. The food is amazing and the service is equally good. I love how the owner comes to your table and engages you.
Christmas Eve- the ambiance was fabulous! The service was a negative!! We never got water- it was hard to reorder wine! We had a table of 6 and we spent a lot of money! When we asked for water and more wine the waitress- just looked at us- NOT FRIENDLY OR HELPFUL!! The owner is super nice and inviting but it was expensive for what you get and the service was very disappointing! It put a damper on the delicious small serving dinners! We left hungry!!
Wine song and incredible food! We love this restaurant as much as we love the owners. Gale and Giovanni are spectacular hosts!
