We dine at Isa at least once month. Isa is a great restaurant & the owner is so friendly and provides a nice atmosphere!
Had an enjoyable evening.
We enjoyed a really delicious meal with a large group in the back patio. The service was a bit inconsistent with items arriving quite randomly (including the sides after we had all finished our entrees). But the food and ambiance were terrific.
Not only were the recommendations on food and wine spot-on, but both the waiter and the maitre de were consistently kind and attentive throughout our meal. The parklet was well lit and warm, and the food came out quickly. The waiter basically selected our wine for us, and they were great selections. We felt well taken care of, the the meal was delicious.
Isa has always stood up to our high expectations in quality food service ambience and service!! The owners are amazing and so is their staff.
Everything we ate was so delicious! Service was wonderful as well.
Food is tasty and the service is great. My only complain is the very dirty restroom. I love to go back for the food but the restaurant needs renovation and a better cleaning.
Great service and delicious food, will be back again.
I made a reservation for an early birthday dinner for a family member. The service was absolutely impeccable. The waitstaff were engaging, passionate, knowledgeable, very attentive, and truly sweet! Really remarkable.
We sat outside, per the reservation, and tables were adequately spaced with great heat lamps.
The food was amazing. While the dishes appeared initially to be on the more petit side, they were actually quite filling. We each had the butter lettuce appetizer, and I had the scallops with mashed potatoes and perfectly done brussels sprouts, all incredibly delicious. He had the mussels with flat bread, also extremely tasty.
They brought out a dessert with candle for his birthday (pre-arranged), and graciously added a small glass of dessert wine. All so good.
When we first sat down, the waiter told us about the establishment, and the chef’s very high standards. They were on display from the moment we sat down to the very last yummy bite.
We’ll definitely return, and can’t recommend this gem enough!
Really good French food with subtle Californian twist. Seriously good. Not tapas. A single dish is a reasonable meal.
The food was amazing and the service was excellent. Very enjoyable dinner.
The food is wonderful, tasty, distinctive but not too far out, great small plates, appetizers. Crab salad is amazing! As is the lobster soup. It's all good ...
The owner is really thoughtful. I came in over a year ago and dropped a check by accident. I didn't return for some time and he remembered me, and produced the check!!!!!
Amazing meal! Perfect evening on the covered patio. So grateful to have this gem in the neighborhood for over 20 years now!
A friend visiting from TN, we wanted a good meal Crème brûlée & flourless chocolate cake. Excellent meal. Downside, small portions, large bill.
Really, ISA is a great place for ANY occasion.
Great restaurant, the food was amazing! TWorth every dollar we spend which was very good value for the amazing dishes we had. We were seated in front of the restaurant and it was a little loud and then a city worker truck was working also about 50 feet away which was extremely loud. However, no fault to the restaurant.
Outstanding service and incredibly delicious food. Thank you for creating the space for our group.
We selected outdoor seating and were sat in the back patio area, which seemed just like eating indoors in terms of airflow. We asked if we could wait for a table in the parklette, and the staff were very accommodating. We didn’t have to wait long, snd the service was great.
Went for restaurant week and everything was delicious. Some of the highlights:
pan roasted chicken was maybe the best chicken I’ve ever had. Easy to look past a chicken dish at a restaurant like this, but it’s SO good. Juicy and perfectly seasoned.
The mussels and grilled bread were also excellent, some of the best I’ve had in a while.
Yellowtail Hamachi was also really good. Pretty light but excellent flavor.
Rack of lamb was pretty good, but not amazing like some of the other dishes we had. Same goes for the lobster broth.
Overall great spot for a date night or small group. Good food and a nice atmosphere.
Six of us went during SF Restaurant Week and all enjoyed immensely. Only problem was noise level as place was full. Loved my Cortez shrimp and the scallops entree. We’d all go again!
Great food and service!
We picked Isa for restaurant week for their menu. It offered a large variety and choice, so allowed us to really sample many of their dishes. And the food was all amazing! We sat inside which was rather narrow and crowded. The 'outside' patio was fully contained and definitely would be my choice next time. Since it was restaurant week, it was very busy and the meal felt rushed. I would definitely go back again and feel the experience would be more relaxed. I need to emphasis the food was excellent and the main reason to go!
Delicious experience with restaurant week. Reservations recommended. The only con was that appetizers took half a lifetime to arrive - pretty sure they were fishing for my mussels during that wait.
We visited Isa for the first time during restaurant week, not knowing they had a prix fix menu. The price was set at $65 per person and included 4 courses plus a glass of wine or bubbly. The wait staff was very helpful accommodating my dietary issues and recommending dishes when asked. Food was delicious and the portion sizes were just right for a 4 course meal.
We sat on the back covered patio which was charming and cozy despite the chilly night. It felt Covid safe and was spaced nicely. The food was yummy and presented well on the plate.
Kudos to Isa for surviving the pandemic, presenting tasty food and kind and caring wait staff. We will be back!
Very good food and service… plates were a bit small but very delicious
Can't rave about the food enough! The four-course meal was absolutely delicious! The crab salad was flavorful but delicate and the duck breast was succulent. Overall the dinner was a superb experience.
Great setting for date night or a special occasion.
Well the reservation I made asked if there was a special occasion. I indicated it was birthday. This was not at all acknowledged by the staff which was sad for the birthday boy
It took 45 minutes for staff to take our order after we had been seated. It was taken incorrectly. And it took 3 hrs by the time desert was brought (4 course meal).
Three of us ate the prix fixe four course dinner, all of which was wonderful. Everything was delicious. We all began with soup--lobster broth with shrimp that was delicate and flavorful. For appetizers, we ordered yellowtail sushi, arugula salad, and shrimp. For mains, we had chicken with mashed potatoes (comfort food and good), spaghetti, and halibut with capers (great). All of us had creme brulee for dessert. I was with out-of-town visitors and am so glad they were treated to one of SF's consistently terrific restaurants.
Too expensive for what it was, prefixed menu with tiny portions. I went home feeling hungry. Wouldn’t come back here again.
Good experiences during the SF Restaurant 2021 in October.
We were there during restaurant week and got the $65 price fixe, with four courses. Yellow fin tuna in a timbale with just the right touch of spice. Wonderful duck breast medium rare in huckleberry sauce rare with crackling skin. Tender, tasty halibut. Great Gorgonzola cheese course to finish. Our server Jonathan was friendly and helpful.
We went for SF Restaurant week and had the set menu. While the service was great, the food was ok. The soups for the first course, Lobster Bisque and Potato Leek, were both watery and flavourless. They should either be eliminated or improved. That said, the appetizers, hamachi crudo, toro tartar, arugula salad, were all excellent. The main entrees were good but not great. The duck was a bit cold, the tarragon butter on the steak was way too strong, the scallops were excellent. The desserts hit the right finish. Valrona ice cream and creme brulee stand out as very good. So in all a mixed bag but we would return to try again.
This was the 3rd year we have come for the SF Restaurant Week menu. It's one of the absolutely best choices, both for food quality and amount, and number of choices per course! Our server Debbie was particularly nice to my sister, who arrived stressed-out after a traffic delay. The meal was as good as ever: essence of lobster in the broth, succulent prawns, tender lamb, perfectly textured creme brulee. And a large pour of wine - who could ask for more for $65?! Love this restaurant!
2.5 hours + tiny portions + crowded space + no vaccination card required. My fiance and I were both hungry afterwards and had to find another restaurant open in SF after the supposed 4 course meal.
Don't recommend visiting during restaurant week and will not visit again.
The staff was hustling! They were so good and efficient and friendly. I know everyone is short staffed these days but everyone working throughout the night was so on point. Very pleasant experience. Would go back
Amazing place. Amazing food
Neighborhood gem with great cuisine, presentation and wine list. Service is friendly and fun. The owner is a beautiful person.
Food is amazing! We had the truffle risotto and scallops and both were incredibly delicious.
