When we arrived there was a sign saying they were closed. No one bothered to contact us! No way to run a business!!!!
What a gem of a restaurant tucked away in the far west suburbs of Chicago. Home made pasta, tasty appetizers and friendly wait staff.
Even the wines by the glass were good.
The scallop pork belly appetizer was amazing. The short rib with home made gnocchi was sublime and the home made lobster ravioli had real lobster!
Thank you for a lovely evening!
This is our favorite restaurant , food is always excellent... very thoughtful in prep & tasty for the palate . Servers are helpful with suggestions & also very attentive . Nice wine selection as well , we have never been disappointed here !
The restaurant was closed and no one got back to me to say they were closed.
The food was amazing and the atmosphere was quaint. I love coming here the menu always changes. Thanks
Small menu but the food was excellent. Felicia was a great server.
Great food, great ambience! Chef = owner = superior product!
Just average is about the best we can say. Nothing overly terrible but nothing really special either. At roughly 60 dollars per head before tip this should have been more.
Excellent niche restaurant! Would highly recommend this place but want to keep it quaint and small.
The staff, ambience and food were excellent! We would recommend Isacco to anyone looking for an authentic Italian meal!
An interesting and unique dining experience, small restaurant with a really great feel and outstanding food. Highly recommended!
Another stellar dinner as always. Attentive non-rushed service. We brought wine (corkage $25) that was in need of a little decant and it was handled properly. And no attempt to pour for us etc, another good sign. We were left to divvy up the wine as we desired. Seafood, meat, pasta all done right.
I had been here before and had great experiences so I was excited to bring coworkers. We had the worst service ever. Only one woman was serving that night. It took 10 minutes to get water and another 15 minutes to place a drink order. We ordered the meat and cheese platter for an appetizer. The appetizer was good. It arrived 45 minutes into our visit. In the meantime, two other parties came, got their water and drinks, got their meals, got their checks, and left before our meals even arrived. She informed us there was only one person in the kitchen. When we begin to express our frustration, she kept telling us that Isacco would come to talk to us. Two people at my table order the steak, and it was awful, flavorless, and tough. Another person and I ordered the ravioli in the cream sauce with Sage and prosciutto. We got ravioli in a cream sauce. There was no sage, and there was no prosciutto. Fortunately, it still tasted OK. Finally, Isacco came over with a slice of cheesecake and 4 spoons and said he was taking care of everything. We didn’t know what that meant. Then he came over with a pecan dessert and said he was taking care of everything. We also noticed the server trying to talk with Isacco and he was getting mad at her and pushed her arm. She was probably trying to tell him about the issues we were having. Another couple behind us was there before us, and was there after us. We were shocked to get our tab and see that one steak dinner and one ravioli dinner was comped when it was two steak dinners that were awful and two ravioli dinners that were not as described. We were there for three hours and wanted to pack up the appetizer but they discarded it. The only thing we could do is try to laugh, pay the tab, and show our disappointment in the tip. It was so bad compared to my previous experiences, and I was embarrassed bringing colleagues there who left hungry.
Once we got past the confusion and learned that Isaaco’s is past its Green’s Up phase, we were excited to return to one of our favorite spots. We enjoyed the charcuterie board, still the best in the area and shared a delicious shaved Brussels sprout salad. The special shellfish entree was amazing. We were not as pleased with the veal limone, as the meat was not as tender as we would have liked, but the flavor was good. Our waiter was as efficient as possible, which became more challenging as the restaurant filled up. We will definitely return.
The service and food were amazing. I thought it would be louder based on other reviews, however, there were only 2 other parties there at 8:30 PM and it was nice and quiet.
Great food, awesome service. Feels tight. I like the small menu since everything is made from scratch.
Drinks suggestions were spot on.
I have been there three times now. Each visit has been enjoyable. The staff is helpful, especially with the wine choices, and questions about menu items. Their pasta is delicious. Their wine selections are extensive.
Great service, Great hand made pasta, cozy atmosphere. One doesn’t need much more.
It’s obvious that Isacco has a love for food. Every ingredient was carefully chosen and prepared/presented in loving fashion. I had a whole sea bass which was among the best I’ve ever had. Dessert was fantastic. I would go back again and again because you never know what might be on the menu.
Food awful, service poor. They did give us a nice break on our check but a nice dinner would have been better.
Isacco and his team are awesome. Always receive great service from Fabio, Ryan and Ari
There were 4 of us in our group and we ordered 4 different dishes: Seafood linguine, Veal Chop, Shrimp and Pasta and another pasta with bolognese sauce...All were some of the best dishes we have ever eaten. The wine that was recommended was perfect. This venue is a little on the small side, so the tables are little close which means that noise level is a little high. The fresh baked bread they bring to the table in a paper bag is awesome.
Isacco is a cozy and warm restaurant. Great place for a date night. My husband and I started our evening with a bottle of red wine that was recommended by our server, Ari. Was smooth as silk. We started our dinner an appetizer of snails with pesto. It was delicious. We were surprised at the number of snails in our order...at least a dozen! Our entrees consisted of pork saltimbocca and beef/cheese ravioli with a sage butter sauce. Both meals were quite tasty and the perfect portion size. We had just enough room to wrap up our dinner by splitting a dessert. A pecan tart with gelato. It was perfect! The combination of Isacco's atmosphere, an outstanding server and a lovely meal made for a wonderful evening.
Everything was really excellent
Terrific meal with excellent Italian wines. Service was excellent with a very comfortable ambiance.
The food is fantastic! We got the squid and octopus appetizer and it was great -- soft, not overcooked, and kept the flavors intact. My wife got the Sea Bass and it is buttery and very flavorful. The lamb chops I got was cooked medium, the marinade was very exotic and tasted great as well! It's a little pricey, but worth coming back for for special occasions.
What a hidden gem! On a whim, I booked a table for a Friday night. Based on other reviews, I can concur that while tiny and a bit noisy, the food and hospitality of the staff were outstanding. My husband and I enjoyed our meal, without the feeling that we were lingering too long. It was a wonderful experience.
The service at Isacco Kitchen was probably the best restaurant service I have had in long time. They were very attentive but not over-bearing. The food was outstanding. Because it is a small space the noise level was a little much but that would be my only negative comment. Definitely would go back
Our portion sizes were on the small side, though we didn't order the seafood medley, which I saw was huge. I wish it included a salad and more of a vegetable side dish...mine was a small side of micro greens. If it wasn't for the bread I'd have left hungry!
We went for Valentine's day and had a great experience! The food was amazing, staff were attentive and knowledgeable, and the atmosphere was perfect for a romantic evening!
What we ordered is not exactly what we received. Things were missing and other ingredients added. Ex: Crab ravioli had lobster and the whole lobster shell in the bowl including eyes. lobster was not even listed on entree. An appetizer was suppose to have homemade pickles and focaccia bread, they were missing. Salad was suppose to have citrus and grapes, instead had pineapple.
Amazing food and excellent service. This is one of our favorite places.
Loved this cute little place. Felt like we were in the chef's home. Food was delicious, server suggestions were on point. Great wine selection.
We have eaten there and at their other location many times. We enjoy all the food we have tried on the menu especially the pasta recipes! Besides the ambiance and charm keep us coming back!
Wonderful food and wine! Very fresh seafood brought in that day, we had fresh grilled calamari as an appetizer, and lobster ravioli as a main dish, both were delicious. Will be returning for more great food.
We had reservations here for New Years Eve dinner. We have eaten here probably 4 times in the past year and every single time we walk out talking about how we think its the best restaurant in St. Charles. My wife and I both had the Seafood Pasta and its was amazing. We know that Isacco loves to make this dish and it was the best we ever had. It was loaded with Shrimp, lobster, calamari, Mussels, and Clams. The pasta is all homemade and its the best pasta we have ever eaten, very delicate and cooked perfectly. Our Daughter had the Pasta with Bolognese and she loved it as well. We would have ordered an appetizer, but the portions are very good size and the home made bread that comes with the meal is plenty for us. Our server that night was a young man named Dillon and he was awesome. I know he was just filling in as a favor for the owner, but you could not have asked for a more attentive and knowledgeable waiter. Dont be confused by the name change, this is still Isacco's...same menu and staff and quality! Dont know why they wanted to change the name, we find the new name confusing...but this wont stop us from going back!
Excellent. House made Focaccia is to die for. Great wine list
Wonderful restaurant! We enjoyed our dinner there very much. Will definitely go back.
Got a call 3 hours before our reservation on a Friday night cancelling our reservation saying they won’t be opening due to “problems with the kitchen”. This is the second time this has happened!
