Me and my girlfriend love this spot...food is fantastic and delicious ...very reasonably priced...love the outdoor patio with live guitar....felt very relaxed..nobody rushes you...waitress is very charming...highly recommend...you will definitely enjoy a great evening out
We enjoyed the live music and the meal at J.Flemings. It has been a great neighborhood place, and we make it a regular choice for casual, but very well-prepared, interesting meals.
Really nice restaurant and the owner was our server. Great food and ambiance.
The food was fine. The upscale entrees seem better than the sandwiches. The potato salad has a wierd taste that we thought was tarragon. It was a Saturday night and the music was good BUT WAY TOO LOUD!
All 8 members of our bridge group enjoyed our food and having a private room. The waitress was excellent. We will definitely return to J. Fleming's in Westmont.
I gave 4 stars because the prices charge for wine is greater than what is posted on the menu. They either need to update their menu or change their computer. The food was delicious. On Friday, the live music was awesome.
Went for a small family dinner early on Saturday night. There was a large birthday celebration at the next table which made for a happy atmosphere. Restaurant is laid back and enjoyable. Guitar player/singer added a nice touch.
My family and I drive towns over to go to J. Fleming’s restaurant. We have been going there for 10+ years! It is absolutely delicious!
Thanks for always taking care of us! From the Bolingbrook Majersky’s. 😊
Love this place. The food is excellent and so many yummy options. I plan to return every time I’m in town.
Excellent find. Amazing antiques, incorporated well. The food was outstanding and Steve was very welcoming. Will be sure to return. Thanks much.
Good service and friendly atmosphere....enjoyed the entertainment.
We really enjoyed our evening at J. Fleming's. Our waitress Jen was AWESOME!! The food was delicious and the music was great!!! We will be for sure be back again!!
On Valentine’s Day the restaurant was packed and a large and noisy group was dining. We visited this place the first time and were pleasantly surprised: food was delicious, great service, very pleasant and welcoming owner. He gave all ladies a nice rose for Valentine’s Day: it was very nice of him! We definitely will be back!
Food was wonderful & Jen as always provided wonderful attentive service.
We enjoyed our Valentines Day dinner. We both had the special, mahi-mahi and really liked it. Waitress was personable. We will be back.
Love this place! Great food, friendly staff, and good music on weekends.
The outdoor dining area is beautiful in the summer, but the indoor dining room is warm & cozy in the cold months.
Great food, super nice staff.
We have been here several times and the food is excellent. We ate 2 days in a row here because the food is , absolutely delicious. We will be coming back to this spot. The owner and wait staff are very friendly. Such a great find in our small town.
We love J. Flemings. The menu items are always interesting and not pretentious.
The service is always friendly, and very accommodating of allergies and adjustments where necessary.
We enjoy the live music, and the neighborhood feel.
It is about the best value and experience in the western suburbs.
Live music by guitarist/singer.
Cozy atmosphere. We had excellent service and staff and owner were very accommodating to special menu request for a member of our party that had allergies. Something for everyone on the menu and food was delicious.
This restaurant is absolutely awful. My husband and I went there last week. Food isn’t good and the service is terrible. Upon our exit, the owner asked how everything was. I told him the service wasn’t good. We were disappointed. He couldn’t of cared less. He had an attitude like, Oh well!!
Don’t go here.
My friends and I did not have a good experience on Saturday, September 8, 2018. It has been a few years since I was at J. Flemings, and it is apparent that the food quality and service declined considerably.
I ordered filet medallions and they appeared to be cooked twice. Two very small medallions were provided for $25.00 and I would have been willing to pay more for better quality. I asked for medium rare and the edges of the meat were hard to chew and the middle wasn't even pink. The accompanying green beans were well prepared and seasoned.
A friend requested prime rib 'medium rare' and asked the server how the restaurant interpreted 'medium rare'. The server said 'our cooks know'. My friend then asked is medium rare 'bloody or something else' and the server replied 'yes'.
75% of those in my party agreed that the server didn't seem to know how to properly deliver new plates to, or take used plates away from, the table. He reached over patrons without saying 'excuse me' or 'I'm sorry'. There was plenty of floor space around the tables to walk around, which he did not. It appears he had poor to little proper food service/delivery training.
For an early Saturday evening, there were very few patrons in the restaurant. The owner stood at the bar not far from our table (I recognized him from online photos). He did not come over to our table to ask about our service or food.
The acoustic guitarist/singer played and sang very well.
I don't like talking poorly about a neighborhood restaurant and hope the owners and community development leaders take these comments seriously to improve the customer's experience.
The food is always delicious and the service great. Even with a large group the waitstaff is attentive and friendly.
Awesome service and terrific food. Reasonably priced overall. Scallops were amazing, and the prime rib special was perfectly cooked. Good wine list. We will be back!
Service terrible. Waiter underestimated the wait. Had to keep flagging him down.
We received very poor service on a Saturday night, and even though the food was decent, we will not go back. No one approached our table for 15 min after we were seated to bring us water or take a drink order. We had to chase our waiter down later in the evening to ask for more water and another round of drinks because he never stopped back at our table at all. And it wasn’t just our table that was receiving poor service. Several tables around us had the same problems we did and they had different servers. The crab cake appetizers were mostly bread crumbs- very little crab. The Cuban sandwich was delicious- a substantial amt of meat, onions, and sauce on grilled ciabatta bread. They had live music on the patio which was good.
The food was good. But the service was truly terrible.
Everything was just OK, nothing special. Nice outdoor space.
The food was very good. My pork chop was perfect. The wine list is pretty good, too. And the live music was great!
A couple of negatives: Our plates came out at different times, making us wait for the remaining plate before eating. This seemed to happen at other tables, too.
And, like many restaurants, the server disappeared after dinner instead of bringing us a check.
When we arrived I told them we had a reservation for 4 and gave them my name. I said we are dining with another couple. They said it would be about 10 mins. We waited for more than 10 mins, they didn't tell us our friends had already been seated and were waiting for us outside. Finally a waitress came over to us and I told her we were waiting for our friends. She told us there was a couple on the patio and asked if that was them. It was. I wish they could have asked us this in the first place. The outdoor patio was very nice and we enjoyed sitting out there, until the mosquitos got to us. They need something to control them. I ordered the seared scallops dish with risotto. It was very tasty, but the scallops did not seam seared. My husband ordered a pasta dish, which he liked very much. My girlfriend ordered scallops also, and did not like how they turned out. The other husband ordered the pork chop which he and his wife said they both liked. There was music - a guy playing guitar. He was pretty good and played a nice variety of songs. However the volume was way too loud, because we had to shout to talk to each other. They should just turn down the volume a bit. I think we might like to come back earlier in the day and sit outside when the mosquitos aren't so bad.
Love the live music and outdoor patio
It was our first time dining at J. Flemings, and it will not be our last. The service was exceptional. The food was terrific. The wine list was complete. The entertainment (Friday night) was awesome, taking requests and rocking them. We dined outside, and were very comfortable.
Great food ... need a better, more broad beer selection
Went for Mother’s Day and will not return. Most of the buffet food wasn’t made in house. For example, frozen pancakes from a box that were warmed up. They seemed to not really know what they were doing. It was $25 a person and not worth it at all.
J. Fleming's is possibly the best neighborhood restaurant in the western suburbs. The food is excellent, with an interesting menu, but remains accessible for the whole family. The service is friendly and sincere, and they have live music.
Our meal was thoughtfully prepared, delivered in a timely manner, paced well for the courses, and we were appreciated for our visit. We go here fairly often and will continue to do so.
Great live accoustic music, fun staff, excellent food, wished I lived closer so I could come every week!
Fantastic food with an eclectic atmosphere. Service was great as well as the entertainment on Saturday night.
Always a pleasure to dine there.
Have been to Flemings twice now... Walked by many times but never stopped in, should have been doing so a while back! Food is delicious, I had the London Broil and my friend had the pork chop. Pork chop is served with lingonberries - different from the usual apple sauce and the London Broil melted in your mouth. Great entertainment. We will be back soon!
