Kabuto Hibachi and Sushi

We were celebrating my sister’s birthday. This was our first time at the restaurant. Service was great and the food was delicious and you get plenty of it. The chef/cook was very entertaining. It was a great dining experience.
We went with our 2 young children. Both children are under 10. Our waitress took their order. When the bill came we had been charged as 4 adults. My wife asked the waitress what happened. The waitress responded that we didn't "specify" children's meals! Children's meals are 10-12 while adults are 22-29. We were upset. The manager did give us a gift card. The cook was awesome
We had no porblem getting a table. It was a very fun family-friendly environment. Our chef was very funny.
Ate at hibachi table, very well done. However, everything was a bit too oily.
Great food, our hibachi chef, Bo was fantastic, fun night
Hibachi is always fun, Kabuto is no exception. Sake! Sake! Sake!
Tasty lunch specials. Beautiful restaurant.
Great food. Great time.
Atmosphere , Food and music was great our cook was excellent he kept us entertained
We came here for my husband's birthday and it was great. If you don't want to do Hibachi, you can sit at a quieter part of the restaurant. The service was great and they validate for the parking lot right next to the restaurant. The food was very good and dessert was yummy too! Great for a special event or date night.
Food was very good, ambiance was lacking. Hibachi area is way too loud. Made request to sit at the corner and hostess said that she tried, but actually she didn't. She sat the smallest group first which then dictated how the rest of the parties had to be seated. Took over 30 minutes for a simple glass of wine to come out. Not a mixed drink. It was ridiculous. Then recieved only $5 off. Here's the thing: with a little extra you get extra. We would have stayed and had more to drink, but the service was lousy and the apology was half-hearted from the manager despite the waiter being very friendly and apologetic himself. Not sure I will return.
Great food, service and ambiance. Pork taco appetizer was excellent.
Well, when we first got there we couldn’t use the bottomless sale promo on Facebook because they were out. But the sushi platter we had more than made up for it, the food was delicious and our waitresses were excellent because they assisted each other in taking care of us. It was a nice experience and we’ll be back again ✌🏽
This place is on my go back to often list! From walking in to leaving the experience here was great.
The facility is nicely decorated and lots of seating. People were celebrating birthdays, dates and groups of friends and a full bar
First time there
Great service
Good deal. Will be back
Have been here a few times and the food has yet to disappoint. The hibachi dinner for 2 is an amazing deal with plenty of food and entertainment for a great price. Ordered a sushi roll from the happy hour menu and it came out quickly and fresh for a great price as well. Biggest downfall is that the service isn’t great. It’s difficult to find your waiter for a drink refill or to order another app if wanted. Luckily rhebhibachi is mostly completed in front of you without much else needed but the service could definitely use some impromvement.
Not impressive. Food was ok , service was not great either.
First issue, they didn't mark my opentable reservation. There is a reason why this restaurant is on groupon.
The biggest issue is service. The food is good, many vegan options. Our waitress was very nice and tried. On a Friday night there were 50 people tops in the restaurant @ 730? Kabuto can seat maybe 350. Very nice decor. I am sure the owners spent millions. Great location. Soup came out cold and took 20min. If they were busy i could understand. If you have a lot of time on your hands you may want to check it out with a groupon and opentable. If you are trying to catch a movie the same night go anywhere else. They are big into the hibachi experience, I am not and got a small table. The do have a bartender, drink was good.
We were celebrating a birthday - two of our entrées were brought out and then we waited 15 minutes for the other two entrées to be brought out. The food was very good but the service was poor.
The manager did comp us the two entrées that were so late which was very generous.
The early bird special can’t be beat. 2 for $30.
Good food in relaxed atmosphere. We like the show that comes with hibachi cooking as well. We will certainly return in the future.
I wanted to treat our 83 year old mother to a good dinner and "Show" and wow, this place was perfect. The best part was how everyone from our server to the manager we're very kind and wanting to make our experience the best it could be. A balloon crown, free desert and a special song made it great. Mom has a smile ear to ear when we left.
The restaurant was nicely decorated and modern and clean. It was early so very quiet and only a very few people. Would try it again.
The food was good. But it was noisy. However, that was expected in this type of setting.
Best hibachi around period. High quality (and quantity) of food, talented chefs, just a fun place. They have early bird and happy hour specials too, including sushi!
The food was great and the restaurant beautiful. The noise level due to the open space of the hibachi cook tops can get very noisy. The service was almost non existent during dinner and restaurant was not that busy, obviously the staff was never trained. Definitely will give it another try since we enjoyed the food.
My sister and I made a reservation here for dinner before we headed to a movie. We had a great experience and everything went as well as we could have hoped. They had great happy hour deals which we took advantage of by trying the vegetable dumplings, tuna sundae, kiss of fire roll, garlic edamame and rock shrimp tempura. Then off the regular menu we tried a spicy scallop roll. Everything was delicious! Our server was funny, personable, knowledgeable and extremely attentive. We will absolutely be returning!
The food and service are consistently excellent here. Convenient location and free parking.
we wanted to try this new restaurant and we were not disappointed. Very nice place, good food, generous portions.
The restaurant must check people in with reservations so that Open Table is notified.
We'd highly recommend Kabuto Hibachi and sushi if you're looking for a delicious, fun meal out in Rockville. Our hibachi chef was awesome and the food (scallops, salmon, filet) were all excellent.
This is a gem in downtown Rockville, really nice staff, service and great food.
A group of 6 of us went for a happy hour dinner and for their hibachi 30$ for 2 special. The happy hour menu was great, good options on food and drinks and very well priced. The hibachi special was also great, food was delicious, entertaining and how can you beat $30 for 2 people full hibachi? That being said, the service was pretty poor. We didn’t see our waitress often and had a hard time getting drink refills. One of our appetizers came out after we finished our entire hibachi meal so we sent it back as we were full and not expecting it at that late in the meal. The restaurant was surprisingly loud and difficult to hear our group even though it was nearly empty. Not sure what caused that but very hard to hear each other unless screaming across the table. The hibachi chefs were great, the food was great, but the service and ambiance were subpar. Will probably return for the hibachi special but keep in mind the service isn’t great so we’ll be prepared.
Overall this place was just ok - the service was a little slow however the server was very nice, and the chef was nice and entertaining. The food was a little bland, not sure if I would go back. The décor of the place was fabulous, much nicer than any other Hibachi place in the area.
Service was great and staff was very friendly and accomodating! Will sure go back!
Our hibachi chef was outstanding. He had our whole table laughing hysterically!
The food was so good and everyone had some left over to take home. We can’t wait to go back!
My wife and I had lunch there at 2pm this past Sunday. They had a happy hour there & all you can eat sushi or sashimi for $24.99 per person., including miso soup & salad. The fish was fresh & delicious. The sashimi was cut just the right size (not too thick). We gorged ourselves & left a generous tip. It's a shame that a large restaurant such as this one is not doing a great business. We highly recommend it. It certainly compares much more favorably than Sushi Damo which is right around the corner & quite a bit more expensive. At another time, we had the hibachi dinner, also wonderful & reasonably priced. We will return. Hope others will go as well.
Came for sushi this tome instead of hibachi. Good selection of rolls. Enjoyed them all. Even though this side of the restaurant was basically empty (only 3 tables), the service was very slow since only one waitress was working. I would go back since it is so con isn’t for me to walk there.
This is a place for groups to have fun...with each other and the staff. The hibachi chefs come to the table with the ingredients to cook to order and the jokes and antics to make everyone laugh. Each guest can become a seal for the moment and catch a piece of broccoli, playfully tossed by the chef, in their mouth. It's not good table manners but it's fun and kids love to watch adults join them in the "sport". The meal is cooked on the grill before you customized to your tastes: oil or no oil, onion or no onion, low salt etc. Food is portioned out from the group cooking so a couple can share chicken and steak or grab all of one meat for themselves and their partner the other. The table is fun for couples too as there is a lot to talk about later about your dinner partners and their responses to the chef's corny ( literally) jokes. The meal is filling so dessert is best enjoyed later after a walk around downtown Rockville. Parking is complimentary by validation or walk from Rockville metro. You can order sushi rolls at the grill too.
I made a 7pm reservation for my partner's 50th birthday dinner. We had been there once before and had enjoyed it. This time, however, after being arrested right away, or take waited more than an hour for a chef to come to the table. We spoke to manager at the hour mark and were told that the chef had accidentally give to the wrong table. When the chef finally did arrive, he did a great job with the food, but he also spent a great deal of time complaining about his pay and his working conditions. I'm not unsympathetic, but I'm also here paying quite a lot to try to celebrate my partner's birthday. After dinner, we again waited quite awhile for our check, which I finally had to go to the bar and seek out the manager AGAIN to ask for. There was no offer to make things right. We will not be returning to this restaurant.
Our hibachi chef wasn’t lively & entertaining enough. Plenty of food though.
