Ken's on Western
My filet was perfect and my husband loved the rainbow trout.
We had an early Sunday dinner. Alissa our server very pleasant and efficient. Food was delicious, filet/ pork chop and great pizza bread and relish tray prior to dinner.
Enjoyed the retro supper-club vibe.
Friendly staff and really good food.
Very poor service. Our main courses arrived in the middle of eating our salad. Food just not as good as usual.
We visited Kens on a Saturday evening and it was packed. We made a reservation in advance and to their credit, our table was waiting for us when we arrived. We placed our order which included soup and salads and didn’t have to wait long. We had just begun to eat and our entrees arrived. (The waitress admitted to putting the order in all at once which was not at our request.) Needless to say, we placed the cold items aside to eat our hot meal which turned out was not so hot. My husband sent his back to be warmed up. The food was so just OK which was surprising based on the prices and the restaurants’ reputation. I doubt that we’ll go back.
One of the best steaks I’ve had in years!
The staff at Kens is so welcoming and accommodating. They were very busy and to make up for seating us late (it was only 20 minutes) we received two glasses of wine. They really know how to take care of their customers and they make you feel like family when you are there.
One of the best places on the South side..great atmosphere , drink and food. Service is also outstanding. It is really crowded especially on Saturday as it is a cozy place so you really have to make reservations.
Food was awful. Prime rib was partially overcooked and salty. Beef stroganoof was chunky and salty. Noodles were overcooked. Sauce was bland. Perch was bland.
Tammy, a long time waitress, is a definite asset to Ken's. Tammy is very friendly, knows the menu and makes spot on recommendations. Great service, great food-what more could one ask for?
My family and I were looking for a nice restaurant to take my grandmother for her 80th birthday. I didn't identify that we were celebrating a birthday when I made the reservation however our waitress, Amanda, immediately made it special by putting confetti on our table. She was very attentive and ensured we were pleased with our time there. Now to the reason I could only give this restaurant 1 star for the food...it was awful. I ordered the 7 oz filet mignon and it was extremely tough. My sister and mother ordered the shrimp scampi and it lacked flavor. My daughter ordered the Cajun chicken pasta and it was extremely soupy and my fiancé ordered the veal parmesan and the veal looked grey. Overall, the atmosphere was nice, it was nicely decorated and cozy. The cocktails and Amanda's excellent service were the best parts about our experience.
Classic American steakhouse with a family dining feel. Excellent food and service.
Old school in a good way. Food was great love the menu options. Had beef liver, hard to find well prepared. The whole reason I wanted to go was for the liver, but once the specials were desribed I wanted to try them. In the end I went with the liver and didn't regret it. Only downside was a musty bar smell as soon as you walk in. I would give ambiance higher level if not for that.
The food at Ken’s on Western is always delicious! Great menu selections...something for everyone!
Friendly, accommodating and terrific food! Love the relish tray, a nice touch! Thank u!
The young busboy Will was so very kind to us. My arm is in a sling and he offered to help us up, to the door and to our car. Lovely manners!
Awesome! Great food, especially the pizza bread
We love going to Ken’s it brings back great memories when the whole family would come up for dinner and the the food & service is as great as ever
Waitress was great! Prime rib was tough and my baked potatoe was 3 days old!
Our reserved table was ready for us when we arrived, our waiter was welcoming and seemed to enjoy taking care of us and the food was fine. There were a few shortcomings but nothing big enough to make our visit less than very good.
This was our first time there. I can’t believe I haven’t checked this place out in the 30 plus years I’ve lived here. Food was delicious, service was great.
Absolutely loved the warmth of this restaurant. The chopped steak, pasta and chicken piccata were excellent. Hostess, server and bartender were all friendly and welcoming. The band that night was really good, too. We loved this place and plan to return often. Now, for transparency, I must add that our table wasn't ready for about 45 minutes after we arrived. We ran into friends there who had also waited at least that long for their table. Not sure if this is a one night problem or an ongoing issue. However, it's a great place filled with good workers and customers alike.
My wife and I have eaten at Ken's many times and the food and service is always excellent! This visit to celebrate my wifes birthday was no exception. Started with the blackened shrimp and we both had filets and double baked potatoes. Wonderful!
It was a Wednesday night so we had personalized service due to it being slow. Our server was very sweet. The food portions were generous and tasty. This is a neighborhood gem that many may miss or overlook. You absolutely should go to have drinks, appetizers and or dinner. You wont be disappointed.
The noise level was very loud from the bar and the waitress was a little slow in taking our order after we ordered drinks. The food was very good.
Nice dinner and good service
The hostess, waitress and waiter were very hospitable and kind. The appetizers we had were very unique but tasty. I enjoyed the pickled peppers and the pizza cheese bread! The ambiance was nice and cozy.
I liked the noodle salad, pizza bread and vegetables that are given when you sit at the table.
I love, love, love Ken's! The food is always excellent as is the service. Probably one of my favorite restaurants.
The food was very good. My wife's dinner was the pork chop. It was cooked perfectly and she loved it.
I had the ribeye with a blue cheese sauce. It was very rich but delicious.
Our server was very attentive.
The food at Kens was delicious. Four out of the five of ordered different entries and everyone raved about their meal. The service was excellent! I highly recommend Ken’s..
The food was phenomenal! Service was excellent! We will be going back!
Surprised that there were not more patrons there. Unfortunately, the soup was barely warm but our entree was served quickly and we didn't have time to eat the soup! Thought the relishes were kind of skimpy.
I am on day 3 of norovirus after eating at Ken's. I will never return.
I really did enjoy the service here at Ken's, the waiter was nice and always asked how we were doing, also if we couldn't decide on what to eat she gave us a well thought out discription on what's on the menu and the soup of the day.
Excellent. Delicious food. Fabulous service. We will be back son
Great neighborhood spot. The people are awesome. They go out of their way to take care of you.
Wonderful atmosphere & an outstanding dinner.
Lovely Valentine’s Day at Ken’s!
We went to celebrate "Galentine". My sister had the bone in rib eye and said it was cooked and seasoned to perfection. The Chicken Vesuvio was in a heavy cream sauce; my daughter had never had it prepared that way before and preferred olive oil. I was looking forward to the Orange Roughy, however, it was not on the special Valentine's Day menu. I settled for a baked potato and salad.
Decor needs to be updated. The toilet seat in the women's bathroom was chipped.
