A true find. Parking on a Monday night was easy. Very friendly staff. Food was exceptional--I think it was better (obviously less fancy) that Mourad that has one Michelin star. Easy access to the freeway, in a new building. Very good size portions for both appetizers and main. Flavors were truly spectacular--complex, nicely spiced. Highly recommended.
Good ambience. Average food and service.
Authentic Moroccan food
Birthday dinner was amazing food.
It was a Sunday night out with friends, there were not many people in the restaurant. We enjoyed the atmosphere totally.
I do think the price is a bit steep for the price amount of food served.
The staff was friendly and the service was pretty fast. The food was nothing short of outstanding. We highly recommend Khamsa and will visit again when in San Francisco.
Authentic Moroccan and we ordered almost everything on the menu and was not disappointed by anything. So good, warm and authentic. A real find in the San Francisco area.
Came here with a few friends for a festive post concert holiday dinner and we were so delighted. Although it was chilly inside because they kept the door open for ventilation, everything else made up for it. The food was outstanding—the tagines and especially the tanjia were delicious and comforting stews, my friend and I devoured the marinated olives, and the baklava was hands down the best I’ve ever had—and the service was top notch, warm and friendly. On top of that, the presentation, the dishes themselves and the space are all lovely. It was a Sunday evening, and there were not many people there, which no doubt is why it wasn’t noisy, but even if crowded I would come back again in a heartbeat.
We just live this restaurant! It is a hidden gem. The food is delicious and the staff so kind and thoughtful. Thank you Khamsa. We will be back.
Food is delicious but portions are very small. The restaurant should provide more supplementary rice or couscous at a lower price and larger volume! Otherwise the restaurant was lovely and food beautiful and delicious :)
This is becoming my favorite SF restaurant (I have lived here for 30 years). Wonderful food + experience and outstanding outdoor space for eating.
Food was good but overall overpriced.
Nice outdoor seating but no Moroccan atmosphere.
Food was excellent and there's a nice sheltered outdoor patio. It's in a modern condo building and something about the decor felt a bit amiss, but that had no bearing on our dining experience.
Wow what a fun restaurant. Very cute and cozy. The food is excellent. Definitely get the Moroccan mint tea and the basteeya.
Amazing and kind service. Wonderful food.
Great food and outstanding service. Highly recommended!
Amazing food - every dish we had was excellent. We were a group of 5 and ordered a lot of small dished and 1 entree - (the khizo (carrots), chiflor (cauliflower), kahmsa salad, Mloukhia (okra), Labneh, Marinated Olives, Saffron rice with raisins, Tanjia (lamb), the labneh - and we were very happy. The Sevilen Syrah (Turkish) was earthy, dry and wonderful.
Would really like to go back there.
The Zaalouk was delicious. So was the Lamb Tajina. Great service. I'll be back! The mint tea was delicious with verbena.
My second visit. Excellent. We had four dishes and all were very happy with their food.
Delicious flavors attentive staff beautiful environment. I was amazed. I look forward to returning. I wish I could make those flavors at home.
Food was good, but fairly expensive when you added the courses up
Lovely outdoor dining area. Great food. Small non alcoholic drink choices but satisfying.
Excellent time was had. Great food, great service
Friend,y wait staff, delicious food. Wulldefiniyely go back.
Great Food, Great Service, Great Atmosphere, Great Time!!
Fantastic food. Attentive service. Will be back!
The patio was pleasant if you are looking for an outdoor place to dine during the pandemic. The food was good, but not exceptional. The service was friendly but inexperienced. With tip the final tab was nearly $100 per person which seemed high for this caliber of restaurant.
Visited just once, we three friends who are all over 60. It was a cold night and we chose indoor dining. The decor is welcoming and evocative. Fortunately, indoors wasn't very crowded. The servers were attentive - refilling our teapot, for example - but unobtrusive.
My friends each ordered a lamb dish. While their eyebrows shot up at the large portion sizes, each gentleman cleaned his plate. I ate a chicken tagine, and was a bit embarassed by how rapidly I shoveled that delicious food into my mouth! This was after we had made 2 vegetable appetizers disappear. I can't attest that the flavors are authentic -- I have almost no experience with Moroccan cuisine -- but I can say that everything I tried was tasty.
We chatted with the owner on our way out the door. He's a terrifically hard-working immigrant and rightfully proud of his endeavor. Warm, friendly young man who evoked his family even in our short conversation.
Note that the neighborhood remains sketchy: I'm not a sissy, but would not have ventured there without escort.
Overall, food was just decent. Service was great though. Very noisy inside.
The food and ambiance were very good
We had a wonderful meal. Outdoor seating is beautiful, all the food was delicious. I was with 6 people and we all enjoyed our meal immensely. We will be coming back!
Delicious, nourishing food. Cute interior and patio space -- would come again. I loved the chicken bastille appetizer and the duck main course. Very tender and flavorful.
The setting is very nice. The staff were very pleasant. Sadly the food was just not very good. My salmon was in a bowl of vegetables and broth. It should have been described as soup. No spices that I could detect. My husband had lamb which was similarly in a broth with no flavor/spice. Our total bill was very large and we wished we had spent that money at a restaurant with much better food.
Really nice experience. This was our first time visiting. Our service was perfect and we loved all of our food and wine.
Great atmosphere indoors and awesome outdoor patio. The food was very good and the staff although very casual, were helpful and great. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Excellent food and service! Must try the duck tagine, chiflor (cauliflower) and calamar (spicy calamari) appetizers, and baklava!
I am highly recommended. Food was great, amazing service
