We really enjoyed our experience! The food and drinks were good and the restaurant itself was amazing!!
Great food, great service, lovely views. Music was way too loud and hard to hear across the table. There is also a lot of smoke That they out out for ambiance which makes it even hotter upstairs and hard to breathe for anyone with any kind of breathing problems.
Second time there, and only because my daughter wanted to check it out. Food is NOTHING special per the usual, and paper napkins are HORRIBLE when trying to be upscale. What also turned me off was when the waiter was hovering over my daughter's shoulder when she was calculating tip. I also ordered a Sprite, don't you think it's cheesy to actually bring the unopened can out with a glass of ice? Why not pour it in the back? Don't bring a can out and leave on the table SMH.... They need to bring their FOOD AND PROPER ETIQUETTE UP if they want to continue to charge that much. Sorry Kin Toh, just keeping it real!
An unforgettable experience and perfect service always! A must see, we come every year just for Azulik..
This was not the first time we went to Kin Toh. We have had wonderful experience in previous year. We came back to Kin Toh this year and this time had a very bad experience: our meal was outrageously expensive (about 8000 Mexican pesos, ie approx 450 US Dollars for two)! The food was this time not good at all (we took the four course tasting menu). We took a local (Mexican) red wine bottle which was very average (bottle price around 3000 Mexican pesos). The service took forever. We have been very disappointed and it is a shame to pay so much for so little value (the only interesting thing is really the restaurant atmosphere and decor which are indeed very special). We will not come back.
This was an amazing experience. The whole evening was like artwork- the restaurant itself, the ambience, the food and the service was top-notch. The food got better and better every course. My ash cooked lamb was outstanding. But the desserts were next-level cuisine! I highly advise getting at least 4 out of the six. Honestly I wish we would have tried ALL of them!! Thank you to the attentive staff for such a great evening. ($$$$, but worth it)
Perfect place for a drink and MAYBE one app or dessert. The ambiance is like no other, but unfortunately the food is not up to par here. I wanted to love this place but the food was some of the most disappointing I’ve had in a while, even for Mexico.
So good! Beautiful grounds and amazing service! A must see place when visiting Tulum!
The place is outstanding, it really is like nothing you've seen before and there is a lot of attention to detail. The food was really good but the best thing was definitely our waiter Sim who was extremely kind and gave us a tour of the cellar and the "nests".
Amazing place ! Amazing vibes ! We loved it ! The food also outstanding . Thank you
Great date atmosphere. Food was very good. No complaints!
I do not recommend this place for dinner at all. We booked this night months ago when we learned that there are two time-slots: 6 and 8pm. We booked at 6 - because we wanted to see the sunset. The lady in yellow walked us to a table in the middle of the restaurant site, while there was a table free at the window. I asked her if we could have that one. ‘That one is reserved’ she said. ‘Too bad I didn’t mention ‘window table’ in my reservation request, next time better’ I thought. 30 minutes later the table at the window was still not taken. I asked the lady in yellow again if we could sit there (since the time slot was already over) - but she said no. The worst thing is, the table remained free the whole time we were there! So extremely rude.
And I didn’t even mention the quality of the restaurant yet: they gave us chardonnay whilst we asked for sauvignon blanc, the tuna steak was very nice, but the truffle pasta didn’t taste like truffle at all, and the napkins.. I have never seen these in a restaurant that claims itself to be a ‘star restaurant’.
However, the architecture is magical I have to admit. Definitely worth visiting when you are in Tulum. Just go for a drink at the bar (which is next to the restaurant site) where you have the same breathtaking view of the jungle (and of course can take the famous pictures).
The bugs are BAD!!! EACH TABLE NEEDS A FAN AND BUG SPRAY!! IT WAS ALSO VERY HOT. fOR AN INCREDIBLE VENUE WITH GREAT FOOD THEY NEED TO FIX THE HEAT & BUG PROBLEM. MADE FOR AN UNCOMFORTABLE DINNER.
Started off that staff refused tips twice via card, insisting it had to be in Cash when we didn’t have any. Then we had shisha and asked them to confirm the price numerous times before ordering. They increased the price at the end from $10 to $250. Insane. Fortunately they removed that crazy price. The service was shocking at this stage. The service with the meal was good and the food was satisfactory/decent but not amazing for the price.
The place looks really nice.
Eating in chinese plates with paper towels is really cheap!
The food is ok but can’t be qualified as gastronomic. Quantity miserable.
For « gringos » with low standard expectations but who can afford to spend a lot of money to show off.
Won’t recommend the place.
The ambiance is incredible, food is even better and the views from up top on the canopy are breath taking! Perfect place for any special occasion.
Lots of mosquitos
Awesome venue and great staff. But terrible food, we were left disappointed after ordering all of the most popular dishes from the menu. The food was tasteless and basic. The steak had no flavour, as though it had been cooked frozen. And the lamb serving was tiny. Both dishes were expensive for what you received.
The ambiance and food was great. I enjoyed the drink the mixologist made for me and the staff was very attentive and explained each dish.
The ambiance was gorgeous but the food was terrible. Two different dishes my husband and I didn’t even take a second bite. Nope. Great cocktails though... We were super excited to spend our honeymoon last meal there but the people were kind of rude
Being a part of Azulik ... Kin Toh was obviously an amazing visual experience. We had a group of 4 and the service was impeccable. Every dish was amazing ... good portions and the prices were reasonable considering this is one of the highest end hotels. Great music playing ... the mosquitos on the property did not let up but our server brought us some oil for our skin that helped since we didn’t have bug spray with us.
Amazing atmosphere and experience for my birthday but I would love if you all added more vegan options as I only had one option to choose from, and larger portions. Other than that my family and I loved the element concept and eco-friendly ambiance! The pictures can our beautiful.
Hands down one of the most incredible restaurants I've ever been to. Not only was the setting to die-for (the most instagrammable place I've ever been) but the service and food were equally phenomenal. I came here for my birthday and wasn't feeling very well. But the staff did everything in their power to make sure it was incredible. The presentation of the food was top notch and the taste worthy of any Michelin star restaurant. At the end of our dinner, our waitress escorted us to the wine cellar where I was surprised with dessert. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Tulum and looking for a memorable experience.
Incredibly bad service - servers first day or was drunk
Food was subpar - apple chamomile was cold soupy apple slices and ice chips with tapioca. Horrible
2nd time going, first time one year ago was 3.5-4/5 stars. This time 1/5. Losing class quickly
I love this hotel for the decor and aesthetic but the food itself was subpar. Practically everything we ordered was extremely salty. The baked oysters were amazing and the only exception but the steak, the corn and the shrimp were all pretty salty. It was hard to finish which is a shame considering how expensive this place is. I think sticking to just evening cocktails is key.
Service and food not great.. beautiful space and very unique. There is a minimum spend for the nests of $1000 and $500 for the beds. We couldn’t finish our dinner because of the mosquito attack.
I suggest going there for drinks instead at sunset on their rooftop bar
Incredible venue. One of the most impressive looking restaurants I’ve ever been to. I was underwhelmed with the food but the atmosphere was worth the price. I would recommend going when there is still some daylight. We ate after dark and it was very romantic but we couldn’t see anything beyond the room we were in. Being in the treetops, the view is half the experience!
Staffs are very respectful and approachable. The place is unique!
Absolutely wonderful night and food!
Heard recommendations. Very nice place. Except for many mosquitoes.
While we chose to celebrate my 30th birthday in style, I wish we chose to eat at the sister restaurant Tseen-Ja, which has had its doors closed for the whole month of September.
If you care for food, service or ambiance please do not eat here.
Our server Juan was amazing. The space is great. Food was incredible.
The service at Kin Toh was outstanding! The staff was very attentive and made sure nothing was missing from our table. The restaurant itself was beautiful but a little bit dark. I think we would have had a better experience had we visited the restaurant during the day or right at sunset. Everyone in my party thought the restaurant was too dark, we found ourselves using our phone to light up the menu and food.
The food was the most disappointing part given the price. Dinner for each person came out to be approximately $120 dollars!! The food was inconsistent. Some of the dishes were great, like the octopus. Others were not as tasty and given the price tag we were all expecting the food to be outstanding.
Amazing and helpful servers. Delicious food. Great ambiance. Does get pretty dark as the main dining area is lit almost exclusively with candles. Also, if you’re planning to do a sunset dinner, be warned the bugs come out soon after it sets. Overall, enjoyable experience and great for photos!
The whole experience was great, the only thing I would have to say is we had a couple of people enter our private table on the hammock and we had to tell them several times to leave as it was a private event. The website says $1000.00 USD for the Pod but when you do arrive that was not the case, it's much higher. So my expectation was that my group and I were going to dine in the POD but that was not the case.
We had the time of our lives at Kin Toh. I read many bad reviews but our experience was nothing short of perfect. Our waiter, Juan, was so nice and helpful. When they weren’t serving us, they were standing nearby waiting to be of help and pulled our chairs anytime anyone stood to walk away. The food was incredible. We tried most all of the appetizers and a lot of the dinner plates. Everything was fresh, cooked with fine detail, and delicious. Try the espresso martini - it’s the best I’ve ever had!! And not to mention, the restaurant itself. Wow!! It’s the coolest place I’ve ever been. The detail of every part of the building is impeccable. I wish I could go everyday!
