Amazing and helpful servers. Delicious food. Great ambiance. Does get pretty dark as the main dining area is lit almost exclusively with candles. Also, if you’re planning to do a sunset dinner, be warned the bugs come out soon after it sets. Overall, enjoyable experience and great for photos!
We had the time of our lives at Kin Toh. I read many bad reviews but our experience was nothing short of perfect. Our waiter, Juan, was so nice and helpful. When they weren’t serving us, they were standing nearby waiting to be of help and pulled our chairs anytime anyone stood to walk away. The food was incredible. We tried most all of the appetizers and a lot of the dinner plates. Everything was fresh, cooked with fine detail, and delicious. Try the espresso martini - it’s the best I’ve ever had!! And not to mention, the restaurant itself. Wow!! It’s the coolest place I’ve ever been. The detail of every part of the building is impeccable. I wish I could go everyday!
Overpriced for food and drinks. It’s a beautiful place and setting, extremely Instagram friendly, but unfortunately that’s it. There are a lot better eateries in Tulum with exceptional dishes for half the price than those available at Kin Toh.
Kin Toh is a really beautiful restaurant but sadly we found it to be style over substance. I had chewy lobster, too salty tuna and ok quality supermarket wine for the wine pairing. For a meal that came in at $280 for two people this was a shame. We’ve definitely eaten in much better restaurants for this price. The waiters were standing around chatting whilst we ate too and it ruined the atmosphere a bit. I would definitely recommend going for a drink as the building is incredible and worth seeing - but be wary that the food probably isn’t worth the price.
Was fab. Absolute amaze!
We had a good experience. However, some points would need improvment:
1. We notified the man at the entrance that we will come for the 30th birthday of my girlfriend. He told us that he will make sure we would have a great experience but we got the table near the restrooms when we arrived. We were expecting something else for this special moment.
2. The restaurant is too dark, it's really hard to read the menu and to see properly what is in your plate. The restrooms are even worse.
3. Service is too fast. At the time our plate was finished the waiter took it out from the table. Also, the time between plates is too short, it is important for us to take our time when we enjoy different plates.
4. Related to point 3, we asked to the waiter if we could wait for 10 to 15 minutes to get the desert but he declined our request because the chef couldn't (I don't know exactly why...). Again, we would have expected more agility and consumer service from a "highend" restaurant.
One of our worst experiences - service was horrible & extremely overpriced. Overall, there is absolutely no hospitality within this property. Starting with the host stand, no warm welcoming, no eye contact, no real greeting, and waited around for 10 minutes before we were even acknowledged. After being seated, we weren't greeted for 5-10 minutes then was served water - he never came back to go over the menu, make suggestions, or ask what we would like to drink. We had to ask for a wine list, no recommendations from the server & it took another 5 minutes before we received that. The Sommelier brought the wine & it was not presented/served properly & he was not the most friendly either. Then waited another 10+ minutes before a server came back to ask us if we were ready to order - again no warm welcome, no overview of the restaurant / menu. The menu was in Spanish so we did our best to decipher it & asked the server if he could go over the menu with us but he didn't understand what we were asking so we asked for some recommendations. At this point we were really frustrated so we asked to speak with the manager and explained our experience thus far and he didn't seem to understand/care that we had such a poor experience. He then realized we weren't given the English menus so left with the server to change them out & we never saw him again. We finally ordered then was brought out the amuse bouche & bread and while the server was explaining what everything was our appetizers came out. We asked the server if he would please make sure the entrees didn't come out until we finished the appetizer & even then our food came out quickly after which they sent back to the kitchen until we were ready. The food was ok, nothing special, and definitely not worth the price / hype. We finished up and as we were leaving not a single person said bye, not even the host nor valets at the front door. Very unique restaurant but would only recommend having a drink at the bar to check it out.
Als je een gevoel van luxe wilt tijdens je etentje, is dit restaurant een goede plek daarvoor. Het eten is wat duur, maar vooral de wijn is buitenproportioneel duur (minimaal €15 per glas).
OVERALL GREAT EXPERIENCE... FROM THE FOOD TO THE SERVICE. I would highly recommend ordering dishes you have never tried before. Its worth it. After all, be adventurous!

Everyone was very friendly. Food tasted amazing! The view was spectacular! Highly recommend it. (Order the fettuccine... you won’t regret it)

Overall great service, but probably not enough well aired, due to the fact that the wind doesn't circulate properly and it gets warm.
Last but not least: dress code should be respected and people showing up with flip flops and a too casual attire should be prevented from entering. IT'S NOT CLASSY.
Such a wonderful experience. The portions were smaller than I expected but the food was excellent. Killer views and atmosphere too. I highly recommend it.
Kin Toh space is beautiful but the food was not the best I had in Tulum it was overpriced for the amount of food as we didn’t have any sides with entrees and the portions were small. The service was average. Good to go for a drink and the experience but I won’t be going back or recommending this place:

The food was incredible. Drinks were unique and delicious. The service was what made the experience even more enjoyable, if that’s even possible. Have to give mention to our waitress, Monserrat. She went above and beyond to ensure me and my friends had the best time.
El general el restaurante es increible! La comida es muy buena. Sin embargo todo iba perfecto teníamos un nest y estos tienen un consumo mínimo... todo iba perfecto hasta que preguntamos a la mesera cuanto faltaba de credito de lo que teniamos disponibles y decia que aun teniamos muchisimo pedimos que entôces trajera una botella de tequila para toda la mesa todo iba bien dijo que no debiamos ya nada pagamos y pusimos el tip... cuando de un momento a otro llega y dice que se deben 135 dólares extra pues ella PENSO que estaban tomando el dolar a un valor y nos dios otro... ESOOO no puede pasar en un restaurante con un mesero que comete un error al cambio del dolar es inaudito! Pedimos em manager nunca llego! Luego de pasar 3000 dolares por todo lo de la mesa y la mesera dice que debemos mas dinero porque nos pasamos 135 dolares luego de que todo el tiempo preguntamos que cuando credito queda y nos salen con que el dolar lo estab’ tomando diferente! Ella como no va a saber eso! Donde esta el servicio al cliente! Increible nunca llego el manager lo esperamos y nada y nos toco irnos pues teniamos otra reservacion en otro lugar...! Increible lo triste es que todo en el restaurante y la comoda es espectacular sin embargo despues de lo que sucedio creo no volveremos.Nos sentimos como si fuera una trampa para turistas !
Nice place!! Food was ok, service was not ok.
It definitely has the cool factor. But it is overwhelmingly hot. They have to figure out air circulation, which is only magnified by the volume of incense used! And the beauty of the culinary experience is thwarted by how dark it is - the food is fantastic but it’s a little disorienting that it’s served in a way that you can’t see it. And it’s not meant to be one of those “dine in the dark” places. We really enjoyed our waiter and the flavors. But wouldn’t return due to how strangely uncomfortable it was.
I NEVER leave reviews but felt compelled to for Kin Toh because they need some lessons in fine dining. I am not picky and am usually easily satisfied with good hospitality, ambiance, great service and good food. The only thing Kin Toh has going for it is ambiance. While that is world class and probably as beautiful and unusual as you will ever come across, the service and food are far from fine. In fact I would classify it sub par compared to many places in Tulum. They need to send their staff to Hartwood, Arca, Wild, Rosanegra and Mia to learn good service and great food. I’ve had better food at the airport. They should get a new chef and again, go to eat at some of the places I’ve mentioned that know how to make great food and provide good service and hospitality. I Would HIGHLY recommend to go for cocktails and to take some amazing photographs but stop there.
Oh... and one last thing.... $200 USD for corkage? Even Hartwood charges $40 USD which is acceptable. $200 USD is ridiculous to open a bottle of outside wine....and uninformed in the world of fine dining. I can go to a 3 star Michelin restaurant in San Francisco or NYC and pay $40-$50 USD. It is normal to pay $15-$30 in most restaurants in the US. You need to learn a few things Kin Toh..... but thanks for the great photos!
I was REALLY excited to eat at Kin Toh but I have to say, it wasn't the best meal I ate in Tulum. The open-air restaurant is amazing, but we were seated at a very hot and enclosed table, and a mosquito dined on us the entire time we dined! I would give it another shot if given the opportunity but wouldn't make this my #1 stop on my list.
Was an amazing restaurant however the food wasn’t the best my friends didn’t enjoy what they ordered an the only thing that was nice that I order was my main which was the vegan cauliflower. However the restaurant itself was amazing and the service could not of been better
Food great with beautiful interiors. Staff was extremely unprepared and did not match the level of the food. They do not really try to accommodate guests. With those prices, everything should be well above average. Service unfortunately was not.

This restaurant is the most beautiful, out of this world place you will ever step into. We had a 7:30 dinner reservation and came early to walk around and check out the place. There’s not many areas that you’re able to wander other than sitting at your table which was a little disappointing as I’m sure we could have fallen in love even more and wanted to return.
We started with drinks at the small bar and the bartender was awesome! You just tell him the liquor you want and a little about your flavor pallet and he creates! I requested he make my drink again once we sat at the restaurant, it was that good.
Being end of July when we came, it was HOT. As beautiful and tranquil this place was, it’s uncomfortable when you get dressed up for a nice dinner and have to endure that kind of heat.
The food was OK. We started with the oysters which I enjoyed but he husband thought were just OK. I got the catch of the day (sea bass which is my fav. Fish) and my husband the ribeye. The fish was over cooked, I honestly didn’t enjoy it much... the ribeye was cooked perfect but it was super lean... it really didn’t taste like a cut of ribeye... with that said, it was still amazing!
It was so hot we couldn’t sit through dessert so we left and opted to get somewhere else.
Price equates to the ambiance... it’s what we would of expected for a nice dinner out. For the price, the service could of been a bit better though.
Overall, our experience was awesome here mainly because of the overall other dimension you are transported into when you come here.
We had a great experience at Kin Toh. From the moment we walked in everyone was friendly and greeted us. The service was amazing, Arturo was very friendly and informative of all the drinks and dishes that were served. He also gave us a tour after dinner which was nice. Came here for the experience and scenery and I am so glad we decided to come here. Will definitely be coming here again! If you are visiting Tulum I would highly recommend dining at Kin Toh. You will be blown away by the beauty of this restaurant.
Beyond amazing! Our servers Fermin and Miguel were outstanding! Super attentive, welcoming and knowledgeable. Views and atmosphere cannot be beat anywhere so we stayed and enjoyed for quite some time without ever feeling rushed. Honestly, a dreamy night worth every penny!
The service was very mediocre, the food was salty and over cooked, and the ambiance was extremely hot and humid. We requested air fans but they said they did not have any. On a Friday night they were at about 30% capacity at 9PM, we asked for a table outside and the minimum was a $2,000 minimum for a party of 8 to sit outside. What was also surprising for what they are charging is that they had paper towels as napkins and Nespresso plates for the limes and bread, for a USD$90 dollar average ticket they need have plates and service up to par. Very disappointed overall, not what I expected.
From the moment you are greeted, the setting captivates your attention. I felt like we were dining in jungle treehouse! The waitstaff was knowledgeable and attentive. Our waiter made suggestions for each course and explained the ingredients and what to expect, since many ingredients are indigenous to the culture and region. The food was out of the world! Everyone in our party enjoyed the shared appetizers and their main course. The presentation was another thoughtful touch. This was definitely a sensory captivating experience and it was one of the highlights of our trip to Tulum!
Everything about this place is so beautiful. The food was amazing, the fettuccine with truffle and the rib eye were out of this world.
The restaurant is very picturesque, the staff are really friendly and professional, and all of the food is beautifully presented. However, it was incredibly warm inside as the ceiling fans weren't very effective, super dark and although it was nice to be in the tree tops, the view from our hostel's rooftop bar was better as you could see over the jungle (instead of over a road). The food was good, but not as good as we expected for the price (compared to restaurants in London that charge similar amounts). We went for the tasting menu with the pairing option, and the amount of wine poured for each course is quite small (we felt a bit short changed!) – so you'd probably be better just to order a bottle instead. Overall it was a cool experience, but I don't think it was really worth the price we paid.
Es war ein supertollen Abend. Wir hatten die Lounge außen mitten in der Natur uns gegönnt. Es ist nur schade dass das Konzept nicht richtig erklärt wird, mit den Tischen drinnen oder die Lounge aussen mit al. Inkl. Wir würden jederzeit wieder kommen, das Essen war Hammer. Aber dann eher das Cocktail Arrangement in der Bar mit fantastischen Blick und dann Essen an den Tischen außen. Das kann man sich ab und zu für einen besonderen Abend gönnen.
The food is really something, the work the cheffs do with every dish is really outstanding. It is worth each peso. We an amazing experience!!!
