We went with 3 appetizers and an entree. The Anticuchos (beef hearts) were truly succulent...mmmm! The Tuna Tartare with Rocoto/Tamarinfo sauce with Yucca Chips were delish :)
Potato chip smothered Dungeness Crab was truly unique...mmmm mmmm good! Entree was seasonal Swordfish with mushrooms and mussels, clams and shrimp, accompanoed by coconut rice abd a side of fresh garlic smothered bread. The variety of sauces including aji amarillo and fresh pure rocoto, were authentic and pure pleasure!
We absolutely love La Costanera, and especially Ivonne and Maggie! Thank you for a wonderful evening!!
Exceptional food and service.
We love this restaurant! We had tapas and were stuffed. Our waiter Edgar was amazing. Had a great answer for every question and amazing recommendations! Only down side very loud upstairs but lots of fun
You can come here for the gorgeous views, but really, I want to come here for the great food. All six of us loved what we ordered, from the paella to the crab cakes to the fish of the day to the scallops. and oh, the mac and cheese! the sauces really make every dish. and the service is simply perfect. we will be back!
I made reservations 6 days ahead of time for a party of 7 and requested window table.
I then called 3 days before the reservation date and asked if they had my request for a window table.
I was told they see my request and will try to accommodate if there is an available table but can’t guarantee .
They open at 5
We arrived 4:30 to make sure we will be first in line to get a window table but when we walked in the hostess told us they don’t give window table for a party of six.
The table they gave us was the farthest from the window.
When I called I wish they would have told me that their policy is not to have a table for 7 by the window
On top of it it was so noisy that we could hardly hear each other.
The only good thing was that our server was pleasant lady and serviable
Instead of winter solstice go when days are longer to enjoy the ocean along with great food and cocktails.
Great food, beautiful place
Good appetizers and drinks, paella not so good. Ahi tuna pretty good and pork main dish was outstanding
We had an excellent dinner with an out of town friend of 45 years. Ceviches were the best. Ribs and shrimp were good. The Albarino and Tempranillo were very good. The waiter was highly professional, will ing to describe dishes and not intrusive.
Food was good. The service was rushed, they wanted us to get done quickly. Disappointing night
Very nice server and great food!
Normally satisfied with this restaurant. Last time out, the food was just OK.
Delicious flavor, the tapas and ceviche were better than the chefs other locations. Lamb was a tad bit overcooked and not as good as Piqueos but still a great venue and value
Really lovely dinner! Beautiful presentation! Generous portions for a tapas menu. The beef skewers were amazing. Loved all the pisco cocktails! View is hard to beat! One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time!
Absolutely amazing! Great service. Delicious food. We got engaged here a few years ago!
Amazing as always
Very cold. Meals when the restaurant is freezing are a waste of money. Won’t go back unless the restaurant is crowded
It was disappointing. Rude service when we got there and very average food.
It was our wedding anniversary and we love Peruvian food. La Costanera did not disappoint...great food, ambience and service.
Great place to spend our anniversary! We loved it!
Very good food! Very good service! Way way too expensive
One of my favorite places outside SF. Amazing food drinks and view , during the day. I strongly recommend !
The view is amazing. The service staff was pleasant and made great recommendations. The food was very well prepared and tasted excellent. A great evening.
We had an amazing meal. The food was so delicious. Everything we ordered tasted amazing and we will definitely be back soon. We were lucky enough to be seated at the edge of the restaurant nearest the ocean and had the most amazing view.
The only criticism we had, was that the table service was a bit slow. The food was not slow in coming out and came out at a nice pace, but the service from our server could have been better. They were extremely nice, we just wished they were a bit more 'on it'. It felt like they forgot a drink or two and we had to ask for water several times.
But all in all, amazing.
I have been wanting to come here since they opened. I walked in to see the beautiful ocean right in front of me. The wall to wall w
Loved this place - delicious food, great service, beautiful views! Made for such a memorable night. Our kids loved everything too!
Excellent just wish it was a little quieter .
Enjoyed the food and of course great place for sunset. But DON'T park your car here - friends' car window was smashed out, camera stolen. I'm letting this affect my restaurant review becasue 1) they told me this happens all the time to the point they have security on the weekend in the parking lot 2) they were less than helpful as we tried to contact the police, etc. So they should at least have signs out regarding frequent break ins, and they really should have a secuirity person out there. Then, if it happens they should help out. They did eventually say they were going to give us plastic etc to cover the window. It was kind of a "yeah, this happens all the time" response. Reflects a lack of complete lack of customer service!
Great restaurant with amazing views and extraordinary food. My hysband and I have been dining here at least 4-5 times a year and have never been dissapointed with the food or service. The Yuca balls, the mushroom & spinach empanada and the mac'n'cheese are to die for small plates, and all the seazonal options from the entree list freshly sourced from local farms or local fishermen, are always a hit. We highly recommend this pleace!
Just the best Peruvian restaurant in SF. With an exceptional view right on Montara Beach in Half Moon Bay on Cabrillo Highway. Close to the city.
Great food in a beautiful setting, but very expensive.
Also, wine corkage $50 a bottle after two. We had a group of six,
so three bottles were perfect.
Great place but just too expensive.
For very special events only.
Amazing from the flavorful food ( Peruvian decent speaking) the view is breathtaking.
My nephew and I had a great dinner. Our see as was very attentive and awesome. As Alabama food was excellent.
This is one of the most beautiful places to eat--and to watch sunset. It is a special event place. The wait persons were helpful with suggestions about ordering and sharing. Portions are excellent. I was only a bit disappointed that a private party did not allow us to sit outside the bar on the patio.
Awesome drinks, sunset, food and friends
The food was overpriced
A Manhattan for 16.00 was a RIP off...
The food was delicious
Two cookies for 9.00 was a RIP off...
Waitress was great
Total bill of 160.00 was too high...
Great food and service on our anniversary.
My wife and I had a great time. We had very great service , great food and a beautiful sunset to go along with it . Oh they have a great wine list too. Thank you
The original Pisco sours were delicious, they tasted a little like lemon meringue pie. The scallops were delicious, and the boiled corn and mustard sauce paired well. Then the grilled octopus was also really good,
The lava cake was good but not exceptional and the double espresso mediocre.
