House made potato gnocchi - balsamic reduction gorgonzola dolce sauce or tomato basil sauce
This was our fifth time back at this wonderful restaurant. Chef Ron is amazingly talented and never disappoints. The cod special with scallops over lentils was perfectly cooked and presented. My husband has had a lot of veal dishes at various Italian restaurants over the years but LOVES their Veal Saltimbocca and ordered it again last night. Perfect sauce! Appetizers-especially the fresh burrata , perfectly textured and balanced w/prosciutto and pears - was heavenly. They make most of their own desserts as well. Pleasant and attentive wait staff. Can't wait to go back.
Gnocchi too dense and hard. Veal was tender but smothered in tomato sauce. Server did not understand a 3 course Italian dinner.
Every time we come here it’s amazing!!! Never a disappointment!!! Love this place
Excellent ! The food was delicious. The service warm, friendly and attentive without being overbearing. I have dined here on many occasions and the staff always goes out of their way to make you feel at home.
The food is excellent and the service is great .The patio experience is calming
This was our third dinner at La Cucina. We keep coming back because the food is terrific, the service is great, and we want to taste everything on the menu. Our only negative comment would be that the chicken dishes seemed to be a little too well done for our taste-the chicken seemed a bit dry. Other than that, we just love, love, love this place! A great value in a lovely spot.
It was extremely warm in the restaurant and the owner had attitude about turning the air down. The thermostat said 81 degrees. The waitstaff was very nice but overworked and therefore the service was very slow. They were also sweating from the heat. The food was actually very good. I would not return because I couldn’t stand the owner
Boo for you! This place has potential but not last night. What horrible experience. This place should hire Restaurant Rescue!, seated immediately because we had reservations and was greeted by our waitress Sierra. She was a delight. This place was overly noisy. Many decibels. I had to turn my hearing aides off and it was still loud. The meal was average. I will say great calamari. Very fresh. My meal was Luke warm and sent it back. It came back the same so I sent it back....and don’t bring it back. Our waitress was very apologetic but it was not her fault. The food here is just average. Under staffed. May return but not on the weekend.
Great food. Served in a timely manner. Hosts were not very friendly. Overall great experience.
Superior service. Average food
This is our favorite restaurant. Everyone is so welcoming with excellent service. The food is DELICIOUS and reasonably priced. The white linen table cloths give it an elegant touch. It used to be a hidden gem. But now it is a wel-known gem. The owner is so deserving of success! He works very hard at his craft.
The service was wonderful, we sat out in the courtyard , it was lovely ,we had a great salad-superfood Salad ,delish.BUT My entrée Swordfish special was terribly overcooked, dry and chewy! What upsets me about that , is it was the special and it wasn’t special !!! I think that if you were going to serve fish at a restaurant ithat’s been in business enough years to serve it correctly ….no excuses! There was a red sauce under the fish, green pesto on top of the fish and still dried out! !
I will continue to patronize the restaurant with hopes oh that it will not happen again!
The waitress was excellent and the food was very good.
Andrea was our server and she was very attentive 😃
wonderful server named ciera, very polite and efficient.
mushroom risotto was delicious.
have never had a bad meal here.
Service was slow (we sat for 10-plus minutes without seeing a server, and had a long wait for our check when we were ready to leave). The food was quite tasty, but I have to say, I think this establishment GROSSLY underplays the fact that it has NO WINE OR BEER. Perhaps that's no big deal if you are a local, or even a visitor with a car, but we were out-of-towners relying on Uber, so when our waiter -- rather unapologetically -- told us "it's BYOB here" and that the nearest wine to be bought was a five-minute drive, that was the end of what was supposed to be a pleasant evening. It's absolutely unconscionable for any restaurant, much less an Italian one, to limit its disclosure on both its own website and on OpenTable (where it's concealed unless you scroll and peek between boxes to locate it) to a single occurrence of the term "BYOB" -- not spelled out, not explained, not highlighted. It's hard to believe that there isn't a deliberate effort to conceal the lack of a liquor license going on here, but in any event, the proprietors should be ashamed of themselves. Or maybe they're content to limit their custom to their regular local customers. if so, maybe they should be running a dry dining club instead of a place of public accommodate. Really a disappointment.
Beautiful night to eat outdoors. Attentive and friendly waitstaff. Meal paced nicely. Food delicious.
Good but loud. Eat outside if u can. Service was excellent!
Excellent server named Christina. Very sweet. Food was fabulous. We already made a reservation for two weeks from now.
Food was good but nothing memorable. Service was very good. Atmosphere was lovely in outdoor courtyard.
We felt rushed during the entire meal. Waitress did not want to do separate checks even though it was mentioned as soon as we sat down. Piece of metal in our desert. They took the desert off the bill but management never came to the table to see how I was doing or apologize. Very disappointing
My wife and I met a few friends for dinner and it was out first timing dining. The food was very good and the service could not have been more helpful. We had a very big rain storm about an hour into our dining outdoors and they carefully moved everyone under cover so we could enjoy our dinner.
One of my favorites. We have been going here for years. It is consistently excellent. Service and food is always good. We usually sit outside when able. It’s a lively setting. We have taken many friends there and never had a bad meal.
Food was great
It was pretty loud
The food is generally very good with a large range of items. Unfortunately the kitchen was understaffed and it took 45 minutes for our appetizers to arrive. The waitress wasn't overly concerned and not very responsive. The entrees took another 30 minutes. Since we were near the kitchen we also noted several items being packed up for takeout. If the kitchen can't handle the diners in the restaurant maybe the takeout should be stopped. We were not the only table waiting way too long for food.
Excellent dinners, excellent service. We had a party of 7 people and everyone (some first timers) can't wait to return. Soup to nuts a great restauant.
Lovely lunch on the patio with my granddaughter & her Mom. All three entrees were delicious - even to our rather fussy 5-year-old eater - who DEVOURED her gelato as well!
Servers were overwhelmed food was ok but long wait servers were nice however and tried hard
Took 90 minutes to get food.
Very disappointed. Food was poor and waitress didn’t even ask how it was. Food was raw. Waited a very long time.
Our server was very good but getting food out to the table was slow.
Salmon was undercooked and the appetizer comes out after the entree. The beef short ribs were superb, nevertheless
Service and food was excellent. One of the best Italian restaurant in the area.
Food is delicious !!! Service is great. very friendly atmosphere. always goid
Originally was going to sit outside, but with temps in the nineties we decided to eat indoors. A wonderful menu. It was hard to choose. I finally opted for the tuna flatbread with melted flatbread. It was delicious and came with a side salad. My friend got the garden salad with salmon. She enjoyed that. Service was good. A lovely lunch!
Delicious, nice outdoor patio. Waiter was wonderful.
Sat at a folding table where the legs impeded comfort.
Otherwise, a wonderful evening!
Great local restaurant. Food is always fresh and beautifully presented. One of our favorites! Christina, our waitress, is lovely.
I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at La Cucina. We were seated promptly. Our server was very nice and accommodating. The food was quite good, particularly the polenta, and deserts. Definitely a bit of a hidden gem in Northfield!
Good meal great service! Very busy
