The tapas are wonderful. The service was great, Victor is an excellent server.
Restaurant canceled reservation two hours before we dined, without any explanation
Atmosphere was too cold and cafeteria like.
I had table reservation for 8 people but when I got there they didn't have my table. I have used OpenTable to reserved a table there many times before and this is the first time this has happened. I am very disappointed.
Delicious food, time and time again!
Good Food but service was not good
Good Food, yummy sangria. Brunch should include unlimited tapas, not just sangria. Service could be faster and more responsive.
Not recommended, we have a bad experience xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Now I know why this place was virtually empty on a beautiful Sunday evening. We had to ask another server for water because ours was nowhere to be found. The person who brought the water seemed annoyed. Average food and poor service. The staff was rude and I will not return to this restaurant ever! What a waste of $90!
Worst service ever , I waited 25 minutes to get my beer , food came for every one at the table with their drinks except my drink , I won’t come back here
Disappointed. Called to give a heads up of being late 10 minute to the reserved table. Hostess said that was okay, they’ll have it open still. However our high table wasn’t kept hoping arrival, spoke with same hostess stating “oh yeah, but people started sitting there sorry”.
Love this place! Both the Rockville and Old Town Alexandria locations are awesome. The service and atmosphere is always pleasant and the food is always terrific! Will be back again.
I had a reservation and they did not allow a member of our party because he was wearing khaki shorts but right after him 2 other individuals with jean shorts were allowed to come in.
I don't understand why this place isn't packed every single night. Everything we ordered was delicious! Just bursting with flavor. The sangria is really good but kind of pricey. Our server was very pleasant as well.
Food was cold and greasy and poor quality would not go back
We arrived at the restaurant and although we were seated promptly, we were then not approached by a server at all. We watched as another family entered the nearly empty restaurant about 15 minutes after our arrival and was served immediately and water was brought out. When we got the attention of a server he ignored us and went to another table to serve them. We then realized that we would not be served and promptly left. We will never return
The food was fast and delicious! The service was superb. It was a nice day out for outside seating. Went for a birthday lunch and it did not disappoint. Thanks!
We were sitting outside and it was VERY NOISY - the band was playing . Another thing - I was disappointed - I have not been there for a while. I used to love the place. But now - they replaced the couches inside for some cheap looking tall tables. I probably won't come back.
Tay is the best server ever!!! I always have a great time when I go to La Tasca, and bring people here when they visit from out of town. You all are great!
We ate outside, and that part was quite pleasant. But the food was mediocre--I had the vegetarian paella--and the service was really awful. Maybe they were short-staffed that night. Even if they were, the service was just as bad when the restaurant thinned out. It was a weekday evening and not crowded. The waitress was brusque; the wait for everything was excessively long; she never came round to even refill the water; I had to go inside to find her a few times to get the check or ask for something we needed--it was overall not a good night for La Tasca. I have no desire to go back. My friend, whose family used to own a famous restaurant, was more accepting.
We had 5:30 reservation, at 6 we still were not attended, I had to ask someone to attend us so we could order which still took time. As we were getting ready to leave we were finally attended.
Delicious food and drink. The pulpo was a miss and I’ve had better patatas bravas elsewhere. Otherwise great experience.
The new furniture is very nice.
Where we were seated, the server only occasionally came by and we had to flag her down twice to ask for the check. She never came by to ask if we wanted to place an additional tapas order or get a drink refills – her loss!
A favorite of ours and it didn't disappoint! It was a gorgeous day for eating outside.
This is my favorite restaurant, I love their food. We were seated immediately because we had a reservation. The waiter came and asked for our drink orders. I was halfway through the order and he just walked away. 15 mins later he came back with waters for the table, which I didn’t order. I gave him the correct drink order and began to order our food. I ordered one of my favorite dishes and was told the chef was not cooking that today. 🤨 I asked were they out of the meal and he said no, the chef just was not cooking it today. I asked to see the manager. He left and came back with no manager, and said he could make the dish for me. Our food came out before our proper drink order, so me and my family were very thirsty. 40 mins later he showed back up with our drinks and to check on us. He had never even looked our way before then. We ordered another round of tapas, which came out fairly quickly. Everything came except one dish, but the waiter was not around for us to ask about it. We finished up or meals and chalked up our missing dish to the crappie service. We assumed the waiter never put the order in (like our drinks) and we were ready for dessert. My family ordered and received our desserts. Halfway through dessert a different waiter brings out the missing dish we ordered earlier. We explained to him that it was ordered earlier, and we were now finished eating and did not want it. He took it back and our original waiter came back with the dish and asked if we would like to pack it up and take it home. We also explained to him that we wanted it when we ordered it, not an hour later. He was visibly upset and took the dish back. The waiter came back with our check and shoved the receipt in my face saying “Look we took the dish you didn’t want off.” And slammed the check on the table. At that point my husband was ready to explode because of how aggressive the waiter was with me, so we left. He did not get a big tip and my Mother’s Day meal was not all I hoped.
Very nice unlimited tapas/sangria promo for Mothers Day. Cool music, nice ambiance and food hit the spot!
we went for Mother's Day and had a great time. Most of the food was great. patatas Bravas were a bit burned for our taste.
Great food, great envirement
I alwys love coming there
Great food Great service every time!! Great way to celebrate my birthday
Love my visit at the la Tasca, their Taps are well cooked, and come with nice size. I ordered steak and its quality is up to premium steakhouse. The wine selection is wide and good one. For lunch, three taps with a glass wine is well served with its quality and economic value. I highly recommend my friends or everyone to La Tasca at Rockville.
We didn’t feel welcome. Our waitress was not pleasant and she kept forgetting orders. She didn’t check on us and our table was all the way in the corner with packed furniture and not very welcoming atmosphere.
We use to go there all the time but moved out of the area and haven’t been in awhile, I think since we were last there the quality went down and the price went up. We still enjoyed the fried eggplant with cheese sauce and the angus steak had good flavor. The scallops we very tough and over cooked. Otherwise the food was good but not great.
Most of the tapas were delicious with the exception of the paella valenciana. We were disappointed that it was bland and lacked meat that was listed along with the presentation that paella normally has as a main dish. It wasn’t very busy to forgive the lack of attention the server should have given especially with our beverages. We ran out of water towards the end of our meal and had to track our server down so we can get more. We also got an incorrect order request and had to send the dish back. Aside from the issues, the tapas were pretty good.
We were first seated near a serving area & by windows/doors that open in nice weather. It was a cold night & air was coming through the slats, so we asked to be moved. We ordered drinks and an appetizer. Then, things declined. We ordered many tapas & only received a few. We assumed the others would come out as prepared, but after time we tried to get our servers attention. He totally ignored us & when we finally got him he said the kitchen was backed up. Interesting that people next to us & behind us sat down after us & got what we had ordered earlier! For the next 15 minutes our waiter ignored us & never checked back to see if we wanted more drinks, more food, etc... one person finally spoke to the Manager & we finally got 1 missing item, but it was incorrect. We had to ask again for the other item. Our waiter had never returned. We had to once again ask the manager to get a bill! Very disappointing experience.
I made a reservation to celebrate my birthday and my sister farewell.. We went with my one year old baby girl in a cold and almost snowing weather... but surprise the restaurant was still under renovation and they did not notify us. So disappointed...
The restaurant has a nice decor and the layout of tables allows for some amount of privacy.
The restaurant was not overly busy but I felt as though we were being rushed a bit to order. Despite replying that we'd not been there before, the waiter offered little in the way of explanation of the menu. Also, when paying the check it would be nice if the staff had offered to validate our parking as we didn't realize that was offered until we got back to the garage and saw the sign on the pay station (then a walk back to La Tasca).
Nice enough but didn't stand out.
Amazing Restaurant. It is nestled in one of the most charming town centers in the area. We got prompt service and all dishes were on par. Our Server was on point and we left with a great experience. Would recommend for anyone looking for a date night or even adventurous eating out
Food was delicious , did not had to wait and we enjoyed our time there!
Paella was not available for Valentines!!!!
