Le Plonc Wine Bar - Mountain View
Classy little wine bar, limited food selection.
Good location to have a couple glasses of wine with friends. The wine selection is okay and definitely pricier than the happy hour specials at every other restaurant on Castro, but it was a good change of pace.
I am giving only 1 star for the service. We made a reservation through open table, I also asked a confirmation IN PERSON and got a positive response. then when it was time, an other lady said it was impossible to reserve and have a table at 10pm, even for a drink. It was A FRIDAY long week end evening. Many other people were still there enjoying food and drinks at 10:00 in this ace. French style place, without French style service.
The wine selection is good and the food was delicious yet small in portions given the price point but that isn’t the deterrent. Our service was absolutely abysmal. The waiter made wonderful recommendations but then everything went downhill. When we wanted to order a charcuterie plate, we had to do it twice after he forgot we had placed the order. After our water glasses sat empty, we had to ask for water multiple times before eventually another waitress filled them. We asked for more bread multiple times before we were brought more right after we received our bill. We asked for a take away box and after waiting ten minutes we decided to leave without our food. The waiter chased us down and apologized but at that point, the bad taste was already left in our mouths. There are other wine bars.
Wonderful wine bar with comfortable sofa like seating as well as lounge chairs, great appetizers such as burrata avocado toast and pate. Nice servers.
Always a lovey experience, even though it’s VERY speedy!!
We tried to order 3 different items and they were all not available. This was even worse because the menu was so small.
The food was great and delicious! The wines are average (3 out of 5 stars). I would like to have better wines at a Wine Bar.
Lots of space. Good selection of wine and food items to accompany it. Open pretty late with pleasant service and nice outside seating patio.
Le Plonc has been a fantastic addition to downtown Mountain View. They have a great wine selection, lovely ambience, and delicious avocado and burrata toast. Great spot to have a date or spend time with friends.
I love this place. It is my go to for a glass of wine and small plates. Always good and nice. A little bit too loud so I can't wait until we can sit outside again
Way too loud and very uncomfortable chairs.
Le Plonc was a nice surprise, the food was delicious as were the wines.
Started out with the oysers paired with the rose sparkling wine, delightful. Then went to the pear and blue cheese flat bread with the tempranillo wine. Excellent. Finished with an affogato with Frangelico. I'd never had that combination before but it was quite good.
Imagination and excellent ingredients team up to make a new place to go to in Mountain View.
Great place in the late afternoon for a glass of wine and conversation. The wine list by the glass was a bit limited, but very good rosé, and Cab. Service was really good-attentive but not intrusive. I'm sure I'll be back.
Service was excellent as usual. Wine and cheese were superb !!
The food was enjoyable. The wines we chose were average. Will try again to see if there are some better wines.
Happy hour here is great! Nice wine and atmosphere. Love the decor. Will be back (probably often!)
Great for small bites and a glass of wine with friends. Wine selection is of good quality but not as wide as I expected. Service was attentive and friendly. Waitress provided a good description of everything that was being served. Noise level makes it difficult to have 1-1 conversations though.
Great atmosphere, decent selection of wines and charcuterie. Our host, Melissa, was courteous and friendly. I would highly recommend if you're looking for a spot to have a good conversation over wine.
The best fresh oysters in the area! Loved the flare bread, and a great selection of wines!
Great wine and food and service was spot on, fun place!
I met my friends for drinks and dinner. For 15 mins I watch the employees stand behind the bar and ignore us and others. I had to flag one of them down who walked right past me Just to get a glass of wine. When it started getting busy they were attentive. The staff forgot to put a reserve sign at our table and asked us if we were finished b/c the table was suppose to be reserved. They gave us no options where we could move since no other tables were available or so we left. Felt that was really rude since we were still enjoying our glass of wine.
Highly recommend this place
Friendly service and excellent quality of food and selection of wines. It made for a fantastic evening. All staff were attentive without being overbearing. We had a wonderful time and plan on coming back soon!
While I loved Le Plonc the first time I went on a Sat afternoon, I was disappointed this time on a weekday afternoon around 1-2 pm. I ordered the same thing for the table both times. There was only one other table that day, but it was hard to track down the server, and the food was quite salty, and the fish overcooked. :(
Maybe weekdays have less trained staff so I hope that it will be better on future visits to make the price worth it.
