Le Provençal Bistro
We arrived on time and were seated immediately upon arrival. Drinks were delicious. Specials were perfectly prepared. Dessert was great. And the bread was outstanding too. Price was a bit higher than normal but that's what you get when you order specials. Definitely will go back but it'll probably only be for fancy date nights or during restaurant week for the prix fixe.
This would have been the usual 5 star review. However, there were two detractors. The first was the asparagus in the lobster linguini. I love their lobster linguini. I hate asparagus. The asparagus was not included in the ingredients listed on the menu. So I picked out the veggie and ate what was then the dish that I loved. I did tell the server about added ingredient, and she later came back at the owner's request with two glasses of white wine as an apology. We had been drinking red wine and were not yet finished with that. I do not like white wine. Surely there could have been a more thoughtful compensation.
Delicious food, creative cuisine, and lovely ambiance. A round table enabled a more cohesive conversation.
It has been many years since I last ate at Le Provencal Bistro. I remembered my previous experience as having been a good one. We went back on Saturday and were not disappointed. The food is still very good, as was the service and atmosphere. Everyone in our foursome ordered different meals, but all agreed that the food was well prepared (we all ordered the specials of the day), tasty and nicely presented. The staff was very accommodating and attentive. Also, the atmosphere was very reminiscent of a true French bistro. Although not cheap, the prices were reasonable. Finally, although the restaurant was very full, we didn't get the sense of being rushed. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed dinner and intend to return.
Always consistent. A neighborhood gem. Brunch was spot on.
Onion tart, Hangar Steak, Mussels, Frites & Tart Tatin were all delicious.
One of the best meals we’ve had in Westchester!!
Le Provenchal Bistro is our favorite restaurant. We have been there several times and have always had a wonderful experience with excellent food. Last Saturday we introduced our friends to the restaurant. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. I had the liver and onions special. It was by far the BEST liver and onions I have ever had. This restaurant is a must to try if you haven’t already.
Love the place, constantly good over 6 years. A little paradise in a world of Italian restaurants
Fabulous meal. Service was attentive and the room was cozy.
Great service and always amazing food!
Le Provencal has just turned into our go to restaurant. For the first time however this visit provided one of our diners with an overcooked duck main course. When I mentioned to the waiter he very kindly took it off the bill. The rest of the party had fish which was superb.
Wonderful food in quaint atmosphere, great date night
Food and service was excellent! We went on Valentine’s Day so it was very busy. I would definitely go back
I would recommend Le Provençal as the ambiance is lovely
Lovely restaurant with lovely atmosphere. Perhaps it was a bad day, but our brunch was at best average.
The onion tart I ordered tasted like it had been left over from last week. My wife’s hanger steak arrived barely warm , as if it had sat waiting too long to be picked up by the waiter.
Might try again as the ambience was charming.
The staff, service, ambiance and food was top notch!
One of the most consistent restaurants on my list. The food preparation is outstanding, and the service is prompt and courteous. You think you are in the left bank of Paris. The escargot moules were some of the best I have ever had.
Excellent as usual, our French favorite restaurant in Westchester with native good and Fresh quality French food (Duck comfit, Endive salad, Calf liver...).
Excellent welcome, great owners and great waiters. We do feel like home an service is fast when you arrive early !
Would have been better if we got the menus we asked for to order the food they forgot. Oh well.
I have been going there for about 10 plus years now both under the previous manager and now for 2 years under thus one. This was really a seamlessly managerial transition.
Totally still satisfied
This is fantastic quiet bistro, perfect for brunch with a friend. Food was great, service attentive and friendly. We'll be back!
Excellent welcome as usually, good Côtes du Rhône, good calf liver and good duck confit and excellent pommes frites! Thank you! Always a pleasure to have diner at Le Provençal
This was my second reservation in as many weeks, & again, it was outstanding! Service, prix fixed lunch selections were great- moules frites are plentiful & authentic.
Consistent quality and authentic French options. The mussels & frites are perfect and the wild mushroom soup is sophisticated comfort food. The prix fixed two-course lunch is a bargain.
We eat late so it was nice and quiet. The waiter was very professional and pleasant. We had no complaints. I had 2 appetizers which were very good, especially the lump crab salad. The escargots were a bit rubbery, but my favorite part is the garlic butter!
Delicious! I had the duck confit hash with potatoes and mushrooms in a rich brown sauce. Topped with 2 poached eggs. It only comes with 1. Perfectly dressed side salad. Perfect winter comfort food. Caramelized onion tart was loved by my friend. Husband's burger and alumette fries were yummo. Go!!
Our dining experience at Le Provencal Bistro is always great. At most places the food is fine, but the enjoyment is primarily dining out with family and/or friends. At Le Provencal the food is first-rate so the enjoyment includes the food. However, it can be a bit pricey, especially if you add wine.
We have been going to Bistro for years. Enjoyed every meal, and every visit. when we heard the owner was retiring, and there would be a new owner, we hoped things would remain as good. I am happy to say it is as good or better. we ate at Bistro New Years Eve, and their "Special " price fixe menu had so many choices, it was hard to decide. My rack of lamb was a superb medium rare, and the tuna steak was also good. As expected, another great and filling dinner. I always look forward to returning.
New Years eve dinner was 3 courses menu and was surprisingly good. We'll come again!
Unfortunately all the food was tasteless.
We're sorry you had a bad experience. We do our best to make sure every guest has a great time and We hope you give us another chance at some point. Happy Holidays and we hope to see you again. -Owner
Very good family meal. Good service. Highly recommended.
Birthday celebration! Food was excellent, truly delicious. Party of 5, everyone loved their meal! Wait staff was extremely caring, friendly and gracious. Dining room was lovely & not too loud. I will recommend to friends and return myself!
My steak was overcooked. I order it medium rare and it was served medium.
I had to get my waitress every time we needed service.
She was very slow.
Consistent, the food is delicious, nice service, pleasant evening... very enjoyable
Excellent as usual. A pleasure to dine in such a friendly restaurant. Fir us, the best in Mamaroneck!
This is the 3rd time I have gone since the new owners took over. Unfortunately each time the quality of the food is still no where near what it was with the prior owners. I will not go back again.
Lovely meal all around.
A lovely thanksgiving special menu...and lovely service as always.
Thanksgiving Eve with family. Excellent food with no clean up!!
One of Westchester's best and most authentic French bistros.
