League of Chefs Pop-Up Dinners
These pop ups are so much fun. We have enjoyed every one. This Moroccan inspired meal was tasty with the typical spices but had a real ingenuity in the presentation and accompaniments.
Can’t wait for the next one.
The menu stated they were starting with an amuse bouche, but they did not serve one. The starter was nice, but the lamb entree was cold by the time I received it. It had nice flavor though. The dessert servings were inconsistent. I had a large piece of baklava, but the gentleman next to me had a very small piece. It was a very noticeable difference. I think you have to pay very close attention to timing and detail when doing these kinds of dinners. The concept is fun, but not enough staffer, I suppose oven space to handle the amount of people . It was very cool and windy out so some space hitters may be nice. If you have to charge more to pull it off then do so.
The League of Chefs Pop Up dinners are always a joy to attend. The food is good, friends plentiful and the atmosphere that Nicole and her team set is a wonderful addition to our city.
Nicole and her team created an amazing event!!! The 4 course meal was delicious and the wine pairing was spot on with each course!
Looking forward to the next pop up!
Everything I had hoped for and more. The food was inspired. The people made me even more happy to be a Vallejo resident. Thank you for having a venue for me to have both my social and foodie pleasures met
The food is always creative, flavorful, and I love that it is locally sourced. The seating area inside is tight so be ready to get friendly with your neighboring diners at the community table.
Always enjoyable, wonderful meals so tasty and well proportioned, and the warm, wonderful people we meet, new and old friends. You and your staff are wonderful, the chef amazing. Thanks for a great evening.
This was an outstanding dining experience. We always have a great time meeting new neighbors. The food is high-quality, delicious, seasonal and fresh. The service is efficient and so friendly. Loved the live music. My only feedback is it was too crowded at our table. A little more elbow room between place settings would have been optimal.
Love, Love the outdoor pop-ups, the meals are delicious and just the right amount, an opportunity to meet wonderful people, meet new and old friends, share an evening with music and laughter. A wonderful event and an opportunity for the community to come together, it’s almost like having a giant family dinner night. A warm and inviting atmosphere. Thank you Nicole and to your amazing cooks/chefs and the entire staff, what an amazing gift to Vallejo, so glad you chose us🤗😍💞
Wish there were more than 5 stars. The Pop-ups are phenomenal event. A night when the stars align. Don’t miss the next offering from League of Chefs.
Lovely evening with wonderful food, great ambience, unique setting in the street. Only draw-back was the long wait between courses. We sat farthest from the kitchen and felt overlooked by servers. Servers were very hard-working-just seemed overwhelmed. Still 5 stars...❤️
Had a wonderful evening. My only two complaints were, that when buying tickets we weren’t told it was a political fundraiser. The other was that the main course wasn’t very much especially for the price we paid. Other than that , the food was wonderful.
Outstanding and a very special and unique experience with great food, service and hosts!
All my friends and I thoroughly enjoyed this Hawaiian themed event. The food was incredible. The al fresco dining was delightful. It was a chance to catch up with other people from Vallejo as well. I even got a hug from Supervisor Erin Hannigan!
You absolutely have to try one of these amazing pop-up dinners in the street. It feels like the whole town shows up. Food was outstanding, the service wonderful. I give it 2 Yums Up!
Fun pop ups every month or so. Check it out
As usual, Nicole and crew put on a delicious event! Each one is unique and delicious.
Excellent food and a great setting! It was a lovely day albeit windy without a cloud in the sky. This led to intense squinting for those of us without sunglasses. Umbrellas would not have survived the wind, anyway.
Every course of food was excellent although I'd have to mostly guess about the salad course. The salad bowl was passed around and I was the last to receive it at my table. Needless to say, it was so good I was left without enough to grasp with the tongs and was told that was all. At a breakdown of $12.25 for the salad course... Having to scrape leavings out of a bowl left a lot to be desired. But my guests had their fill and thoroughly enjoyed it.
The food, outside of the salad, really was worth the money! And the wine pairings were done well. There was plenty of overlap from one wine to the next so you could mismatch the pairings and this helped to further illustrate the differences and reinforce the idea that some wines with better with certain foods. I will be back again because of the quality and because Vallejo is better for having this presence and resource.
What a delightful experience. The street was roped off the weatehr was wonderful. Just a little windy for a time. A four course French dinner with wonderful flavors and adequate portions. Service ws excellent. It was complete with beautiful background music and the owner was front and center greeting us and assuring the dining experience was wonderful. We opted for the wine pairings which topped off the menu wonderfully.
I've been to many of the League of Chefs pop-ups but this one was one for the books. A Night in Paris did not disappoint. Lovely menu, well executed, beautiful atmosphere and well paced. Fantastique!
I was very impressed, they had over 100 people to surve at once, and everything came out warm and delicious!!
Special night! Amazing food and wine pairings!
League of Chefs combines exquisite food and friendly, professional service to create an unforgettable experience. The pop-up, outdoor ambience was magnificent and in combination with Vallejo's Second Friday Art Walk created a fantastic evening.
Pardon the pun, they are in a league of their own! An outstanding event with over 160 guests. Not one complaint about food, service or ambiance. Nicole Hodge organized and delivered an extraordinary evening for everyone in attendance. Take a minute to look at their Facebook for photos for yourself, and do not miss the next pop up dinner!
League of Chefs is a wonderful addition to Vallejo. The food is purely outstanding. You can buy items to use at home, or pick up one of their daily meals, ( ours were delicious) or attend a pop up dinner or brunch.
Bravo to Nicole and her talented, friendly staff.
Nicole and her staff are phenomenal and the food they prepare is fit for the gods.
At their Sunday brunch we enjoyed the ACME Challah French Toast Topped with Meyer Lemon Curd and Bourbon Ginger Syrup and Satsumas, Dungeness Crab Benedict with Hollandaise Sauce, Fire Roasted Asparagus with Truffle Oil and Home Fries, and Winter Pear Trifle with Ladyfingers, Chantilly Crème and Shaved Dark Chocolate.
The meal started with butter cookies filled with bacon and was beautifully accented by Cardamom Cold Coffee & Bottomless Cara Cara Orange Mimosas!
Divine food. Worth the price.
We had a great time meeting new people and eating the 3-course brunch menu, along with the bottomless mimosas. The food was excellent. The only complaint is that it was so good I had to eat everything and then was stuffed for the rest of the day!
We've now attending one dinner and now the brunch. We'll be signing up for more!
An Ocktoberfest - the music was wonderful and the food was great. So many people came they ran out of seats which they quickly rectified. The beer made me want to drink beer when I don't. The homemade pretzels and the variety of mustards was awesome. As usual the service was out of this world
nicole hodge and her league of chefs have done it again: another superb pop up dinner in Vallejo! the atmosphere in the beautiful beaux arts bank of Italy building was festive w/Oktoberfest banners hanging overhead and the sounds of the german "oom pa" band punctuating the evening. the german food was delicious and authentic and there was plenty of it.
can't wait for the next pop up dinner!
I love the idea of a local pop-up making use of historic spaces in Vallejo. Unfortunately, paying $49 per person for bratwurst and potato salad is extreme (I don't think the sausages were homemade). The chocolate cake for dessert was super dry and seemed like an amateur after thought. At this price point, they should have at least included one free drink. It sounds like some of their other events have been better.
The event advertised 4 course meal for $49 per person alcohol not included. For that price I was expecting to be served each course on proper china and silverware by proper servers. The food was salad, spaetzli and boiled sausages self served buffet style onto paper plates with plastic utensils. The way it was presented should not have been more than $25 per person.
The food was fine but the entire experience was bad value for money and misrepresentation in my opinion. I am very disappointed in League of Chefs and will not be returning.
Love the whole concept, and I want to support it. But, in this particular case, the food was not worth the money.
Better this time than the last. Service could improve.
The League of Chefs is an outstanding restaurant. Their menu selections are always changing. Despite the change they are always exquisite and the flavor is amazing. The ambiance is dressed up and also very casual and neighborly. I have met new people each time I have gone and always had a wonderful time. The music at this dinner was wonderful the singer's voice was as delicious as the food and the company.
Nice event. Quality of food was good. Portions were too small. I left hungry & went to another restaurant to pick up some "take out".
We had a great time with our group of friends and would recommend to everyone.
Over all a great attempt for an outdoor pop up dinner
Chef was lovely and the food was tasty
The dressing on the salad was rather sparce
Main course (which was a fish), the Veg option were mushrooms which were outstanding.
The desert nice
The best was the cheese platter - good amount, great selection
Service seemed overwhelemed
It too a while for servers to refill water glasses - Tip to prevent this have water source on the table
The wine pairing got mixed up more than once and did not go in tune with the courses
Overall a lovely evening
While the food was excellent, there are some suggestions for improvement. The presentation was outstanding!
Get some better chairs and fewer people in the room.
This is a once a month pop up dinner. The menu was inventive, delicious and tge servers gracious.
Menu and quality of food was very good with interesting preparation. service seemed a bit rushed but was OK overall.
