Leeds Public House
Had a wonderful date night here! Highly recommend the meatloaf and vanilla/lemon cheesecake.
Nice spot. Good to provide options for locals and visitors.
Good food and drinks at reasonable prices. We also had a great server.
Leeds is a work in progress. I would give it a try and will try again in the hope that they work on their recipes (smoked everything is not cool.) waiter was bored and brought requested “HOT” soup luke warm. Butter or olive oil with bread would be expected. Tiny Spanish olives in a Grey Goose martini are not remotely adequate.
Please, we need a great place!
Loved the outside bar area. Good martini. Restaurant very loud. Plate appearance rather plain. Pricey for amount of food. Will definitely try it again when we could go to the outside bar.
Everything! There 3 times in one week. Brought friends. Will look forward to better weather so we can get back out on that patio!!
Leeds continues to show promise. Our meals were good but not yet in the range of excellent. The mains were good, especially the duck, but the portion on the short rib though tasty was reduced by a third from previous visits. The sides were a bit overcooked. Service was very good.
Turned out to be a very good place to eat. Food was excellent, service was great. Wish they had more varieties of wine by the glass. All and all a great place.
Duck entree was excellent. The outside deck area by bar was perfect with good energy.
Great addition the the newly emerging downtown Michigan City. The ambience beats any in the area, especially the outside dining/bar area.
We had a phenomenal girls night out at Leeds. We sat on the beautiful patio and the food and service was perfect! Best new restaurant/bar/new hangout in Northwest Indiana!
Great to be aeated outside on the patio-a lovely night plus it is crazy noisy inside. Hope the owners can figure out a way to correct that when outside isn’t an option in cold weather. Server was a bit overwhelmed-a holiday weekend must have been busy.
Very good food with service to match. Outside dining is wonderful. Inside is loud. I would like to see more Indiana beers.
Staff was attentive and friendly, but there was a mixup as to who would be our server, so it took a while to be waited on. Food was generally quite good. We will have to try Leeds again.
Good food, beverages and service at reasonable prices.
We made a reservation for 4 but ended up with 5. They graciously accomodated us. Michelle, our server, was outstanding. Food and drink was excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant.
New with a very nice outdoor patio space. A varied menu with very fresh ingredients, the crab salad is excellent. Service uneven to very slow. Probably will improve with time. A great addition to downtown Michigan City.
Great server! Very attentive! Food and drinks were great!
Perfect evening. Sat outside.
Muscles/frites appetizer was spot on. Everyone’s meals were perfectly prepared and tasted amazing. Waitress was attentive and knowledgeable! Will be going back for sure.
I have been here twice.
The first time we had great service and the food was delicious. Then we went back on Saturday night. It took 1.75 hours for our food to come. We had a great waiter, but the kitchen was completely overwhelmed. The food was once again delicious. The noise level on Saturday night was really high, so while we waited that 1.75 hours, we sat at our table and shouted at each other, that gets old fast
Great food, great outdoor seating. Fantastic chef and server. Creative menu. Can get pretty noisy.
Would go there for the atmosphere but not for the food. Food very good, but not great and menu needs more selections. A few hits with food as well as misses and some issue with food temperature. Tomato soup, smoked chicken sandwich, coleslaw and fries a miss wings, duck, and chicken and fish good. Serving staff very friendly but need more coordination with the kitchen. Staff were bringing my soup out of kitchen before waitress even finished orders at our table. Felt very rushed with food service out of kitchen. A few hits with food as well as misses and some issue with food temperature. Great job with patio remodel. Inside seemed noisy.
Beautiful patio and great crowd on a Friday night. Mussels were ok - a bit fishy; smoked shrimp a nice change from regular shrimp; duck and burger were good; short ribs very disappointing- meat was very dry; not enough “sauce”; needed salt/flavor; fries were ok but all short “pieces” which was odd; good wine selection - great cocktails. Server was so sweet but need some training. Didn’t seem to have enough knowledge of menu; didn’t know what certain liquors were and couldn’t help with white wine decision (for ex. hadn’t tasted sauvignon blanc).
We sat outside on a beautiful but cool summer evening. They have a wonderful patio with a firepit. We had drinks and dinner. Food selection is unique and well prepared. We didn't have an appetizer but the selection was also interesting and unique. Service was friendly and our waitress was able to answer questions about the menu. We will be back soon and look forward to making this one of our regular stops.
Great shrimp & wings appetizers. Also enjoyed the gumbo and side salad. Reasonable prices too!
We arrived on time and were shown to our table immediately where we were greeted by our server. We ordered drinks and the Crostini appetizer. The drinks were generous pours and the Crostini came shortly after. Unfortunately the bread tasted like it had been toasted the day before and had a stake taste and texture. For our entrees we ordered Mussels, Steak Frites, Asparagus Risotto, and the Roasted Garlic Chicken. I can recommend the chicken and the steak both were very good and the frites were perfect. Unfortunately the mussels were extremely small, lacked flavor and the toasts were the same stale toast that the Crostini were served on. The risotto was more like boiled rice with asparagus. No one complained because we didn’t want to ruin a nice evening. We will go back but will not be ordering the unsatisfactory dishes again.
I love this great new place in Michigan City, INDIANA. The outdoor bar is a great place to meet friends for a drink. The patio is awesome. The quinoa salad is great and the charcuterie plate as well. My vegan friend had the asparagus risotto. She said it was good, but lacked flavor. She suggested adding mushrooms. Iv'e been to Leeds 3 times in the last two weeks and plan to go again this week!
Great atmosphere, pleasant helpful staff, beautiful outdoor seating area, varied menu, reservations honored BUT food itself leaves something to be desired. Food preparation was inconsistent and either over or under cooked. Hopefully they will get their act together as the restaurant has lots of potential and Michigan City definitely needs more casual gourmet type restaurants
Disappointing, We were stuck at a small narrow table for two which was a series of these tables run down an aisle. Don't know if they want to be a fine dining (if so have a way to go) or a sandwich restaurant. Tomato bisque soup was not much more than thin tomato soup but only at room temperature. Waiter must have known as he immediately offered to take it back when he saw I was not partaking. Our entrees' (Salmon & Short rib) were decent but came out warm (not hot). Wait staff were all in blue jeans which is ok if this is a sandwich shop but not ok if they want to be fine dining. Won't be back!
overall a great addition to the area. layout and atmosphere are handsome, however the noise level raises to bar level and dinner conversation is difficult. menu was broad and appealing to our party of 5. service was attentive, but time from ordering to food on table was longer than most and it’s apparent the crew is working through its first opening weeks of business. overall value is on par with the area with most entrees below $20, with a few above that. food portions could be slightly more generous for the price charged. will keep coming back and hoping to get a chance to sit in the back outdoor area.
Great food, beautiful atmosphere. Our service was wonderful and the cake was the best I've ever had. We definitely will be back!
Very lively !
Food great but have to edit some dishes that were too heavy
Would love a lot ghetto alternative, like meat without sauces, etc
Love it !
Great spot. These people really put an investment into an already great location. Great food. Only place in the area that has a pisco sour. Kudos to the whole crew.
I had the salmon which was delicious. Everyone at our table had a very enjoyable evening. Low key patio seating. The inside is also beautiful though.
Great food and ambience. I just felt the menu could’ve been a little more extensive.
Great spot with many tempting menu items. They were quite busy. In spite of the hustle and bustle the staff took very good care of us. We will definitely be back! Best wishes moving forward!
Service was excellent / had some obnoxious patrons near us which can happen at any restaurant / food was good but since they were busy the loaded fries weren't super hot by the time they made it to the table. Atmosphere is great / clean / really enjoyed it. We'll definitely be back.
Still working out the kinks. Food came out in wrong intervals. No dessert menu.
Excellent food and service, kitchen was clearly under pressure. Food was slow to come out but based on our apps and entrees the chef was unwilling to comprise quality for speed. Mussels were first rate as was the Chicken, Short Ribs and Duck. The Fish sandwich had the largest piece of fish I've ever seen on a sandwich and was beautifully cooked.
This was an excellent meal served to perfection. Staff was knowledgeable, friendly and understood the kitchen issues and did their best to calm the patrons. We will be back and look forward to sampling the entire menu.
