Lightfoot & Wolfville Vineyards
Great spot! My only reason for not giving 5 stars was the service. Upon entering received greetings from 3 different people. Order food and wine. Once it got to the table we never heard from the server until we were done and waiting for a while. No one asked how the food was or if we needed anything else. No offer of another drink. Just the bill.
We made reservations for lunch to celebrate our parents wedding anniversary. Ambiance was great, unique and the service was efficient. The middle of my pizza was a little soggy, could be because of the olive oil. pizza itself was very tasty. we shared garlic fingers that we sooo delicious!!
The food was delicious, the service was amazing as was the atmosphere. It was very busy when we arrived, it was a holiday Monday and one of the few places open. The waitress apologized for our appetizer taking so long and even took it off our bill. We didn’t even notice that it took long at all because we were truly enjoying our time. Thank you for the great food!!
A beautiful setting sitting in a very large air-conditioned tent overlooking the vineyards. The food was good but the service on Thanksgiving Day was very slow. We ordered a couple of starters and 3 pizzas for our main course and the pizzas arrived first. Staff were very pleasant but they (kitchen and wait staff) were overloaded and the delays took the edge off the meal.
The pizza was delicious! Artichoke/eggplant dip very bland, a bit of a disappointment. The wine is very overpriced for the very little bit you serve. I wouldn't spend the money for a glass of wine when I know what I can pay for the whole bottle. I know it costs more by the glass, but the prices are a bit out to lunch. The pizza was a good price and we would come back for that again.
You have a beautiful location and facility, clean restrooms and friendly staff. We nonetheless found the service slow and the food overpriced, as delicious as it was. The cannoli shell tasted stale and did not match its menu description. The wonderful mousse cake was small for $12, as was the chowder, at $17. We paid almost $200 for lunch for four, which is excessive, and only two of us had alcohol. Why should almonds and olives cost $10?
Our server was very nice and friendly, the atmosphere was great, food was delicious, however, the wait time for our food was very slow. We sat down at 2:30, our server took our order in a timely manner and we waited FOREVER for our food. It didn't arrive until a little after 3:30 (an hour after we sat down) and it wasn't overly busy. Happy the pizza was good to make up for the wait time. Or, maybe I was so hungry from waiting that anything would have tasted good lol.
We were a bit disappointed. The food was not great. we had a sweet server but all the bills were wrong. All of them. The music was not only loud but not very good music for a winery. We won’t be rushing back.
It was cold outside and the large heater were not turned on ? We went to try the tent and it was too loud. The blankets are great but my mother was quite cold. Food was good - wine was fine but felt over priced as there were no shipping etc.. costs in play - @$15 per glass too much for a glass at the point of manufacture.
Excellent service, great food, and a beautiful setting.
Wonderful place would highly recommend there was 10 of us and everyone lived it!!!
Loved the atmosphere, the waitress was amazing and when she found out it was my birthday/graduation dinner she brought us each a small sample of the bubbly to celebrate. By far one of my favourite places to celebrate important milestones in my life!
Excellent as always!
We had the pizza for supper. Hands down one of the best pizza I've ever tried. Nothing beats the breath taking views on the Terrance. Thank you to the staff for amazing service and great memories.
L&W is very popular and therefore always busy on summer weekends and holidays. Unfortunately we were there on the holiday Monday. The wait for our appetiser and then meal was way too long. I ordered the summer vegetable pizza and was warned they were out of anchovies. About an hour later the waitress came to me and said that they were also out of goat cheese (my preference for dietary reasons). When my pizza came the only vegetable on it were zucchini and onions. A Summer vegetable pizza in the Annapolis Valley should have more than one vegetable on it especially for the cost. Others in our party were disappointed in their pizzas as well, feeling that they tasted fine but were not worth the high cost.
The appetizers of charcuterie board and almonds and olives was very good.
We loved the wine and very much appreciated the atmosphere.
The views are STUNNING. The wine is FANTASTIC. The food is pretty good and he prices are more than fair. It is one of our favourite ways to spend a late summer / fall afternoon. That said, we’ve been there several times and each time the service was poor. Staff are very unorganized and the service does not suit the venue. We much prefer Luckett as the service is top notch, but it’s a lot harder to get in there!
Went for a birthday, it wasn’t knowledged at all by the staff or restaurant so I was confused to why it was an option on the booking site to select birthday, anniversary ect.
Requested a table with a view before hand with the booking site and we were sat in the middle of a tent. Sadly there were so many spots they could of reserved for us so the experience would of been better but that did not happen.
The food was pretty good, nothing special. The quality of ingredients was exceptional. And it came out quickly.
The staff were very pleasant and friendly.
Will probably not return for another special occasion but maybe for a casual lunch.
Fabulous location, service and food quality. And good wine. Portions could be larger for the prices and they’ve pulled a few of our favourites off the menu!
Great chowder - piping hot and loaded with seafood - potatoes and onions were the perfect consistency, not mushy like some we’ve had. The clam pizza was surprisingly delicious. Never would have thought of putting clams on pizza. Was just fabulous!!
This was our second visit. I felt like they were just mailing it in. The location is amazing and the views great, but if you are going to serve food you need to make an effort. The staff was rather stiff and unaccommodating. It seemed that all they wanted to hear was that everything was great. We ordered pizza and 2 of the 3 were cold, mixed drink was lacking in alcohol and generally felt like we were an imposition.
I think that this place is set up for tourist, a one time visit and no return. We are not tourists but we will not return.
The service at our table was very slow. Others around us that were seated after us received their food before us. We both ordered Pizzas but the dough was so salty it over powered the taste of the whole dish. I would have loved to say everything was good but it was not.
It was beautiful place and the service was excellent but felt $9.00 for a glass of wine was a bit expensive and the pizza toppings were sparse but it tasted excellent! Loved the tartan blankets! We would return and have already recommended it to a few people.
It was nice, clean, food is great. We also liked the fact that there was space to move around and you didn't feel as cramped sitting at the table as you do in other wineries.
Had a wonderful experience at L&W for lunch. The service was friendly and attentive. We enjoyed a delicious Margherita pizza, a combination platter of great cheese, charcuterie meats and preserves. The Riesling was the highlight of the lunch in my opinion. As good of wine as you would get anywhere in the world. Can’t wait to go back! You also get a free tasting of wine with a purchase of $50 or more of wine.
Wonderful meal, wonderful scenery. Service was excellent matching our mood
The food was excellent and their Bubbly Rose and Cider we very flavourful. Pizza was great!
Service was a bit slow so they gave us a complimentary wine tasing when we return again. That was a nice touch! We were sitting in the tent area and we found it very noisy. Sound seemed to bounce off all the hard surfaces. But over all we enjoyed it.
The pizza was a great hit with all of the ladies. My lobster seafood chowder was delicious. The only complaint most of us had was the bread we had while waiting 35 minutes for pizza (since the kitchen was backed up). Although the brown bread was delicious, it was not complementary. Since we were asked if we wanted some bread, while we waited, it should have been complementary. This however would not stop me from returning, or recommending this restaurant. A great way to start off the week-end.
Lovely setting, tasty food, excellent service. Couldn’t hear any music outdoors which would have added to the ambiance. $5 extra charge for a gluten free crust seemed a little high. Would have liked a darker/amber beer with my lunch but the choices were few (I understand this is a winery!) and the only red ale has a name offensive to my Christian faith, so no go. All in all: very nice!
Wood fired pizza was excellent. Will definitely visit again.
Recommendation will come with some guidance. There is no inside sitting area. If you don’t like flies around you then not a place for you to go eat. Also there was chicken on the menu, which is quite odd and disappointing. $60 for pizza and grilled cheese sandwich is a bit of steep price point. We did enjoy the view and staff was very friendly.
Suggest you add chicken to the menu!!!
The staff and experience were second to none. Coupled with the view, we thoroughly enjoyed lunch - so much so that we stayed at the table chatting for more than an hour after finishing our meal!
I look forward to the next visit
We had a large group for lunch and the food, service and venue was perfect! I highly recommend Lightfoot and Wolfville
I took my best friend and her boyfriend here for lunch in they’re anniversary. The views were amazing! We were able to take a walk around the property including through the vineyard with a drink before our meal! I would definitely recommend making a reservation (we did) as on a nice day it is busy! It was a bit loud due to it being busy and there were a few larger families/parties going on. However, the food was amazing and the service was great! The cannolis are a must for dessert! If your looking for a nice casual yet fancy place to eat/drink this is a beautiful spot!
Beautiful location, wonderful, fun atmosphere, excellent service.
The food was great. Loved the pizza! Just wasn't a huge fan of the live music but that was just because I'm not a big fan of bagpipes.
Just one of our favourite places to go!
It was quite busy and we waited a bit for our food but it was worth it. We had the pizza and it was delicious.
Absolutely met my expectations and they were high!! People have said fantastic things about this place. Highly recommend it!!
Great food but wish service was little faster than it was
But overall great experience
Pizza was doughy and lacked flavor. Service was team oriented but better communication between servers is necessary to insure guests needs are being met. An apparently dog friendly venue was filled with barking outbursts while people tried to relax. The ambiance is 100%. The design is beautiful.
