We have enjoyed Limon in the SF Mission District but had never been to this location. The service was attentive and we enjoyed all of our appetizers and entrees. We shall return!
Great food with ample portions, reasonable prices, very good service
We always love coming here. We got to bring my mother who was visiting and she loved the food & drinks! Never disappoints :-)
Too noisy and they rush us to finish and leabe
Great food and location. Depending on time of day could be quite loud in there so could make conversations a little difficult.
Cannot go wrong with their Ceviche. The Jalea was great - light breading, not greasy and flavorful (along with their version of tartar sauce). My daughter asked for a rare steak and it came out sizzling...and rare. Our fifth time there and will continue to keep coming. Thank goodness for reservations! Good service from our server Karla. Attentive and friendly.
Overall nice spot but not exceptional. Their chicken is excellent. Sides were disappointing as the side of fries was only four smallish fries and rice and beans was just a scoop. A little spendy given smaller portions. Louder spot. A decade ago I recall this restaurant that started in SF being better.
Good did not seem quite as good as normal. Hopefully just a one off.
Love it! 😋🥰
Our server was ok with the service, seemed tired and disinterested - got the wrong drinks order
We are regulars at this restaurant and love Limon
Delicious and friendly, but extremely loud
I have only been to the Mission Street venue before. The food was just as good, but the portions were much smaller in Burlingame.
I felt like an old fogey! My friend and I went to catch up. It was a Friday evening, what were we thinking? We were yelling across the table, the noise level is 'energetic' and a table of 20 was seated behind us. The food is delicious and the service is good - although two different servers came by to ask us about our food 6 times...a little overkill as it broke up our conversation each time.
I would try it again for lunch.
Amazing as always! And best of all they have the handheld card machines that all of Europe has and you pay at your table! The best! Can’t wait to come back.
We came for the amazing chicken and ceviche. As we had hoped the food was absolutely delicious. It was hard for our waitress to pay attention to us as she also had a large party. During my meal a bus boy accidentally removed my 1/2 full margarita. I didn’t notice right way but when I did I tracked down my server. 15 minutes later (and after my meal) the server came with a 1/2 full margarita to replace what was taken. What really upset me was the decision made by the bartenders over so cheap and selfish. It was the restaurants mistake and as they replaced it a gentleman would have just replaced the full drink. Cheap and bad decisions. No sorry. Too many other choices with generosity than to come back here.
First - wayyy too loud. Second - the restroom was deplorable. Small flies or even baby cockroaches all over the wall, fan vent cover dislodged and hanging. Gas station restrooms are nicer. And $25 for a single beer and small margarita. Nope
We had a Christmas get together with a couple of friends that we scheduled last minute and was able to get a reservation on a Saturday night. That was really nice. Food is always on point and so are drinks. Really good. Great for sharing and having dinner family style. It was a little bit too loud for us, as it is a family local place and it can get loud. It was too bad, but I’d prefer it to be a little quieter.
Have been to the SF location and enjoyed it. I had friends coming to town and thought we would try the Burlingame location. Food was just as great as the SF location. The ceviche sampler is a great starter to share. We had the chicken which is their specialty...so good!
My overall experience was not pleasant. Food was not good. Portion that was served was very small. We ordered the salad with chicken and they served us a few pieces of lettuce. Was not happy at all. Food was not good at all. Very disappointing
Love this location! The experience we get every time is great, friendly staff, delicious food and great service! We will be back!!.....thank you for always making our dinner experience great.
The hostess or bartender should be able to trade quarters for dollars, so we can park in the back parking lot with antiquated parking meters that don't take credit cards.
Overall a great place to go. Grilled octopus and ceviche were outstanding. Empanadas were good but not as good as I remembered from another location. Seemed slightly overcooked or like they waited too long to be brought out.
This is a casual food restaurant in terms of food and vibe, but priced at a relatively upscale level. Items we tried: Ceviche (catch of the day) had too-large pieces in too-salty sauce, Empanadas (decent, but oily), Mac-n-cheese (ok), Rotisserie chicken (undistinctive) and Lomo Saltadao (again, too-salty). Drinks were better, at least the pisco sours. Service was very spotty. Even though it was not a busy night, our server would disappear for long periods, forgot to bring out the sauces with the chicken, etc. Overall, unimpressive place. Not likely to return.
Host wasn’t too friendly but other staff provided great service
Two words LOUD & Chaotic. I don’t know how many times the men serving water and clearing tables bumped into my chair.
The noise level was so loud I couldn’t hear my friend across the table talking.
I’m glad I wore a sleeveless top as it was very hot and smoky inside.
Seats and tables are packed in tight.
Small portions $18.95 for a small ceviche. Yes it was tasty and very spicy.
Our waitress was friendly as were the front desk.
Probably better to sit outside under the heated lamps .
Always delicious and amazing service
Service is excellent as is the food, only negative is noise volume
First time to this Burlingame location. Enjoyed their original SF location from years ago. Ordered half chicken with 2 sides. Chicken is quite good, not dried although a tad soft and on the smallish side given the price. The 2 sides were generous enough. Didn't order their alcoholic drinks as this was lunch. Place smells very nice but the smell clings to the clothes and hair after.
Food was really good, just got very noisy and the service was really slow. Waited at least 10 minutes before a server even came over then he took drink orders and waited forever for him to come and take our order.
Food was good, but the noise level was unbearable. The music was way too LOUD, the tables were way too CLOSE - everyone was packed in there! S we chose to sit under heat lamps on the sidewalk where we could at least hear each other. If you actually want to go out to dinner with friends to talk to each other, visit, and engage in conversation, go elsewhere! But if you love the noise and don't mind shouting to your table mate, the food is tasty!
Very ordinary dining experience. Everything just average - no wow factor for any aspect.
First time eating here for a celebration lunch, and I must say I was pleasantly surprised! Excellent Peruvian cuisine, the menu was amazing with a lot of authentic and tantalizing options. The Ceviche Trio is an excellent starter for a group, and I highly recommend it. In terms of the main courses, I had the Seafood Paella and was not disappointed. The Surf and Turf Saltado also was a delicious dish and excellent choice. In terms of drinks, I had the Chicha Morada Sour, which was a great and authentic cocktail. Overall my group was all satisfied with their dishes and appetizers, and I would definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone! I will be back! Gracias Limon!
Very loud room but very good food and superb amarillo sauce!
Probably should get the chicken and seviches. I had a surf and turf stir fry with grass fed filet and shrimp. Meat and fish quality are very good and this place is not expensive. But I had asked to waiter to tell the chefs to make mine less salty (use less soy sauce), but they did not. Mine was still very salty. It was still good and I ate it because I was hungry. Also it took a while for our waiter to come around. It was however quite busy on a Friday evening
This was my 2nd visit and food was just as amazing as the first visit. Excellent staff, checked on our table very often during out meal.
You must try the empanadas!
Thank you for dining with us! We hope to have the opportunity to serve you again soon!
We (3 of us) shared Tuna Tartar and half chicken with sides. Everything was tasty and there was plenty of food. We were surprised at how low the bill was. It included a wine and a really yummy pisco sour!
Thank you for dining with us! We're thrilled to see you enjoyed your meal and experience with us! We hope to have the opportunity to serve you again soon!
Excellent food, fast and friendly service. The space is big and the noise level is HIGH. We were there on a Friday night and it was packed, with people waiting outside for tables. Speaking of which, there are outdoor tables out front, with good sized heaters (it gets cool and windy in Burlingame) - would be a lovely place to sit outside on a fine night, and probably less noisy. The food was terrific, my faves were the Polpo (octopus) and the dry fried green beans. Everything came out in a flash and out server could NOT have been nicer! Really a terrific place.
Thank you for dining with us and for sharing your dining experience with us!! We hope to have the opportunity to serve you again soon!
The place was packed and very noisy. The service was very good. I had vegetable empanadas and Yuma Fries. The empanadas were very tasty because they were dip fried. I would have liked them baked.
My husband and my grandson had the Pollo a la Brasa and CevIche and liked both.
Thank you for dining with us!
