As always the food was great as was the service. This is my goto place for lunch in the West Loop. Normally I get the Bulls Eye french toast but I tried the Tonkatsu sandwich and it was a nice change up. Cooked perfectly and a fun take on Tonkatsu.
Fun, playful environment with a creative menu. An Asian-inspired breakfast dish with a scallion biscuit, called This Little Piggy went to China, as well as the homemade bread were hits. A salad and another dish felt just a little too seasoned, but were yummy overall. Service was friendly and good. Really enjoyed our visit.
worst experience in my 10 year life in Chicago. I have no idea why people go there. Waiters are not present, worst service, foods are awful, I barely ate. I wasted my time and money. My friend asked me not to leave any tips.
We had a very good time. The menu is great for all our diverse requests. Vegan options were delicious as well as good selection for kids. They had crayons and booths which make dining. With youngsters easier. Very casual atmosphere but food was flavorful and not over salted. Fresh ingredients. We will go back!
Great brunch place, just make sure you make reservations. The wait can be long during the weekend. You can't go wrong with any dish here.
It was alright. My friends and I made reservations here because we're fans of chef, Stephanie Izard. The food was delicious, especially the crab dip (minus not enough crackers for dipping). For the price it was alright. The server however did not come around but twice, I had didn't even get a beverage refill that I paid $3.50 for a Sprite. I have no desire to go back but I will be dreaming of the crab dip.
The food was good, not great. Had hot crab dip (definitely ask for extra crackers as they only give 8), fish tostadas, Los Drowned sandwich (this was the best of it all), and smoked french fries($6 for fries since meals don’t come with sides). They need to work on their air conditioning, as it was not sufficient to keep it cool to a comfortable level. Had to ask server for ice three times, but other than that she was great. Great beer selection! I think will try again for breakfast.
Little Goat is the laid back member of the Goat family, offering diner inspired dishes with elevated additions. Their take on chicken and waffles is particularly lust worthy- sweet and savory, crunchy and juicy, all at the same time. Overall I rate it 4.5 stars. Super yummy food offset by an oddly hot and humid environment (ac problems?) and a totally adequate service experience. Would definitely go back, just for the bites.
Do not go here with a large party. The service was terrible, the food was mediocre. You can do better!
The food was great, but the service was some of the worst that I’ve ever experienced. Our waiter had to be tracked down by a food runner so we could order drinks. The bad service dampened the overall experience.
Hey, the prices were reasonable for an Iron Chef's restaurant. And the food tasted like one.
We waited far too long for our food. The Broccoli side dish arrived before our entrées. And it was cold. Entrées arrived 15 minutes later. They were cold too. The waitress apologized, and took the broccoli off our bill, but it was a very disappointing experience. We were there for almost 2 hours, not because we enjoyed the ambience, but because it took forever to get our food. It was our second time there, but we will not be returning.
We were entertaining friends from NYC who are used to exceptional dining options. Our guest said if she lived in Chicago that she would move around the block from this establishment and never cook again. Our party of 6 had everything from waffles to the patty melt and everything was outstanding! Will return again very soon. One suggestion is to work on the valet service; it took 15 to leave our car and also to pick it up from the valet man. You need more Valets as the cars were blocking traffic, other drivers are honking at us rightfully so...this needs to be smoothed out.
Best upscale diner in town!
Every dish is so interesting, spiced-just-so and creative. Little Goat is my go-to lunch and breakfast spot for out-of-towners and friends alike. Order the chickpea salad. Also, the omelette of the day. Most of all the cauliflower bibimbap. Yum.
Incredible food as always.
So great! My first time dining here and was happy to be greeted with the options of gluten free, dairy free and vegan menus! (Both my friend and I have restrictions so their was great!) The good was wonderful and it felt like a small town diner with great Chicago eats.
First time at Little Goat and we were delighted with the welcome, the staff and their attention to us. The food was perfect as we wanted small plates with enough food for an evening meal. We’ll be back!!
Interesting menu, something for everyone. Always a great choice!
Friendly and accommodating service staff, relaxed atmosphere. We had a 19-month-old with us. No problem with getting a highchair and a kid's menu. They also had 4-packs of crayons for coloring on a placemat. Service was efficient.
We made a reservation, but arrived early and we ended up getting seated prior to our reservation. The staff were very nice, and treated us very well. I ordered the Blueberry Pancakes with a chocolate goats milk, which was very good. My wife chose This Little Piggy Went To China, and a side of Cheesy Grits. It was very tasty, but it was seasoned aggressively. Thankfully the Cheese grits helped to balance the saltiness of This Little Piggy Went to China. The diner had a really nice vibe! Our waitress was great giving us helpful info about the area. I would definitely choose to eat here again when in the area. On a side note, there is valet parking in front of the restaurant that was $16 for 4 hours. There’s other places in the area that offer parking a bit cheaper, but the valet is convenient.
Four of us had a fabulous breakfast on a Saturday morning. We had reservations so no wait and very prompt service. All the food was delicious and our out of town friends also agreed it was one of the best brunches that had had. Portions are very generous and some of the best coffee tasted at Little Goat. Little Goat makes it very easy to make sure that this restaurant is always on the top of the list of places to take friends.
Great service. Our server was very attentive and friendly and even though we were early for our reservation, we were seated right away. Past two visits, we waited a long time even though we were on time for our reservation, so this was a pleasant surprise.
Inventive takes on standard breakfast fare. We tried the okonmayaki and this little piggy went to China. Both were delicious! Quick service
Food was amazing and the service was quick and friendly. Happy you can make reservations at this place now.
Loved the food- Izard is a beast! Totally recommend to anyone for a great breakfast
Great breakfast/brunch spot. Service was wonderful and food was delicious.
This was my second trip to Little Goat. The first time was really great, and I was excited to take my family there. Tip from this visit: don't order things from this menu that you can get at any diner - be open and explore. the Okonomiyaki is fantastic, as are the hash browns, and I highly recommend. Sadly, the addition of mushrooms to the gravy on the Big Biscuit and Gravy wasn't enough to make it stand out, and our son insisted on getting Blueberry Pancakes despite urging to try something else - as expected, they were... blueberry pancakes. I get that a menu has to appeal to a variety of palates, but the inclusion of really average fare to accommodate seems to lessen the overall experience. That said, your experience willcompletely depend on your choices, so be bold and give this establishment the opportunity to show you what it can really do by ordering a chef-created dish.
Use to love little goat, but this will be our last visit.
Squeezed eight adults into a booth, we were an early reso.
2 bday celebrations in our party
Server seemed perturbed by everything we asked about.
Food was mediocre at best.
Sorry we will not be coming back
Our first time to Chicago and had heard about Girl and a Goat. Decided to give the diner version a try and was not disappointed. The whole family had a delicious meal. If we are ever back in the area, we will return.
Having greatly enjoyed The Girl and the Goat, I was excited for the opportunity to have lunch at the Little Goat Diner. The menu is terrific and varied with a lot of different fused flavors. Our waiter was awesome with both attention and recommendations. I had the Los Drowned sandwich with gluten free bread. Beef was done well though a pretty flat taste. Sandwich flavors overall worked but the bread doesn't hold. Also got the fries and they were thin and crisp and well seasoned.
It's a little bit meat heavy and heavy large dishes but the food is delicious.
I'd go back.
Only reason for the 4 star on service was it took a good 6 minutes for anyone to check on us and give us water and another 5 minutes for our waiter to take our order. But was an over all great experience and great food.
Our third time here, and we are never disappointed. Boyfriend and I are adventurous foodies. Mother in law, not so much. We were a bit nervous taking her there, but felt it was a safe bet because most menu items are traditional, but with a bit of flair. She is NOT one to hold back an opinion, but she loved everything. Tried something from each of our plates (Little Piggy Went to China, Grilled cheese, The Fat Club, and she ordered the Reuben), which is super adventurous for her, and she was amazed at how good everything was! Thank you for pleasing our picky, down home cooking, mother.
I have been to the Girl and the Goat numerous times, and the Little Goat Diner once prior. They were all fantastic the first times. However, this most recent visit to The Little Goat was just plain bad. There seemed to be no care that went into the food. The Vanilla malt was terrible, the biscuits and gravy had way to many mushrooms, our nachos (which we've ordered before) were soggy, and my burger was very dry. One party member enjoyed their fish tostadas greatly. We will probably be sticking to Girl and the Goat from now on if we decide to eat at one of her restaurants, very unimpressed this time.
Table was ready on time. Good service. GREAT food - have to have the blueberry pancakes.
Food was spectacular and the portions were large. The staff was very friendly! Loved it.
Always a go-to place. Great food, cool space, friendly staff
Food was amazing but it was loud.
Terrible service and I felt sick the rest of the night! Awful meal!
