LOVE the food, always amazing. Must have the Lobster Bisque
Food was delicious but they sat us in a very dark corner. Took a long time for waitstaff to greet us but they apologized for the delay and bought us our appetizers which was very classy. I had the Eggplant Parmesan which was delicious but served with a side of linguine with pesto sauce which was also good but found it odd that they would pair red sauce eggplant parm with a green sauce pasta.
First time impressions from our party were uniformly positive regarding food, value and outstanding service by Susie.
Food was excellent! Had 7 people for birthday gathering & appetizers, entrees (lamb chops, pasta, crab cakes) were all delicious.
Service was disappointing. Took forever for waiter to come by table (15 minutes) & then told us ‘Happy Hour’ ended 5 minutes earlier. Had we known, we would have gotten drinks directly from the bar. Took forever to place dinner order & then he put ‘shrimp’ on the wrong entree. Had to send 2 entrees back to kitchen while the rest of us ate our dinners. The restaurant was not that busy, believe 3 other tables inside (& several customers dining outside on patio).
Drink menu was limited — numerous wine selections, but limited specialty drinks (believe only 5). We asked waiter if they could make a Moscow Mule, daiquiri, sea breeze, etc. and he had to check w/bartender. They did make these.
We spent over $425, but they couldn’t give us a free piece of cake for my husband’s birthday—they gave us a free scoop of gelato for $3. They also automatically added 20% gratuity to the check.
Food was terrific (once we got the correct entrees), but service was disappointing on this special occasion.
So impressed by the food! The Lobster + Shrimp fra Diavolo was the star of our meal and was truly amazing! My date is already planning our next visit. One suggestion for those with a hearty appetite, order the Lobster + Shrimp fra Diavolo with extra pasta so you don't waste the delicious sauce.
First time here and not overly impressed. Completely understaffed and although our server was nice and accommodating service was slow. Not blaming her because she was completely overwhelmed due to lack of support. Food was just okay, not that bad but not that great. We will give it another try to see if this was just a one time mishap.
Love this place, super cute and amazing food everytime!
Food was very good and the service was great! I have tries aeveral things and liked everything so far.
Great food, awesome waiter - will definitely be back.
Graduation dinner. Great time
We had a delightful time....food was yummy! There were 7 of us and the staff was fun but it was extremely busy so they were very busy and a bit overwhelmed. I would like to try again when it was NOT so crazy!
(It was graduation at Elmhurst college so very busy -even with reservations we needed to wait a bit)
I called the restaurant in advance to discuss the menu because one guest has allergies to onions and garlic. I specifically asked about pork chops and lamb and was told that menu items could be made to order and the allergy issues would not be a concern.
Our server was either very new or poorly trained. The bar could not make either cocktail we requested - very common drinks in most restaurants.
When finally ordering we were informed that all menu items had onion or garlic. After checking with the chef our server stated that a hamburger would be the only choice without onions or garlic.
I asked for the check and left - never to return. This was somewhat serendipitous because we took a short walk to a nearby restaurant named Victory and enjoyed a terrific dinner and our drinks of choice.
Great food and great service. It was an excellent experience.
Great place all around. Food and service good. Noise level perfect.
Delicious food and attentive service. Great location close to theater.
A great place and delicious food with wide selection. The wall decor and carpets have helped the noise level considerably. One of our favorite places.
the salmon was really undercooked...which we did tell our server:(
and the burger was really overcooked
I could see if it was busy but there were only a couple of tables when we got there
a little disappointed
overall a nice mean
Thought the cost was a little high for lunch our bill came to $90.00with tip for 3 people with one glass of wine each for 2 of the guests. The food was very good as was the service, dishes served were the pear and caramelized onion flat bread, tortalacci vodka, and crab louie salad. We sat inside but the outdoor seating looked inviting but it was a little chilly when we visited
The food was delicious. Their bread is very tasty but they don’t give you very much if it. Our server was very nice. It’s pretty loud and hard to hear at times.
Food was excellent and our server was so sweet. He checked our IDs for alcohol and noticed it was my almost friends birthday, so he brought out a free dessert. It was so nice (and delicious)!
This was our first visit to Livia. The food was excellent and the service top notch. In person in our party has a severe lactose allergy and our waiter was very knowledgeable and helpful with these issues. Can’t wait to return.
The food was delicious and the service was great! I had the pasta with vodka sauce and my husband had the hoisin pork chops. Both were amazing! I would definitely go back again.
Food was delicious, wait staff was friendly and attentive.
Great place for a date night! Food was very tasty. Service was great!
Wonderful food and excellent wait staff!!!
The eggplant parm and ribeye were fantastic. We had a great experience.
For some reason the bartender was our server even though there was another server assisting all the other tables around us! After having no attention nor an appetizer after 20 minutes after having placed our order I approached the bartender asking if somehow our table was "dropped". She said, "no and that the food would be arriving soon." Our appetizer did arrive after she went into the kitchen and then proceeded to advise that the one entree my guest ordered was no longer available. She advised that she was awaiting a response from the kitchen to whether they had any chicken left but they did not. Glad you advised us 20 minutes after. I actually sent them an email advising of our experience and of today no response. Sorry Livia, there are better places to dine in Elmhurst and Oak Brook.
Went to Livia for Saturday brunch with a friend. We had two different flatbreads and both were excellent. It can get a bit noisy especially if there is a group in the large room (which there was). Overall a great experience.
A resident of Elmhurst but a first time at Livia, celebrating my girlfriends birthday as noted in the reservation. You call it Energetic I call it noisy ,when the noise level is so loud that it's hard to talk across the table with you date "it's noisy" not Energetic. We enjoyed two appetizers, the Burrata was excellent also the mushroom flat bread . The entree's were less than what we expected for the price. Crab cakes ,ok, the Chicken Limone was almost tasteless. Celebration of my dates birthday they offered her a complementary dessert so we both ordered. Here selection was the Italian Donuts served with a chocolate sauce, powder sugar and a side of creme anglase ,very tasty. I ordered the caramel gelato, also very good. The dinner included a total of three drinks to the tune of $135 with tip. The complementary dessert was given to me since it was the less costly of the two, now that a classy place wouldn't you agree.
There are many other resturants in Elmhurst that are more enjoyable.
I am a customer who frequents Livia several times per month. I have only written a review once before and it was great. I rarely reserve on Open Table so I don't get the opportunity, but I wanted to write to express my disappointment in my dining experience on Thursdaay night. First of all the scheduled musician did not play because a patron was sitting in his performing spot -I mean REALLY-not one other spot to play at?
But most of all my VERY FAVORITE dish was removed from the menu . It is the SQUARE MEAL SALMON . I order that dish 3 out of 4 times that I come to Livia and I have to say that I will likely not choose Livia as a place to go nearly as often as I come. Sometimes I come with a group of 10-sometimes just 2 or 4 of us-but it is almost always because I choose the place -and for the Square Meal Salmon. My husband was disappointed when you removed pasta carbonara but you continued to make it for him. Your chef was NOT willing/able to make the Square meal for me. I instead chose the new salmon salad which I felt was dry and flavorless compared to square meal Needless to say Im sad to see it go -and will watch to see if it ever returns-Meantime Im sure you will do just fine without my patronage but its likely a once a year place for me now as opposed to 2-3 x /month
Loved everything about this place
Excellent service and value. Recommended for daily dining or special events.
Perfect for date night. Food was delicious and Megan was a Gem!
Great food ! Tasty ricotta appetizer !would go back!
i had the square meal salmon salad it was delicious! My husband had the tortellini and loved them as well.
Our service good and the dinner was fabulous!! I ask to switch out the potato’s to risotto and it was wonderful that they can change items out to make your meal experience great!!
We had a fantastic evening. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding as always. It is our favorite restaurant and it was my 13 year old daughters pick for where she wanted to celebrate. The owner always walks around and speaks with the customers and checks in on their experience.
Thrilled to have this restaurant in Elmhurst.
First time there. Food was delicious and server was great. Very enjoyable evening
Consistently great menu, food is very goood. All their restaurants are enjoyable. We love the lamg ragu and short ribs. Flat breads are yummy
Suzie our server is always very pleasant and takes great care of us every time we dine at Livia. The lamb chops melted off the bone. The chicken parmigiana and fettuccine was delicious!! Our favorite restaurant!!
