Nice neighborhood establishment. Bartender was very friendly and some of the staff were there dining with family (which is a good sign).
Owner stopped by to personally ask me about my dinner. Would go again!
"The cousins" had a mini reunion and the 6 of us had delicous meals, drinks and service. My salmon with raspberry was delicous and the others were all complimentary on their meals
Coming here for many years when I come to Chicago. Restaurant getting too old. Needs a complete redo.
Food is still good but service was below standard. Our waiter (tall man) was not pleasant at all. Got the impression he could care less about us dining in the restaurant much less his table. We dined early evening before the crowd.so there was no reason to be impatient.
As always, food is very good. Service was good. Love having this restaurant in the neighborhood.
Wonderful meal -- great salad, great dressing.
The specials were wonderful -- we had the blackened scallops, the steak with scallops; also, a reg on the menu, the ribs.
Dessert should not be passed up!
Wow how the mighty have fallen, had the worst steak of my life so much fat thin as can be just gross. The menu and appys are so outdated. You walk in it’s filthy outside with the gross people smoking outside the slot machine place. They should shut the doors of this place. It’s dark and smells gross please stay away from here
It was my first time visiting Louie Chophouse the food was very good. I met Louie, the owner which he was very visible and stop by to check to see how everything was going. The waiter was very prompt and attentive to our needs. I will be definitely visiting there again.
The waitress we had was thw slowest worst waitress on the floor. The appetizers were good, but the food was not up to par. It used to be great. Last night was horrible.
It was horrible I used to love Louie’s but not anymore. I will never ever step foot in there again. The waitress snatched the menus out of our hands first off then we waited for our food and got it an hour or so later. The manager had an attitude the waitress had an attitude the food was not good we sent the steak back two times after that we just said forget the steak didn’t even eat. Other people was sending their food back also. I will never go to eat there again.
Celebrating Father’s Day
The food is amazing and the price is even better. Where can you go and get a Ribeye that comes with a salad, vegetables, plus a side for under 40.00. The Best Steak house on the Southside!!!!
Our family always enjoys a great dinner at Louie's
This is a great “go to” “in town” place to go to and take people. Great food, helpful and patient servers!
Great food, great service, great ambiance will definitely go back again, and refer a friend.
Great experience, good food, amazing drinks!
Mother’s Day was my first time visiting Louie’s Chophouse . I took my mother there and she totally enjoyed herself along with me . The food was delicious the waitress Brenda was so attentive and kind . The atmosphere was wonderful I would definitely recommend this restaurant for delicious meal and overall good outing. I’m so glad it was referred by a friend who attended a Christmas Party there last year. I will be going back.
Good as always. Temperature was colder than normal. Everyone was redonning their jackets. Ladies received roses. Mom's day menu was a slight change. Had the grouper done Greek style. Shrimp bisque was outstanding.
Mother’s Day dinner was the occasion and the service was amazing. The food was great.the pork chops were delicious (just a little tough) we will be returning
Went there for Mother’s Day party at four we had a reservation had to wait a little bit it was busy night as expected. They did their best to get us seated we enjoyed the food great price. Would definitely recommend it to family and friends.
Absolutely worst service in the world. They are not only understaffed, but have in competent wait staff to compound the issue. This used to be one of my favorite places but probably won’t be returning after this awful experience. There were periods were our waitress wouldn’t come by for 20 minutes. One of the dishes was severely overlooked and had to send it back. It took almost 3 hours to get through our dinner because the waitstaff was so bad and had to ask to refill water glasses 3 times. stay away from this place.
Everything was awesome!! The zucchini appetizer is amazing and the ahi dinner melted in your mouth!!
Love this place!!!!!
The food is consistently good. Although the restaurant was fairly empty, the service was a little slow.
We've been going to Louie's for many years. It's been our go to place for special occasions. Friday was our 50th wedding anniversary so we chose Louie's and once again had an excellent meal and service.
Perfect from start to finish
Great for late night dining. Appetizer platter amazing!
Myself and my wife have been there several times. Food and service always good we really enjoy ourselves there. Be back soon.
Great evening at Louis. Love the octopus. My filet was excellent. Great service too
Our server had to many tables, plus the back room w a party. I got a bone in steak. It came with 2 shrimp. They were good, steak came in cracked pepper and blue cheese. 2 things I don't care for. The waitress never said that's how it comes, or I never would of ordered it. I had to scrape off the blue cheese, the cracked pepper corn was very potent. I never use pepper on anything. The steak was good, just not my favorite. My wife ordered the halibut special. The hostess came out to say they were out of it, so she got the salmon. Food is good, just off, since both our dinners were not what we wanted. Our time was at 6pm, so kinda shocked they were out of the halibut special.
The food was not good. 4 of us had the TBone steak which mine was over cooked (charred) and the other two were Smokey and not good. Disappointing we usually love this place but today it was not good at all.
Waited a long time for main course. Chicken piccata was just chicken w/plain chicken like broth juice. No lemon at all.
Accommodated big group without any difficulty
The food was overly expensive and the steak was too fatty
Most of the food we ordered was cold and had very little flavor with the exception of the special catch of the day - the snapper. The snapper had too much flavor, so much so that the seasoning and liquids it was cooked in overpowered the flavor of the fish.
Food was delicious, service was great. I believe you can replace the carpeting., it’s old and dirty. I had 2 Pina coladas and for the price that you charge, my glass should of been bigger and the drink more tasty. I will go back for the food but I wouldn’t go for drinks only unless the bartender gets better at making drinks.
Why do you ask if this dinner is for a special occasion? I said it was for my Mom’s 95th birthday but it’s not like anyone said Happy Birthday. Also the dining room was very empty but we were seated right on top of the only table in the whole place that was occupied! Waiter paid more attention to a table of diners that were friends or coworkers than he did to our table. Come on, I paid $100.00 for Lobster I deserved better treatment. Make your customers feel special please.
Great food, wonderful service. We'll be back again!!
We had a nice evening, celebrated Valentine's Day. The steak ordered was much more rare than anticipated (asked for medium well, what we received was definitely medium rare). Not ones to return food we dealt with it. Other than that the seafood was delicious and the drinks were great.
I visited your restaurant Saturday 16/feb/2019 and I have to admit that I was a bit disappointed with the food. Not a bit of flavor in my meal. The highlight of my meal was the calamari, the shrimp and the 2 glasses of wine I had... I ordered the surf and turf and my medium well filet mignon was WELL done which means it came with all the char that comes with ordering a WELL done steak. But remember I ordered MEDIUM well.. I now completely understand the disclaimer that you have printed on your menu when ordering a well done steak because my literally ate pieces of *charcoal*.. As for my lobster the butter sauce was anything but butter. It tasted like warm olive oil. I used all my lemons to squeeze juice into the oil to give it flavor. My solo date would have been a complete bust if it weren't for the the hostess and my server's wonderful personalities and for the beauty of your interior (you could totally get lost in the ambiance).. Oh and if only first time customers got as much as attention as the regulars then another trip to Louie's would be considered. Right now I'm not confident in saying I'd recommend your restaurant (at least not for the food).
Thank you in advance for taking the time to read my comment/ concerns.
