Löwenbräu am Gendarmenmarkt
Nice place, doesn’t let you down
Not the best beer hall experience we’ve had in Berlin. Felt very laid on for the tourists, not very clean and the food wasn’t great. An ok experience but probably wouldn’t go back.
One of the best places with German food in Berlin!
If you are in a rush for touring the city, pick somewhere else. The waitress & waiter tried their best to deliver the food, but the waiting time is so long and it took us 1 hr to have the starter. They even missed the order for the table next to us, which they arrived even earlier than us.
Potato soup was really salty, the mains was okay but not that great, not worthy for one hour wait time.
Obviously, they are really busy on the Christmas Eve, but letting their customers wait for 2 hours for their food? That’s bit extreme
This is a busy, noisy, raucous, huge place. We were there at a busy time but had made a reservation with Open Table so felt assured we would get a table. However, they have no one to greet guests so everyone was fighting for any open spots including tables at which other guests were already seated. We didn't want to get lost in the shuffle so we worked our way to the bar to get someone's attention. The bar tender found us a waiter who sat us with another couple but did not acknowledge our reservation. There were not nearly enough wait staff and many guests around us were clearly frustrated waiting for food or to pay their bill. It took almost half an hour to get the waiter's attention to place our order, another 20 minutes or so to get the beer, and another 30 minutes or so to get our food. We sat in clear view of the kitchen door and saw very few plates of food coming out of the kitchen in all that time so many others were also waiting. The beer was OK. The food was poor. My husband had a very average curry wurst. I had beef goulash that was tough and watery. The prices were way too high for the quality of the food. When we got the waiter's attention to pay the bill he told us that this wasn't a German restaurant because 75% of the guests were tourists.
Pretty good food but The service wasn’t great. I was billed twice for the same drink and once I complained response was well I can’t do anything about the bill now because I’ve already put it through the computer. Kind of spoil things
Food is ok and price reasonable. They ignored the special request and apparently got confused with the reservation. Also, very strange, we were pushed at the end of an empty section of the restaurant while the main section was half empty... Decent place for a quick informal meal.
Great server, delicious strudel fun atmosphere able to get a table on short notice
What's not to love about a brauhaus? This spacious gasthaus serves great beer, delicious traditional German food (arguably the best apfelstrudel in the region!) and friendly, personable service. Great for a rendezvous, a group, a memorable meal!
Good German food, but very slow service. luckily the waiter was very friendly and apologized for the delay.
It was Christmas. We came and they couldn’t find our booking. They offered us a table in a hidden room. Obviously we left.
Easy to get to. Service was good and the food was good.
Great food, excellent staff.
Place very quite it was a Monday lunchtime
Portions of meal enough to feed three people
I recommend the swine Haxe be prepared to eat a mega portion
