Love the vibe at Lucie. We chose this restaurant tonight because it is upscale comfort food. I had pasta carbonara and my husband had the mussels. All kinds of options on the menu, something for everyone.
The food was unfortunately really bad :/ I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. One of our dishes was actually spoiled and they didn’t take it off the bill. Had high expectations, which sadly fell flat.
The place was empty. Not sure how they stay in business. The prior Brasserie Joe was so much a better restaurant.
Food was delicious, drinks not so much, ambiance was nice and aesthetically pleasing. Probably the worst service, ever. I understand staffing issues, but we were table 1 of 4 total in the whole restaurant plus a party in the back. All our server had to do was communicate with us but she hardly checked in with us or even looked over. We had to grab somebody else to ask for a water refill and to take our order. It was definitely a slow night. One table even left, after waiting 30 minutes to get their order taken. Would I go back? Probably not. Might do take out though.
Food was mediocre. Cool not warm. Service was lacking.
On a recent visit at 11:45am on a Sunday, found the service to be quite slow even though the dining room was only about 1/3 full. It took a good 15 mins for the server to come to our table and then during the meal, she seemed to disappear and we were unable to locate her for a drink order after our food had been delivered (by another person). Even though the service was a bit off, the food MORE than made up for it. The items we ordered were hot, cooked to perfection and no complaints whatsover! So simply chalk this up to a server being a bit off - will definitely go back!
Pre holiday pops dinner
Love the atmosphere and the tall tops in the middle- made it easy to talk to friends. Server didn’t greet us for 10+ minutes and even when they did they just asked for our drink orders. Not much “service”. When we got our food, half of the meals were cold and had to be sent back. I think they just microwaved the fries. The food was very good though!
Very slow service. Out of many items but weren’t told until we asked.
I think the food is okay. I had chicken waffle and it’s good. The service is mehhh. They weren’t rude though. And the restaurant is not noisy so good.
Very nice and cute interior. Had a reservation for Sunday brunch but definitely didn’t need one. Overall, food was decent but definitely not worth the price. Our service definitely below average but bartender and hostess seemed great so could have just been our particular waitress. Ok if in need of a bite to eat and other options are busy, but wouldn’t choose this spot on purpose.
Worst service ever, food ok, but only luke warm at best. Cold French fries. Drinks came out perfect first time around although we waited over 30 minutes for them. Put a second round in and after another 30 minutes they came out wrong-completely different than the first round. Weird. Would not go back… a shame because it’s a good vibe with potential
Delicious food- we had brussel sprouts, cheeseburger spring rolls and onion rings for appetizers and they were all so tasty. I'd also recommend the mussels, bolognese, steak frites, and chicken sandwich. Great atmosphere for a Saturday night too!
The service was very slow. Took 15 mins for someone’ to show up at our table for just a drink order. Entrees took forever to come out.
Two out of three dinners were good. The third, ahi tuna, was over cooked and left us wondering if it was truly ahi grade tuna. The two bartenders in a half filled bar, two hours before closing, were very inattentive. It took a long wait for a drink order, they never came back to offer a second. While one cleaned up, the other focused on a conversation with another couple. I had to "interrupt" his conversation to ask for the bill.
Ugh. What a mess. I never leave a bad review but in this case I’d like to spare future diners from the experience. The restaurant group that owns this better pay attention to what is going on here. Simple bad. Bad service, filthy bathrooms, tables unmade (excuse me can we have spoons, sugar and salt). The floor under the table was full of crumbs and a dirty bandaid. But worst of all the food that came out of this kitchen should have been an embarrassment.
The food is good. There is a big gap for improvement in service. It looks like they just have to do the job done.
The restrooms are clean but out of 4 stalls only 1 work.
The place is nice though.
Terrific food! Great ribs, fried chicken sandwich.
Have to work a little on coming up to Brasserie Jo's (last restaurant in space) reputation, but only as to service; food is exceptional.
No one at desk to greet us for our reservation. Took ten minutes
to get seated in an empty restaurant. One aloof gentleman
seemed put out by having to come greet us. Then a charming young woman
made a special effort to give us a window table.
Great setting, fabulous food. Service was a little too slow
and lacking warmth.
We will come back, perhaps to sample those cinnamon buns?
Terrible service! Waited 1hr for our food, water never got replaced and orders got mixed up.
Terrible slow service. Two of three entrees came and the third one came 20 minutes later after many requests but it was the wrong entree.
Bloody Mary’s were bland
Entrees were mediocre at best
Walked out paying $100 with tip - over priced. They did comp the late/wrong entree.
Business breakfast - it was serviceable (I was meeting with someone staying at the hotel), but I wouldn't go there by choice. We both ordered avocado toast with poached egg, and the bread wasn't really toasted at all, and the egg was cold (how is that possible?) Service was friendly and helpful, and the room is nice, but otherwise, not much to recommend it.
Terrible. Forgot our drink order. Food was not hot. Server never returned to table to check on order. Too long of a wait between courses.
Enjoyed our family brunch. Service was very good. Unfortunately, some of the meals were cold.
Breakfast was very good. The American Breakfast was a very good value - complete breakfast for $20.
The service was very good. The food was good overall. Squash bisque was very good but could have been slightly hotter. Arugula salad was excellent. Pork shank was excellent but sides just okay. Halibut was very good. Chocolate espresso tart was good.
Highly recommend the menu and Food. Decor dull but comfortable. If you like conversation, a little too noisy for all in party of 4 to hear each other. Also, we could not hear our waitress with her mask on unless you sat right under her nose (and her English was fine).
Would definitely go again for dinner, depending on circumstances, and would recommend (with a caveat) for a variety of reasons - hours, location, menu, food, parking, casual atmosphere, friendly staff, aren't rushed. .
I missed the ambience of Brassiere Joe. Lucie's lacked warmth in its decor in an effort to be modern.
Excellent food and service
Crispy Ribs are reason enough to come back again and again. Oddly, the Duck Confit, listed as being glazed in a blood orange sauce, came to me with barbecue sauce instead. I had to swap dishes with my husband as I hate bbq sauce. We didn’t complain as I was sure I’d misread the menu but upon checking it online I realized the restaurant was to blame. Oh well. Also, if going in colder temps, bring a shawl or sweater. It was pretty chilly.
Lucie is nice for a hotel restaurant but the large TV over the bar and the seating arrangements of the tables under almost flood lights did not make for a cozy ambience. We were a party of two and on a quiet night without a lot of guests there, would have appreciated being given a booth rather than a tiny table because the amount of dishes ordered crowded our table. The food was better than average in quality but not better than average in in flavor. Salad dressing was almost flavorless. The steak frites dish was cooked too long and fries left a lot to be desired. The beer list is good and local. Cocktails are fantastic in theory, but overpriced.
Wonderful Thanksgiving meal ! The service and food were great. Fantastic location.
Our first table had the most ridiculous chairs— way too low and only our heads were above the table. We asked to be reseated and our second table was better.
Service was slow and our server disappeared for long periods. We starred with ribs and a salad, both quite good. I then had mussels which were awful and should not have been served. My fries arrived barely warm.
There are much better dining options in the area.
We had lunch at the bar. The food was very good and cooked just the way we asked. Angel, the bartender, was so nice--a real asset to the restaurant. We had a lovely time.
Good food, nice surroundings, buzzy atmosphere, but nothing particularly special about it. Service, however, was excellent and welcoming.
We had a large party (7) with diverse tastes and the menu accommodated everyone. The entire party was pleased with their dinners and everyone had a lovely time. My only complaint is that as the evening progressed the noise level went up, which made conversation much more difficult.
We like its spacious dining room and a large bar. Our favorite bartender Ivan makes great cocktails. Food is good too,
Casual atmosphere and pretty decor. Staff was lovely, our waiter was very personable and super cute. Food was ok and wine was amazing but everything was very pricey. Parking garage was outrageous too. Glad I went but wouldn’t go again.
First time at Lucie but definitely not the last. Our food and cocktails were excellent and the service was also great. Highly recommend as your pre-event dinner spot if you're going to Symphony Hall.
