They didn't recognize any reservation other than calling in. We got there and they said they never heard of open table and not reservation for us even we showed them a confirmation

Poor service, average food, over priced.

Took the wife here for her birthday as it was highly recommended.

They only had 3 pasta dishes and 1 prawn dish on the menu.

Proprietor's kids were running around the restaurant breaking glass.

They forgot the 'Birthday Cake' that I had requested.

...and they couldn't take a debit card payment (as advertised) but insisted on cash only... well over €100 for 2 plates of pasta,... 4 prawns on a plate of lettuce, 2 glasses of prosecco and a bottle of water.

It's a good job my wife had some cash, otherwise I would have been short. So my wife ended up paying for a very poor meal on her Birthday...!

All in all,... very disappointing.

Keine Karte, keine Preise - das heisst das ganze läuft auf Vertrauen. Dann einen Weißwein zu empfehlen und hinterher 9,50 für das Glas zu nehmen, ist etwas ärgerlich. Ansonsten Service sehr freundlich. Essen gut, aber nicht besonders.

Machiavelli is my favorite place to eat in Frankfurt. Angelo is the perfect host! Great Italian food in a cozy environment.

Wir hatten das Thanksgiving Menü vorbestellt, jedoch war scheinbar kaum noch Truthahn da, denn wir haben quasi nur noch Reste bekommen (nur Kleinteile, nicht eine einzige richtige Scheibe), ausserdem keine Cranberry Sauce. Ausserdem haben wir ca 1 Stunde und 20 Minuten (trotz mehrmaligem Nachfragen) auf unseren Hauptgang warten müssen, obwohl wir bereits beim Eintreffen wegen unserer Töchter um Servieren von Vorspeise und Hauptgericht gebeten haben - was dann nicht geschehen ist). Leider insgesamt nicht empfehlenswert.

Trotz der Bestätigung der Reservierung wurden wir drei Stunden vor unserem Termin abgesagt, da das Restaurant wegen eines Betriebsurlaubs noch geschlossen ist, welche nicht auf die Webseite angegeben ist.

We had a wonderful night at Machiavelli! We had walked by so many times as we live in the neighborhood, and I am so glad we finally decided to try it. The food was excellent and so was the service. The atmosphere was perfect in a cute little Italian basement restaurant. The owner was very welcoming and personable. He got to know a little bit about us, and us about him. It almost felt as if we were dining in his home. We never saw a menu, but we loved it that way. He recommended a wonderful 4-course meal of antipasti, truffle ravioli, veal filet and dessert. He also brought out an excellent bottle of Primitivo at our request and talked to us a little bit about the Italian wine regions. Everything was prepared perfectly and was delicious. We will definitely be back to this neighborhood gem! Thank you for such a wonderful meal!
