Located in the Arts District of Los Angeles, Manuela unites chef, farmer and artist to create an authentic and original dining experience. Under the direction of Executive Chef Kris Tominaga, the menu celebrates seasonal ingredients sourced from the best farms and producers in Southern California.

Serving a wide range of vegetables, grains, fish, and game, Manuela also features an exemplary bar program, which serves classic cocktails using house-made bitters and tonics. Local beers are on tap, while the carefully selected wine list is designed to pair with the smoke and acid at the heart of Manuela’s menu.

Designed by Los Angeles native Matt Winter and named for Manuela Wirth, the restaurant is illuminated and animated by specially commissioned works from artists Paul McCarthy, Mark Bradford and Raymond Pettibon.

Wow. There aren't many places where I can say I wanted to try everything but this place qualifies. I wish I was hungrier. There's a level of care in the food that is hard to find but comes out in the taste. Can't wait to come back for more.

Made a reservation but one in our party was running late. I told the hostess we’d wait at the bar until she arrived since we were ok not being seated until our full party came — and she said she’d hold the table. When the last person in our party arrived, the hostess wouldn’t seat us even though there were plenty of tables open and reservation slots open. She kept insisting there was no way to seat us, so we looked up reservations on Open Table and asked if we could make a new reservation for 10 min. from now so they could seat us at a table. That’s when the manager stepped in to seat us. Such a bizarre policy and makes it not worth coming here again. I love Manuela and have recommended it to people for years. But I’m not likely to come back.

Overall we LOVED IT! Food was amazing and the space was super cool! Service was a little slow as we had to track our server down a few times. I would definitely go back if I was ever in LA!

Excellent food and I love the ambience of this restaurant. They do charge a 4% service charge that is supposedly for them to pay their staff’s health insurance. I would rather they be upfront on their pricing and incorporate those costs onto their menu prices. The service was pretty poor. Service started out good but went downhill. The waitress forgot to bring out a second round of drinks. We told the person who brought some food that we were waiting on drinks. Still took another 15 minutes for us to flag our waitress down and remind her of the drinks. We also had to ask someone to clear our empty drinks glasses and appetizer plates. This is after I gathered them to one side of the table and noticed a lot of workers passing us by. At the end we ordered two of the same dessert and she only brought us one. At least she didn’t charge us for that. It is disappointing when a place has excellent food but their servers and other wait staff is about what you might expect to find at a chain restaurant.

It’s become rather more expensive than it once was, and while the food is capable, it doesn’t quite warrant these near splurge-level prices. For example, $48 for a pork chop is a lot of money, especially given it’s served a la cart.

Easily made it to my favorite LA spots! Had a reservation on a Friday night with friends and immediately loved the ambiance. Food was great and cocktails are a must! We enjoyed the “most girls” and “final mess”. Definitely coming back to try their brunch!

The food was superlative as usual, truly amazing but the service was way too slow. It took over 45 minutes to get our food and other people who came after us were being served before we were. I am in the business so I understand the kitchen gets backed up at times, but our server could have come by and said something to us. Literally anything would have been nice like “sorry it’s taking so long” or “I’m sorry I forgot to put your order in” but nothing even after we asked twice.

Great brunch on a Saturday, juxtaposed to an art gallery, shops, and community garden. Environment feels grounded and earthy, food was excellent with approachable and friendly wait staff. Biscuits were heavenly and highly recommend. Great place to return for a romantic night or meal with friends.

Delicious food, and plated perfectly for sharing. We ordered the Trout Tartare, Burrata and Roe Salad, Dry Aged New York Strip, and Crème Fraiche Potatoes. The service was very attentive despite how busy the place was. Food and drinks came out quickly. Definitely recommend making a reservation as opposed to walking in, due to the organic traffic of the area and the restaurant’s popularity. My only gripe is it gets quite hot in the Hauser and Wirth building.

beautiful beautiful place, but i do have to say the menu pricing took me out. mind you i made reservations for a party of 10 for my sister. i know we had a service fee but then there was another 4% surcharge PER PERSON on top of that which i disputed because i’m fine with the 20% service fee for the group thing. food wise it was delightful. the biscuits with steamed butter and pimento cheese?!?! to die for. my scallop dish? $45+ for 4 bite size scallops? they were good but i needed more. staff was fine, helpful serving it felt a lil crowded but my sister was happy

I personally love Manuela. I love finding hidden gems in LA and althought Manuela is fairly popular, you definitely get that feeling of finding a hidden gem in downtown LA. I love the botanical garden and the way they kept a piece of LA present in the restaurant through the 90s graffiti art. I ordered a yummy salad, had a mimosa which they make with freshly pressed juice, and my friend ordered Chilaquiles. Delicious!

The food is delicious - especially good was the roasted cauliflower with date vinaigrette. Our waitress was fantastic and the host at the check in was great. I left something behind at the restaurant and they called me immediately- excellent service!

Manuela is always a vibe when I’m there. This time I was surprised by dining in the private room for my bday. Most private rooms are secluded from other restaurant guests which can be great for certain occasions. However, the energy of the restaurant lacks in those private spaces. Not with MANUELA. The brick warehouse design and ambiance is electric which can be seen and heard from their private dining room. The food is always GREAT and consistent. The service was impeccable which adds even more of an experience. Thank you Manuela for an incredible birthday experience.

We had a very lovely dinner. Everything we ordered was delicious including dessert. There were some more "experimental" items on the menu but there were plenty of other dishes to order. Service was attentive without being invasive and the ambience perfect. Will definitely return.
