The food was so good. 3 of us all ordered different food, and we all loved it.
Been to Marea half a dozen times. Disappointed this visit by the inattentive service and food not up to prior visits
Food was spectacular. Service was good but a little below par of what I was expecting
My favorite in Nyc!😍
Beyond perfection as usual. Five stars.
Non ho trovato nulla di eccezionale
Excellent my client loved it
Great server name Jose Luis.. Very knowledgeable about the menu...I love the BOMBOLINE.. Best one I ever had!
My wife and I ordered a pasta Conghili dish. It was fantastic! Had a great time at Marea. Will be back on our next visit to New York.
We had the four-course menu and were really satisfied and impressed by each of them. Ingredients were fresh and pasta was just the right consistency. We got three desserts and the coconut rice pudding was an obvious winner. Thanks Marea for such a great dining experience again!
Everything we are was delicious. Had the four course tasting menu. My wide and I shared multiple dishes. They knew we were sharing so they split everything without us asking. I thought that was amazing. The streak tartar was probably the best either of us have ever tasted. The pasta with the shrimp and chili, delicious. Scallops were perfection. Pasta with octopus was yummy. The lobster burrata was so good that we asked for extra bread to scoop the cheese from the bottom of the plate. The service was amazing, refilling everything as soon as possible. Loved it.
Excellent as usual. We’ve usually been here for dinner but lunch has been amazing also.
Exceptional service and food. Will be returning on our next trip to New York!
Highly recommend Marea! From start to finish outstanding experience; food, service, ambiance.
Fantastic New Year’s Eve lunch. Food was fantastic and the service was excellent. $67 lunch is a good value.
The food is really good, but the service is outstanding
Excelent food and perfect Service 👏👏😍
The food was generally excellent. My cervo was tasteless.
Expected to love this restaurant. Brother and his family dined here same time last year and said it was very good. 1 Michelin Star. Opted to order a la carte rather than choosing the prix fixe menu, party of 4, each of us chose 3 courses. First courses, 3 crudos and 1 oyster, all were all very good. Second course, pasta with king crab was delicious. Grilled octopus was fine. Two orders of "Astice" - lobster with burrata, basil, and eggplant had absolutely no flavor and was one of the most disappointing dishes I've ever had in a restaurant. Mains were 2 Halibut, 1 - 50 day aged sirloin, and the scallops. The steak had decent flavor, but my guest said it was cooked beyond the temperature he had requested. The Halibut was fine, and had a nice brown sear. The scallops were AWFUL. No sear, no flavor, a little too rare. 3 pieces come with the order. After eating the first one, I offered two of my guests a piece of the second scallop and asked for their opinion - mine was that it was reminiscent of eating warm pork fat. They agreed.
I left the third scaallop on the plate. All of the items that accompanied each main were unmemorable. We had a nice conversation with our waiter early on - but he disappeared somewhere towards the end of the meal and was replaced with someone else. NO ONE ever asked how dinner was. If this were any restaurant anywhere, it might be okay at best; this being a Michelin Star establishemnt, it all fell very short.
Pastas are amazing! The service, though, isn’t appropriate for a 2 Michelin star restaurant.
You can’t find a waiter when you need one and our waiter completely ignored a request we made as soon as we sat at our table....this is not acceptable in a restaurant where you spend over 100$ per person
Our group was there to celebrate our wedding and my birthday and all the staffs at the restaurant were very sweet and professional. Obviously the food was wonderful as the restaurant was known for! Best restaurant, best food and best service.
Ambiance & good food
Marea is one of the better Italian Restaurants around. We go at least once a year. Food was great and also the service.
The food was good, not great. Expected more at that price point. Service was exceptional.
Unfortunately had to wait over 20 minutes after we arrived with a reservation for lunch
Marea has been our first pick and favorite in NYC since early 2010's. We have been always fascinated by the meals, services and atmosphere every visit, but NOT tonight. Well, everyone looked exhausted and just wanted to go home early for Christmas. Polio and Fusilli were still remarkable, and Risotto was also impressive. Aside from that, spoon was not properly cleaned with stains on it, a couple of overcooked spaghetti were mixed with Fusilli, tissue running out in restrooms, and only hot water, literally HOT water available for hand wash. We have been experiencing and seeing Marea's phenomenal progression for almost ten year, but was it the sign to become ordinary from great?
Our usual go to when wanting a more upscale lunch is Jean-Georges, however, we decided to give Marea a try for a change.
We were seated in a lovely booth
1st course came right out, no amuse bouche offered.
My plate was not wiped, sloppy presentation.
Entrees took a ridiculous amount of time to be delivered and once they arrived both of our pasta dishes were lukewarm and served in cold bowls.
The table in front of us also had the same experience with a very long wait for entrees and once delivered they complained that the food was cold. They also had to ask for the side dishes that they had ordered and they didn’t arrive
until they had almost finished their entrees.
Overall: It was a nice atmosphere and the servers were nice although a bit scattered.
The food was tasty but not served at proper temperature.
I think for a more upscale, professional experience I would stick with Jean-Georges.
A great restaurant, with attention people and a expetacular food. Most of the wines in the list are very expensive, may be 15 is afordable.
Treated my parents to their first Marea experience.
They LOVED it! Our server, Luis was very helpful suggesting the most popular dishes on the menu. The quality of the food and superior service is consistent. Thank you Marea for another great experience!
It started with us needing to ask for service ... twice before we finally were able to order water and drinks.. at least 15 min after we were seated. Food arrived 40min after ordering. The octopus was over cooked and the lobster was tasteless.. no one came over to asked us if everything was ok. We then had to practically beg for another glass of wine ... main course came. My pasta was swimming in olive oil ... I couldn’t eat it.. no one asked and no one cared. .. I asked the busboy to ask our server for the bill... we left without a goodbye.. I’ve been to many Michael White restaurants including this one and never experienced this..
No ideas how can they got two stars. It’s cheap but not tasty. No surprise, really let me down. Service people never introduced the food when it’s coming. Only one tiny snack before appetizer. There is a lot needs to improve. It’s like the worst Michelin restaurant I’ve ever been to. Dessert was the the only thing worth a stars.
Worst dinner ever. Poor service. Cold and rushed food. Will never be back. It’s a shame because it used to be my favorite restaurant in nyc. Service, food and quality have gone down hill dramatically. I asked for the chocolate at the end and the waiter told me he preferred the Panna cotta so that’s what he brought me. After going to the restaurant regularly over the last 10 years, I won’t be back ever.
We get 30 minutes late... and we received a “rush stressful service” but besides that... awesome
Very good service and food👍
Lovely spot with truly outstanding service and amazing food. A most pleasant evening out . . .
Amazing ! One of the best dinners I’ve ever had!
Nice place, but not as outstanding as I remember from the last visit.
