Great food as per usual - although the current menu needs a bit of a shake up.
Service was great but the male waiter we had was loosing interest by the the end of the night and seemed to have an issue with us wanting to try wine. Still not rude enough to offset another great Marion experience.
Our original plan was to have a drink or two with breakfast before doing a few wines elsewhere on the way to pick up the child. Needless to say we ended up staying and enjoying what Marion has to offer. Had a window seat, sun was shining, delicious food (hard to go past the fried eggs and black pudding) and the Mimosas went down a treat.
Special pasta with sweet corn was delish, beetroot dish was also awesome. Rump cap was perfect as well!
Coffee was like dishwater. My second cup where I asked for double shot was not much better than first. Both lacked good crema.
Delicious food served in a comfortable setting and by efficient staff
Amazing wine selection, and the staff is great help if you want to try different wines. They're very friendly and knowledgeable. The atmosphere and food were also wonderful. Highly recommend and will be back!
Enjoyable service, flexible and delicious food. I will be back.
Great place to have lunch or dinner, love coming back to Marion every time.
Excellent service and a diverse/delicious menu, perfect for sharing
Lovely food, service a little disinterested and he farted over our table when serving the adjacent table, awkward and displeasing!
Faultless. The food was intriguing varied and excellent. Stylish and charming ambience and attentive service.
Fantastic evening at Marion for a family birthday. Great food and wines to match. Service very attentive and friendly.
Excellent wine recommendations to really tasty food! We loved it!
the bread alone is worth stopping in - amazing! (also the mussels, and the olives were a highlight)
Lovely weekend lunch date - superb food ambience and wines!
Great experience. The food was delicious. Friendly knowledgeable staff who made some excellent wine recommendations. Loved it.
Make sure you specify details of the chef’s selection before ordering — we had a terrible value because the waiter didn’t explain that we would get only two main dishes for four people (and we had requested a meatless pasta dish as one — but not the only — main dish). We definitely did not spend $65/person. They gave us fries to glut us toward end of dinner, a poor move. Also waiter didn’t know much about wine. You’d think for a wine bar...
Marion's food menu is beautifully complemented by their vast wine selection. The environment, both inside and out, is ideal for casual, intimate dining or with a larger group.
A very nice place for a good meal with great service and a nice wine list
Great service and attention. Food was on point. Loved the roast chicken
Had a lunch with five other friends on a Sunday afternoon and we chose the chef's selection. Two of our party had a couple of specific requirements which were met with a smile and thoughtful substitutions. This is the kind of effortless and considerate service I love about this place. Food is always spot on and great for those of us who want to eat well but not come away feeling sick because it is too rich or complicated. Wine list is lovely too. Will be back.
amazing food and wine, great vibe - I absolutely loved it
Food and wine were delicious, service good however if you don’t order the chefs menu it is a little difficult to choose the dishes and amounts.
Each of the four courses was perfect sized for one person. The ambiance was lovely, and the service was impeccable. will definitely return.
Our server was amazing. Wines outstanding.
The evening surpassed our expectations. The fish (flathead) hands down "the best". Haven't had fish that good in a long while. Service great. Pricing reasonable for more fancy night out. My only suggestion to make it better would be abit more room between tables.
Croissant and coffee were delicious. Staff not very warm. Music not relaxing.
The little sibling and next door neighbour to Cutler & Co is a fantastic place to eat, drink and be merry. The staff are super knowledgeable and passionate about the food and the wine. We had the chefs tasting menu which is a great way to taste what's fresh. The variety is great and the venue is chilled and lively. Highly recommended
We love Marion! The waiters are incredibly knowledgable and enjoy recommending wines and dishes. The wines are all so stunning as are the meals. The meals are priced at a point where you can get a few and share comfortably. Definitely going back to be immersed in the environment
We had an enjoyable meal, although we were placed on a small two-set table stuck at the end of the banquette, with a lot of traffic. The food is OK, but nothing spectacular. There are better wine bar/food places around.
Gorgeous food and massive wine choices. Best Espresso martini I ever had. My husband chugged his long black coffee - said it was the best he had ever had (he also used to be a barista so this is no small praise from him). Small round tables are a tiny bit small for dinner and a little rocky but otherwise it was perfect!
Spot on location, beautiful interior design, nice wine list, food lacks some balance.
Very good product, nice service and ambiance. Perfect place for food lovers
Sensational as always - a Melbourne icon - amazing food and great wine list
Great place, still love going here for a wine and some nibbles. Oh my gosh the bread is heaven! Service is not great however, they often leave the table unattended for long periods of time and our waitress wasn’t very helpful in picking wines. Bit of a shame, but still worth checking out and hopefully you get the A team on
Wonderful evening celebrating our Daughter's recent graduation achievement from RMIT.
Quality food and exceptional wine and service is outstanding. Thank you all.
Oysters are oysters....but too expensive here. And the music was way too loud. Service was pushy.
Staff made it a fabulous dining experience. Thanks Marion 😁
Very disappointed this time. I was hosting an American artist who came to perform for Music Week and the service was extremely slow, food average (compared to the many times I've been at Marion), the room was noisy. I wanted to showcase Melbourne's fine cuisine but this was a missed occasion.
Will not visit for a while I think.
