Way too hot, food was good. Service was average
Great atmosphere, friendly waitstaff (though a bit slow), food is always delicious
Amazing food and people!!
Excellent service! Very good food, but the size of portions are a little small, specially the devil eggs - absolutely delicious - but couldn't they give you a whole egg instead of a half? The place looks nice and tables are comfortable but it is so loud because of its location near busy streets with construction.
The pancakes with smoked butter, maple syrup, and crumbled bacon was one of the most inspired and perfectly executed brunch dishes I have eaten in more than 50 years of dining out.
The meats were good, however, the other menu item (including salads and appetizer) were less satisfying. Service was uneven with used plates left on our table for long periods.
I enjoyed my experience at Marlowe and will be returning. I ate 3 appetizers, and ironically, the one I looked forward to the most was the one I like the least; the toasted pistachios. The brussel sprout leaves and the tempura fried green beans were excellent. My dining companions ate salads as their entree and I ordered the pork chop. The pork chop was a nice cut of meat but a little over cooked and dry. We shared a dessert; a very good peanut butter chocolate chunk concoction. The wine and bar selection was varied and well priced. Our service was good but the seating is a bit tight.
Noise level made it impossible to hear across the table.
Visited while on vacation. Cool ambiance and very attentive wait staff. Started with the toasted pistachios, tempura green beans and baked oysters. All very good but tempura green beans stood out for being unique and light. Shared the pork chop and polenta for the main course. Pork chop was cooked well with a great char and the fava bean/corn salad served with it was unreal. Large portion as well. Also really enjoyed the polenta.
Had a really great meal for my wife’s birthday. The corn soup appetizer was fantastic, as was the burger. I also had the putter cocktail, which I enjoyed.
Great decor, solid food - you won’t be disappointed.
Loved our dinner at Marlowe! We sat in the courtyard which was both cooler (on a bit of a warmer day!) and easier for chatting. The burrata with peas was so delicious, the crispy Brussels sprouts chips were so addictive and the polenta was creamy and earthy with delicious mushrooms. Great wine list and cocktail selection. Highly recommend!!
Giants game at 6:05, the table next to us was seated 20 minutes after us but got their food first and they probably made the game on time, we did not, kind of annoying. Our very polite and helpful waitress just seemed to vanish for half of our meal. But the food we got was fantastic! The sweet and salty pistachios were delicious with the drinks. And that was one of the best cheeseburgers I’ve ever had (the best cheeseburger ever was at Windows on the World in New York, but you can’t get those anymore). The garlic fries at Marlowe were much better than the ones at the ballpark that everyone raves about. Excellent drinks, great wine. I’ll be back.
The bathrooms were dirty. The food was good. But the tables were foo close and the person getting into the table next to mine hit my glass of water. The fried chicken tasted a little fishy.
Great food, delivered promptly. A bit loud due to ambient noise. Music level was OK.
We had simple food — a salad and a hamburger — but they were well-prepared and served promptly. The place had a bit of a cafeteria atmosphere though; all the tables were in neat rows and the noise level was so high as to become self-reinforcing: each diner had to raise his voice to be heard by his companions.
Terrific interesting fare. Boisterous, crowded, loud. Worth it.
Second time going there for business purpose. Four of us all ordered the steak salad. The salad is so salty that no one able to finish more than 1/3 of the food.
By the way, we have requested a quiet table during reservation. Unfortunately , it was not noticed and we were put in the middle of the building which is quite noisy.
Menu is limited, but the food is excellent. The room is small and comfortable, but extremely noisy making it very difficult to carry on a conversation at your table. Although slightly pricy, overall its a lovely place to have dinner.
Food was solid, especially the Bites and the Marlowe Burger. Drinks were good, not the watered down rip-offs too often served even in nice restaurants. Service was excellent, attentive without being intrusive and very knowledgeable. The only drawback was the noise level, which for old Forgie’s like us made conversation a bit of a challenge.
Started off my night at Marlowe by encountering an inebriated customer pretending to be the host at the entrance. I was surprised to see the staff sit him and his party without commenting on the joke made in poor taste. When we finally sat down my girlfriend and I immediately noticed how cold it was and realized the front door, which we were sitting near, was wide open. After asking a passing waiter to close it, she brushed off my comment and said that someone just asked her to open it. Fortunately for us, the actual host was more accommodating and sat us at the bar after asking if we could sit somewhere else. The bar ambience and (most importantly) temperature were much better than at our original seats. The bartender serving us was polite but hardly checked on us throughout the night. We ordered the Caesar salad, bone marrow, and the Marlowe burger. The bone marrow was by far the highlight of the night. It had a nice texture and was very flavorful. Sadly, the once famous Marlowe burger which I ate three years ago and left a great impression, was extremely salty and lacked the rich horseradish taste that once gave it it’s uniqueness. Additionally, the horseradish aioli that came with the burger had its flavor masked by saltiness. Not sure what has happened since I was last there in 2016 but my girlfriend and I were pretty disappointed with our experience at Marlowe and will not be coming back in the future.
Anniversary, 10/10 would go again. Every dish we ordered was perfection
One of our office go to’s for a business lunch. Small but varied menu that can take care of both meat eaters and the salad set. Yum!
We had a great time! The service and food were terrific!
The noise level at lunch is LOUD! But the tables are small enough you can here each other. Marlowe had unusual appetizers. Don't miss the fried Brussel Sprouts! They were so good we ordered a second. Also, the fried pistachio nuts are great as well. Enjoy!
Great place for lunch with girlfriends. Good choices for salads and sandwiches. We shared the gem salad which was very attractive with watermelon radish, avocado— summer colors and so tasty-we’d order it again. I came for the signature hamburger which was delicious and another guest had the chicken sandwich which she said was great, too.
Food was excellent as was the service. It was a little bit loud for a business meal, but we managed just fine.
Impressed by the professional table service. Food was delicious but fries were too salty.
Service was excellent. Food and drinks? Excellent. A little pricey, but well worth it. Sorry if my party (I) was acting a fool! Please don't ban us (me).
Fun night, good food, favorite spot that has always been consistent and welcoming.
I was wow-ed! The restaurant is stylish, homey and welcoming ... The food is contemporary and creative ... and comforting, simple and delicious all at the same time. The service was excellent. We can’t wait to go back!
First time there and service was impeccable and the food was terrific. We were seated in the patio and it was fabulous. Definitely worth a revisit.
Too loud, limited menu, food is not healthy and salty.
Really good food and the service was extremely friendly. The only minus is the extremely high noise level.
Great lunch location. Service was terrific...very accommodating. Food was good. I recommend Marlowe
The service was great. The food is good. Both of my friend's and my dishes were very salty. I had the chicken which was kind of dry/overcooked. The restaurant is very noisy but it is a fun place to go.
My goodness...the flavors, decor and music selection was 90s tastic. But the food was crazy amazing...will be back to order the rest of the menu. Food for seafood and meat lovers galore. With sassy cocktails for brunch.
Out of town guests
If it’s a hot summer day like yesterday dress cool. There is NO A/C in the restaurant! We were all dying and sweaty by the end of the meal. Besides that the food and staff were great!
Food was ok, but very small portions and high prices. Was very noisy.
