Fantastic meal and great service. One of our favorite meals in CDMX
Amazingly delicious, superb service, very fresh ingredients. Loved it! We had the degustacion menu, and read the price wrong. Ended up being the most expensive meal I've ever paid for, but thankfully it was a great dining experience!
Fabuloso como siempre, sorprendentemente delicioso !!
Best restaurant in Mexico City
Everything from the service to the meal was wonderful!
Delicious food, great atmosphere and even better price.
Had a nice meal with friends there. Read some rave reviews that set up a great expectation and was kinda like 🤔. Prices higher than $$ rank would indicate and wine list overpriced and not good value.
Portions could be a bit larger but food is fantastic,
Favorite rest in Mexico City. Love all of it
I went there for an anniversary dinner from Miami, USA. Me and my partner thought the food was delicious and beautifully prepared, the service was excellent, and the prices were fair. The atmosphere was enjoyable and we received complimentary champagne coupes to celebrate our occasion. We will return if we ever visit mexico city again.
We loved the Mexican/French take on farm to table. We had lunch there and the food was delicious and we had such a relaxing time sitting outside watching the city unfold.
First off, the food was incredible and so perfect.
I didn’t get the reviews about service till we went. It seems like the space is too small and hectic for the service to be what you expect for this type of restaurant in this city. On the night we went, they were also serving a very large party that cause extreme chaos. We both ordered the tasting menu and half of the time had no idea what we were eating. Dishes were partially explained, but the noise level was so outrageous that it was sometimes impossible to hear. Our neighbors were able to supplement info once their dishes were delivered, a course behind ours. Several times we were delivered incorrect plates and we had to be mindful to reject courses that had already been delivered. One course was delivered incomplete and we weren’t aware until the neighbors were served the same course as it was meant to be consumed.
It was chaos. Our last night after two weeks in Mexico City was supposed to be a lovely date and it was more of a headache.
The other thing that I feel is important to share. We ordered the six course tasting menu with wine pairings. This was delivered within ONE HOUR. Six courses with drink pairings in one hour. Just. No. Never in my life. On more than one occasion there were multiple courses on the table.
This food was good. GOOD. And deserves a much less frantic setting to be appreciated in. There are other fantastic restaurants in CDMX and the experience is nothing like this. Acceptably paced, well staffed, enough space to avoid a crowded and loud dining room. I say this because I want to be clear that I’m not comparing this restaurant to others in Chicago, New York, DC.
I hope they move to a new space.
I would request outside seating if possible to avoid the insanity of the dining room. And truly, for large drunk groups, they should really require the party to book the entire room instead of forcing the few tables not involved to have a botched meal.
This restaurant has no atmosphere and is overrated. The food was mediocre. On Open Table it states French cuisine among other. I have been in France about 300 times, having lived in Europe for 23 years, but the food at Maximo Bistro did not even come close in anything France. My husband and I left after the main course. Sea bass that was as big as my thumb. We had desserts and coffee in an another nicer restaurant and were very disappointed about this one, especially after the hype and having to make reservations 2 months ahead, guaranteeing with a credit card. If you cancel within 48 hours, you will have to pay a fee. I travelled the world and never experienced such a thing in any restaurant. Do not waste your appetite and money. Do NOT go there!
Great food and excellent wine pairings. Nan was a fantastic sommelier.
This is that kind of place that food quality and taste offset any opportunity area the restaurant has; we were 6 people and every single dish was better than the other. It is clear why is so difficult to get a table in this place. Highly recommended!
The food was fine (though rather small portions), but the restaurant overall had a pretentious feeling to it. We wouldn't go back.
We were there just three nights ago yet difficult to remember from far less expensive or "important" restaurants on our trip. In fact, we'd heard it was so amazing we booked for two meals and cancelled one after the first. Yes, it is good, just fine. Just not as important as some make it seem. We met a lovely couple at the next table who drove us home and that was one of the best experiences, so maybe it is a more special place to foster that kind of friendliness.
We were rushed through the first and second courses and had to ask them to wait to bring out our entree. Overall experience was hampered by a sense of urgency. Food is good. Room is charming.
Warmly greeted by the staff, seated immediately and offered the drink list. Dinner was outstanding, the presentation artistic, and service was excellent. Definitely will return when I am next in Mexico City.
Great! Second time as prefect as first
Maximo Bistro es de verdad excelente. La comida y los vinos maravillosos. El servicio impecable. De seguro volveremos y volveremos. Siempre hay algo nuevo y delicioso.
We had a great time and the food was amazing. The service was excelent and great music!
For this restaurant is all about the food ! Perfect for foodies. Fresh ingredients and great presentation I had an onion oven appetizer with melted cheese it was a combination of an onion French soup and a queso fundido. So Good. Then I had a risotto and was just cook perfect. If you are looking for traditional Mexican food this is not the place but for me the fusion with French and Mexican was just perfect.
The restaurant is small and is located in the trendy neighborhood of Roma. Ask to sit outside if is a nice night.
Truthfully, I thought the portions very small, considering the cost, although delicious.
After hearing about Maximo Bistrot for years, I knew I needed to try it. I expected our meal to be good, and it was. Everything we were served was delicious. I also expected it to be expensive, and it was that as well. I have eaten some fantastic meals in Mexico and I always came away feeling that even the most expensive ones were a good value. I didn’t feel the same way here as I honestly think it’s overpriced.
The restaurant was really noisy, and it’s not necessarily their fault. The people at the table next to us were so ridiculously loud (we were outside) my husband and I could not even have a conversation, which definitely prevented us from totally enjoying a beautiful, elegantly served meal.
Sadly this restaurant did not live up to the hype. The service was disinterested and disorganized, and the food was only okay. Not worth the relatively high prices. I honestly don't see what the buzz is all about. I would skip this place and instead go to Quintonil or Pujol.
Perfect. Can’t find anything negative to say.
Sat outside on a beautiful night. Service was very good and the food was awesome. Definitely a great place for a great evening
