There was no one at counter to seat us. Long wait for waiter. Disorganized. The original Mei's Corner was closed which is where we wanted to eat.
A bit confusing to start as the Chinese restaurant has been combined with the pizza place. Food was nice enough and not too overpriced.
Great food and service but not so great environment. Smelled musty and seems to need an update.
The server got two of three orders wrong. However, once corrected, the meals were good.
Delicious food, very reasonably priced for the neighborhood.
Absolutely wonderful. Have been going there for years
Very good! Would eat there again and didn't need a reservation. Connected to the hotel. Interesting menu and a helpful staff. The guy who waited on us was great and really wanted to please. It was a nice lunch spot!
Food was very mediocre and chef wouldn’t add any veggies to my chicken dish. The chicken was rubbery and the dish was flavorless.
Awful. Server was curt and not friendly. My friend and I ordered the short rib noodle soup. It was a huge portion - but it was basically a pound of spaghetti in a spicy tomato broth with some over- cooked unseasoned beef. And very expensive at that. The atmosphere in the hotel lobby was cool, but the restaurant was nothing special. With the options for Chinese food in this city, I won't be back.
Always great. Friendly great neighborhood find. Quite on Saturday
Although the restaurant was not busy people are missing out on a terrific Chinese dinner. We definitely would go back again!
Only one server and the wait was long and frustrating. We have been here before and the service is generally all right. The food is quite good. Never disappointed. To be fair, the manager discounted our drinks, which was appreciated. But there needs to be someone to receive customers, seat them and help with another server to wait on tables.
Wonderful meal, great service.
Stopped in for dinner. The food was simple and good. Service was adequate.
The food was good but the temperature of the food could have been warmer. The service was a bit slow.
We were one of only two tables seated on a Friday.
Even so, service was terrible. My soup and entree came out with our appetizer a full 10 minutes before my wife’s and daughters entrees arrived.
My lemon chicken had a texture unlike any chicken I’ve ever experienced. Other dishes were bland but ok.
Waited at least 20 minutes for waters to be refilled partially because our waitress would disappear into the kitchen leaving no one in the dining room. When she did finally ask if we’d like our empty glasses refilled it still took another 5 minutes for her to get around to it.
This was our first time as we had not heard of Mei’s until recently. The Szechuan food was delicious and the server was very efficient. Overall, a good experience and we look forward to a return visit.
The food at Mei's Corner is consistently fresh and delicious. I am always surprised that it is not more crowded, given its location on Delaware just west of Michigan Avenue. There is Taiwanese influence on Chinese cuisine. Whether you go alone or share with one or more friends, there is something to enjoy. Prices are very reasonable, given the quality of ingredients and preparation.
Overall, terrible. There was a couple with a cranky child seated next to us. UGH!! On Christmas night. My worst nigh mare. We went there for a quiet evening. NOT!!!
One of our meals was hot the other was cold. Would not re commend this place to anyone.
It is very small, noisy and understaffed.
How can service at a place so empty be so slow? Wait staff was inattentive. Tea out of a bag. Wonton soup without broth. I won’t go back.
Not great. The waitress really wanted to be anywhere but there
The Honey Walnut Shrimp is terrific. Lunch menu is very good and affordable. Not many good Asian restaurants in the area so this is a great pick.
What a wonderful hidden gem. My husband and I arrived after the evening rush and the restaurant was completely empty - we thought maybe this was a bad omen. I am so glad we stayed. Everything was absolutely delicious and so appealing to the eye. This was the first time we had General Tso Chicken that wasn't 90% breading. It was lightly spicy and so tender in a sauce that made you want to lick the plate. The Shrimp Egg Foo Young was light and flavorful with just the right amount of gravy. We also had beef fried rice which was equally delicious. The restaurant is very cozy and the service was beyond all of our expectations. When I return to Chicago it will be the first place I visit instead of the last.
Had a great meal Food was tasty and well prepared, cut above many Chinese restaurants in the area.
The best thing at Mei s was the very friendly server. Really nice and helpful. We missed him the next day when we came back for dinner again.
