Great tasting and interesting food; servers became a bit overwhelmed toward the end of the meal, so while we were ready for baklava, by the time we were checked on at the end of our meal, we had been sitting too long to order dessert, unfortunately.
A great combination of Turkish dishes - everything was delicious. As a group of 8, we ordered both appetizers and main dishes to share, which made for a great experience. Recommend highly..
Excellent food and service
I love the vivid feel of the street, which is closed for cars, and you can dine outside. The food was ok but I remembered it as better from former expericene, but I probably will return to try more dishes.
Amazing all the food was delicious
I don’t say this lightly, but this was the best Turkish meal I‘ve ever had in the US (and maybe the best I’ve had ever, including Turkey since the meat ingredients here generally are better than in Turkey). We’ve had meals in Turkish restaurants in New York City, Washington, DC, the West Coast and, of course, Turkey. I can think of only one restaurant in Turkey that we liked as much. The waitstaff are pleasant and helpful. We ate outside, so I can’t comment on the ambience inside. There were portable propane heaters to take the chill off the evening air. We paid $320 for dinner for 4 (2 appetizers and 4 main courses), including wine, tax and tip. The wines by the glass are too expensive, so just go for one of the full bottles, which are reasonably priced.
seating was not up to the standard as other restaurants in the area given their pricing. thought outside seating was nice however it wasnt lit and was dark
service was very bad. no waiters, no servers. seems like only the owner and 2 ladies were up in front. and the ladies were dressed very very casual as if they were inside their home. if the place is charging quite much for their dinner place (ex 1 skewer of beef mean with some vegetables was $32)-not even a side of rice came with it or a house salad.
then least the place can do is ensure their servers are dressed in a pleasant way at least
we had to ask 3 times for our tea and dessert. it was a friday evening and they should have had more servers around
I rarely complain about service, but it was pretty disapopinting. Server walked off after only taking 3/4 drink orders. Asked multiple servers for box & bill and finally got them after 3 attempts.
Food was good but not great. Dishdash down the street sets a really high standard for the area, as does nearby Kabul.
The food is absolutely amazing! Very authentic Turkish food. Have traveled in Turkey and I was so very impressed y the meal we had. Will definitely be back again!
Delicious food and great service! Highly recommend the octopus.
Had a great time. Great service. Delicious food.
The service shines at Meyhouse. Very attentive staff. Servers were sweet and gracious. Almost felt like home. Met my new Turkish neighbor, Mahmut, who told me about this awesome restaurant owned by his former boss. We went the same day and he was right. Best Turkish food around! Can’t wait to try them after they move to Palo Alto.
Service was exceptional. Food was pretty good too. Unfortunately the seating outdoors reduced the beauty of the ambience a bit …
Would like to go back when indoor dining opens up here.
Meyhouse is a Turkish restaurant with a nice outdoor seating area. The service is polite and the food is tasty. The prices are a bit high, but the quality of the food is worth it.
Best food on Murphy Street! Everything is prepared with care and love, which showcases the quality of ingredients used. Be sure to eat the fresh bread and try the Turkish and Armenian wines on offer.
Love this place Great food and great service
Exceptionally delicious Turkish food, and a very pleasant ambiance. Service was very good too. We’ve always had fun and warm memories with our friends here.
Delicious food, and great service. Currently is dine out only due to covid, so the ambiance is different and not as cozy and warm as usual . Highly recommend it
Meyhouse offers authentic Turkish cuisine in a very friendly environment. The quality of the food is even better than many restaurants in Turkey. The owner brings in original ingredients and cooks delicious dishes that you cannot find anywhere else.
As a Turkish American, I was so used to seeing so called other Turkish restaurants to deliver generic Mediterranean dishes, finding Meyhouse was a pleasant surprise. Here you can taste the smoky kebabs, juicy grilled fish, amazing desserts, and famous olive oil appetizers of Turkish cuisine. Highly recommended.
The food was good (not fantastic). My husband needed some sauce to add to his flavorless food but the waitresses were very busy with other tables that did not even look at us. Although One of them did come when we were done with our food and asked if we need anything but it was late.
Although we were disappointed that some items we were looking for ( lahmacun and Adana kebap) were missing that evening, the mezes we had (artichoke and eggplant) were good. The kebap meat was cooked very well, but the plates could have been better with some pilav, or a few potatoes, or some greens. Still the one of best of Bay Area Turkish restaurants.
Creative Mediterranean cuisine from various regions in Turkey
Wonderful warm hospitality and very delicious food!!
We had a wonderful dinner at Meyhouse. We ordered the tasting menu and everything was delicious. There was so much food. They kept bringing out more dishes, saying we just want you to taste this also. We have eaten here several times, but this was the first time with the tasting menu. We've always enjoyed our meals at Meyhouse - but this was truly outstanding and memorable.
Best Turkish food in US. Highly recommend it. Mezes are delicately prepared and using highest quality ingredients.
Fantastic food. You would not regret
Excellent Turkish food (to a newbie), served on a closed street in Sunnyvale reminiscent of a street in Europe. Would happily return.
Chef sampler was underwhelming in variety. flavor etc. Just three types of kabob meats thrown on a plate.
Over the years food has been great but service has been inconsistent. I chalk this up to being a young restaurant. This last time was perfect. We brought friends and this is now their favorite restaurant. I highly recommend Meyhouse. Love it!
Excellent food quality and exceptional service even in this current limited environment. Corai and his team are phenomenal. Thank you!
Really slow.service. The eggplant dish wasway over.roasted. The wait staff pretty much ignored us. The sea bass was good, the beef was good too. Terrible ambiance.
Great food, very authentic Turkish cuisine, friendly service. The warm fresh bread serviced before the ordered food was the best we've tried in a quite a while!
Meyhouse has opened where Taverna Bistro used to be. Decor is still the same, though at this time, all seating is outdoor only. Since Murphy Ave is closed to traffic, there is plenty of al fresco dining, creating a festive atmosphere.
They setup a table for us on the side, which was good as it was away from others. They had white tablecloths and napkins, that feels an upgrade over sidewalk dining. Service was very friendly, though at times a bit inattentive.
For drinks, we ordered a Cosmo and a Gin/Basil/Cucumber cocktail, both of which were very good.
We ordered a few mezes: Girit Meze cheese with pistachio and Muhammara walnut-pepper paste with pomegranate molasses were excellent to eat with the warm bread they served. On request, they also brought us thin lavash bread (almost like a tortilla). Artichoke and Fava (Zeytinyagli Ic Baklali Enginar) was also very unique and flavorful. Finally, the shrimp baked with mozzarella was unusual but also enjoyable.
By this time, we were quite full, so we just ordered some chicken kebab (Harbiye tavuk) which was very juicy. Portion was a bit small, but it was just right for us. We topped this off with Kunefe dessert and Turkish Coffee.
A good meal, friendly service, festive outdoor dining. We will certainly be back!
The best Turkish restaurant in the SF Bay Area so far.
Broad selection, tasty execution, and friendly service. We would not have known that this family-owned gem even existed if it weren't for an expiring OpenTable Dining Reward.
The dine-in menu is much longer than on the website, which somewhat misleadingly only shows the pickup/delivery options. There is a broad selection of appetizers that can be sampled using a 4-for-2 or (I believe) 6-for-4 formula with smaller portions--don't be afraid to ask for recommendations, ours turned out fabulous. The doner & yogurtlu kebabs we had as main courses were awesome, with the meat chunks of the yogurtlu literally melting in the mouth. Seasoning was well balanced, flavorful but not overpowering, slightly garlicky, like other middle-eastern dishes & cuisines. We rounded out the meal with a bottle of very nice Turkish wine, recommended by the owner. We finished off with ice cream & tea, served traditionally in tiny glasses filled almost to the brim.
On Saturday evening the entire block of Murphy Ave. was blocked off with tables from all the restaurant spread sparsely to comply with pandemic regulations. Look for the large sign TAVERNA Bistro up on the wall (probably remnant of previous business at this location).
Excellant restaurant in Sunnyvale! I have had the pleasure of dining at Meyhouse a couple of times and have been really amazed at the wonderful dishes they offer. I can't wait to try every dish!
Amazing!!! Food, staff, ambiance...
Servers not too attentive but they were friendly, though.
An absolutely fantastic night out with my team from work. Everyone raved about the food (we had Little Little in the Middle shared plates), and just as importantly the wonderful service and how they were all made to feel so at home! Could not have been better!
