Mezze Bistro + Bar
Mezze is a lovely, welcoming experience that starts with the host and continues with the servers and the food and drink. The server was helpful without being overbearing, and had great suggestions. The food is superb. We had a lovely fennel and celery salad to start and a spectacular branzino entree and the pappardelle with ragu-- very elegant comfort food. They even had a lactose-friendly dessert. The setting is warm and refined. All in all, a terrific experience.
Every dish we ordered was so flavorful, fresh and unique! One of the best meals we’ve had in the Berkshires. Looking forward to returning soon!
My husband and I went to dinner , we made reservations ahead of time online which made it really easy. Dinner was great, the starters were amazing and although we were stuffed after dinner we couldn’t pass up trying some dessert.. everything sounded so good. Can’t wait to go back again!!
Very good food well prepared. Several atypical ingredients nicely incorporated. Disappointed in lack of small salad option of some type. In an age when many high quality restaurants offer desserts that are easily shared, the dessert we ordered, delicious , was of small proportion.
Food was good, their special menu to celebrate Lunar New Year was fun. Our server wasn't on their best night, a little short with their mood.
Farro salad, fried oysters, and bistro steak were all excellent. Service was attentive, friendly but not intrusive. I look forward to returning!
We had a lovely meal and excellent service. I judge an interesting meal by whether the quality and preparation greatly exceeds what I can prepare at home....and this certainly did! I look forward to coming back when I'm in Williamstown again.
Great service, great food. Love coming here!
We went to Mezze with our two sons, ages 10 and 12, to celebrate my husband’s birthday. We have been many times - and knew we would feel well cared for and eat great food. There was something on the menu for everyone - all done exceptionally well. We have been to many of the nice Berkshire restaurants and feel the service at Mezze is far and away the best.
This was our second visit to Mezze. We were hoping for the same great service experience we received during our first visit in mid October. We were excited to share our Mezze experience with our good friends from Westchester who were visiting us to celebrate New Year's eve, an annual tradition for us. Our table which was located outside the main dining room/bar area and near the main entrance wouldn't have been our first choice. We sat for a long while for our drink/food order. The hostess quickly corrected the situation after we commented that people seated after us were already being served. She offered us a complimentary bottle of wine, which was appreciated. We hope to return with an expectation that service will be greatly improved.
Excellent meal, including some of the best oysters I’ve had in a while. The wait staff and reception staff were responsive and polite, as always. Thank you.
Four of us (my wife and I, two adult daughters) had a very nice experience. The spiced popcorn appetizer was fun, and the small plate selection, though limited, was good. I had excellent potato and leek soup (the add-ins of creme fraiche and crunchy croutons and bacon made this special), and heritage pork meatballs (good, but no special attributes). Both my daughters had pasta 'cacio e pepe', which was also good though not quite like the Roman original (we were a bit baffled by the broth in the bottom of the bowl). One had a very fresh and tasty salad, the other enjoyed her single smash burger. My wife had very good salmon. Interesting and tasty food, good service, nice lively atmosphere - we'd go back and further explore this interesting menu.
Food and service always excellent. The best restaurant in Williamstown without question.
Generally a 4 star place: The food is great here, well prepared and balanced in flavor and presentation. Also, generally, the best higher end food you'll find in these parts. Some small criticisms, because that's why we're here: I find the menu slightly brief and slightly limited. We tire of seeing so much pork on a menu and multiple chicken dishes. why not lamb? why not some other poultry? this is not to say what's here isn't strong, but this is a porky menu.
another small criticism: Unless the intent is to make it so that the diners literally share each other's conversations, the tables in the center of the room are too close to one another. I went here on a date with my wife, not on a double date with the table next to me. the party next to us was a couple who's conversation consisted mostly of the woman nagging the man. So it was a bit like eating a delicious meal in a room with a nag who you didn't invite to dinner.
The staff is uniformly strong, pleasant and warm. The Mezze team does staffing well, and you can tell. there are ample staff, they're clearly all on a team, and they all seem to be on the ball as it were. Our waiter was warm and friendly and knowledgeable, the back waiter was johnny on the spot with the food.
We really love the lighter fare menu. The Okie burger and fries were near perfect. That's a great burger. we had a dozen oysters as well (as a special at $1 each, you can't go wrong) which were also great, though the citrus accompaniment could use a refresher. We also enjoyed the Mushroom Ragout. Rarely is polenta so delicious, and the parsnip puree coupled with the mushrooms were delightful together.
Finally, dessert was also really strong, if imperfect. I had the chocolate pot du creme, which was overcooked but delicious anyhow. A pot du creme should be creamy, mine was more like clay in consistency. It was delicious however, with a very nice done combo of hot pepper and good chocolate.
Outstanding restaurant! A few more vegetarian options would be nice, but it was a great experience overall.
Very attentive server who responded well to our small group. Food was extremely good; however, a bit pricey. Very comfortable environment. All staff very welcoming. A very good dining experience.
We had an amazing dinner. We’re regulars and everything on the menu is special. Great staff. Save room for carrot cake!
Great bread and salad. Over cooked pasta.
Good food full house
Great place delicious food!
We love Mezze and have been going there a couple of times a year for fifteen years. The drinks are well prepared and tasty. The food can be spectacular but also not very good. One takes one’s chances. I had a baked whole fish that was greasy, scorched and inedible a year or so ago. The roasted chicken last night was perfect. The pasta that is always on the menu is too large a portion and ranges from scrumptious to cold and bad. Mezze is uneven but is a sparkling place decor-wise and worth your time and money when you are in Williamstown.
Delicious but could have used less salt in everything.
Lovely place. Always a favorite in the Berkshires.
We came to visit a friend who lives in Williamstown. It was perfectly located (3 minutes from where we’re were staying, the food and drinks were lovingly prepared. Friendly staff. We’ll definitely be back!
We really enjoyed this place. It's setting was very nice and once we were seated we were very comfortable in one of their dining rooms. The food was delicious. For entrees we had the Garganelli and the market fish which was halibut and found them both well prepared and mouthwatering. We plan to return.
We had the most amazing meal at Mezze this Saturday night. The room is beautiful, the service was perfect and the food was delicious. I can't wait to return!
Delicious, creatively prepared and healthy fare with a focus on local meats and veggies. Beautiful spot with gorgeous views out the windows, if you arrive before dark.
Lovely restaurant with great food prepared creatively. Attentive service. Always a favorite of ours in the Berkshires.
Quality of food was excellent but just a little salty for our recommended diet. We wish we had asked for no extra salt but forgot. We loved the kale Caesar too.
Excellent food, fantastic service. I truly enjoyed everything and would definitely recommend Mezze Bistro to all.
Loved Mezze, fabulous food and service in a lovely atmosphere. Very unusual and adventurous selections but exciting to try new flavors.
Food was delicious, creative, and well prepared. The room was a bit loud. Staff members were pleasant, but the service was WAY too slow. It took two and a half hours for two of us to be served a three-course meal. I would only recommend this restaurant with that caution.
I have never been disappointed at this wonderful restaurant. The cuisine is always inventive. For an appetizer, I had house-cured sardines served with very thin slices of (I think) turnips that tasted like mild radish. It was delicious. The fish dish, pollack, was also superb, a really unexpected treat. Desert was a bit of a disappointment -- the local strawberry ice cream was partially crystallized -- but all in all, this was a wonderful dining experience, certainly my go-to place in Williamstown and the environs.
Sublime food...flavors...preparation. Salads are unique as were many entrees ...
Love the experience and meal so much went back again tonight! Fantastic food and friendly staff! A must when you are in Williamstown.
We loved everything about this restaurant! Plan on going again!
We had a great dinner at Mezze - the service, food, and atmosphere were all perfect. The tomato soup appetizer and the butterscotch pot de creme dessert were especially delicious.
Very accommodating for celuac/gluten free diet.
Wine was expensive and no Pinot Grigio. Menu is limited, but we had three different things from the main course list and everyone loved what they’d ordered!
Not very special anything But the chef was very helpful in making a dish without onion or garlic
