Michael Jordan's Restaurant - Oak Brook
Awesome kid friendly restaurant, great food, welcoming ambiance & great service!
Ambiance was nice but husband ordered medium lamp chops- they came out well done and dry. Our daughter’s steak was supposed to be well done- came out medium and very red (she’s only 4). Lemon herb chicken was dry and hard in some spots and my banana pudding bread came out cold- was told it’ll be warm.
Took my husband for Father's Day. The restaurant was busy but very orderly. The father's day specials were really good as well. We had a new server who was trying to find her way but she didn't make a lot of mistakes that couldn't be corrected. This was my 4th time back to this one. I really enjoy this location better than the one in the loop.
The service was amazing. At no time were we rushed and yet when we needed something our server was always close by. The food was very good although a bit expensive. The atmosphere was very nice and the place was immaculate.
Our son moving on to the 1st grade
Always great service and delicious food
Excellent server. Had the garlic bread with blue cheese fondue, bacon and Delmonico steaks for our anniversary. All amazing and cooked to perfection. We had a side of Mac and cheese that was soooo cheesy and so delectable. Also had brocolini - very tasty! They served us a special desert. We will be back.
Great food. Great ambience. Great service. Will come back
I would not go to this restaurant again. Extremely expensive for small portions.
My scallops were over cooked, and everything was a la carte and way over priced. They gave us free garlic bread that was at a minimum baked at 8:00am and stale. Was so very disappointed. Slow service, warm tap water, not a good experience.
Nice atmosphere, good food, good service - music was a bit loud
Had dinner at the bar. Started with the Triangle Offense, that was way more than two people could handle, but we did our best and brought the rest home. It's fantastic! The Crab cakes are just about pure crab. The sauce with the garlic bread is sinfully delicious. I had the Sea Bass and my husband had the Wagyu beef. My Sea Bass was very good and my husband enjoyed the Wagyu Beef. Thought it was good but had more gristle than expected. He wanted to try it, but feels their other steaks are better, surprisingly. Brought home the massive slice of Chocolate cake! Always enjoy Michael Jordans. Great food and service all around. Bartenders are great. One of our favorite restaurants in the area.
Terrible service! Rushed though dinner even though there was no wait and plenty of open tables when we left. Will NEVER go back.
Like white tablecloths sorry! Food was very good especially the crab cake ! Great place for lunch.
Overrated, will not return.
Great food! Customer service could be better, over good experience.
Service was poor with no excuse for a slow Monday night. Had reservations and they still need to set up the table for 5. Took a long time to get in drink orders and even longer for the dinner orders. Everything is a la cart. Wine was excellent but expensive. Food was not hot when it was served.
The food was great however the waitress never came back and asked if we would like another drink . My boyfriend and I came there for his birthday dinner and to be honest we were disappointed .
Ambience is great, kind of reminds me of
Morton’s. Service was terrific as were the cocktails, their featured garlic bread and the dessert was phenomenal.
Unfortunately the entree was quite pedestrian which was a shame given how great everything else was
Celebrated my nieces 18th birthday! We had a great time
Over all it was an enjoyable evening. There was a large group next to us celebrating a birthday. When the group left a waitress who was not serving our table came by us and complained about how loud the group had been and how long they had been there. I felt this was unprofessional and not called for.
My fiancé and I were really excited about trying this restaurant for our anniversary, but most of our food was a little to salty, starting with the calamari, mashed potato, sauté spinach, French fries.
Celebrating my wedding anniversary and from the moment we walked in we were greeted by host and sat right away. The waitress was awesome and made a few recommendations on wine and food. Everything was great. My husband and I had a great experience and would definitely go back, we will definitely be requesting Argelia to be our server.
The presentation and quality of food are average. Not what I expected with such a big name.
They should’ve had an omelette station at the buffet
Value for brunch not as good as competitors near by. A bit disorganized as to how the brunch buffet is presented. For the premium price they should do an omelette station or something made to order.
Deana was a friendly, knowledgeable and attentive server.
Food was pretty good, but terribly overpriced. We sat at the bar, and bartender was our waiter. He worked hard, but there was no way for him to adequately cover the bar area and also make drinks.
Saturday lunch with gal pals, relaxed yet attentive service, delicious spring rolls and fresh salads. Will go back often!
Best steak I have ever had!
The Yelp rating was very low. I guess that the great thing about Yelp. We use it as a guideline and be honest and rate our experience individually. As for me MJ has been a been one of more sports idols although I'm not a huge sport now now. So I book this place on Open Table and adjust the schedule several times with no issues, when I get there I know why. It's a Thursday night so less traffic and I think it's newish to the area. There's some really great places very close by so the place wasn't very busy. All of that to say my experience was excellent through and through. One of the nicest filets I've had prepared perfectly. My only criticism the peppercorns over powered the bourbon, but still tasted excellent . The apps were excellent, I mean what's not to like about bacon that's tender and full of flavor m. How about garlic bread with blue poured over it. Excellent sides better creamed spinach than most places. And the gelato was worth the trip. The thing that I would never want to take advantage of but just shows you how these guys are. They close pretty early at 9 and there was people in the restaurant until 10:30 and they didn't say a word. I was talking and catching up with my friend that I haven't seen in over 10 years and lost track of time. The manager was extremely kind and was just hanging out and waiting and never said a harsh word.
And that my friends is what a great evening and experience is about!!!
Fantastic experience. Came here for anniversary dinner and was not disappointed. Not too big, nice seating, and cool vibe. Ordered the garlic bread with bleu cheese fondue sauce to start which is one of our favorites from the downtown MJ steakhouse location. Ordered the steaksmanship series to share for entree. Amazing! 3 very nice cuts cooked to perfection with a great selection of salts and sauces to pair. Definitely a lot of food for 2 people, might be more comfortable to share as 4. Topped the night off with the famous 23 layer chocolate cake. Our server was fantastic, very personable and attentive. Will 100% be back.
The food wasn’t as good as expected. It was super loud as well.
Great birthday dinner I would definitely go back again.
Took my 4 grandsons to dinner. Appreciated that there was a children’s menu available to the youngest who was 5. Boys enjoyed the steak they ordered. I ordered the chicken parmigiana which was slightly overlooked and little burned. Calamari was excellent—boys gobbled it up so quickly we had to order another. Would have enjoyed seeing more MJ memorabilia other than photos. Our server (Tom) was very accommodating and patient with the boys, one of whom spilled his drink. Tom told him not to worry and quickly made things right. Lovely interior.
great place for a birthday. They really made it special! Interesting menu, an upscale take on basic flavors. I had the white fish, which is basically the same dish as one I had at Wildfire a few weeks ago, and it was better here, no question. My son had the pork which was perfectly done. Garlic bread definitely worth the carbs and calories.
Cheeseburgers are the best ever! We also had the nicest waiter named Edgar. Ask for him!
Just not that good and way overpriced.
The food was mediocre and the ambiance underwhelming. The server was good (not great.). I will not be coming back, I’ll be heading to Gibson’s across the street where it’s always top notch.
Overall good. But....if your going to serve “good” wine please have the appropriate glass for the wine type. It would make the experience that much better.
Sides are barely enough for 2.
