Outstanding and exceeded our expectations. Fine dining at the Chase! We celebrated our 29th Anniversary. We sat in the private dining area which was perfect as we brought our son. The food and wine from start to finish was amazing.
We shared everything. We started with the Caesar salad which was prepared table side. It was the best Caesar ever! Then for dinner, we had the tender NY Strip and the soul satisfying chicken pot pie. Paired which the creamed kale and brussel sprout hash, it was such a special meal. Of course, we ended our meal with the chocolate cake and apple tart. We were full from the 1st course, but we had to enjoy everything.
Looking forward to returning soon!
Wonderful service and amazing food!
Beautiful room. Excellent staff and food
The food, drinks, ambiance, service were all amazing 🤩
There are many problems with this restaurant.
1) seating is awkward and very uncomfortable. a - One foot is flat on the floor while the other has to be on top of a sloped table base. b - for two, you’re practically sitting with strangers less than two feet from you. Very odd.
2) service: a - the timing of drinks coming to the table was uncoordinated. I received my glass of wine 30 mins before my date received her cocktail. b - it took the first hour before we received our first appetizer. It was shrimp cocktail so it’s odd it took that long to prepare. And it was another 30 mins before we got our table side Cesar. One server dropped a Cesar on the floor and they didn’t do a great job cleaning it up as a young lady unknowingly slipped and feel. No staff helped or even acknowledged that they should’ve done a better job cleaning up the dropped Cesar which I’m sure the olive oil is was caused the slippery floor. And another server dropped the dessert glass top with glass splattering everywhere. The staff seemed so disorganized. Clearly you need better management oversight.
3) food. Well, I had read many of the previous reviews and wanted to try for myself. BELIEVE WHAT REVIEWERS ARE SAYING. The $145 tomahawk was bland and swimming in grease from the bone marrow. I’m not sure why anyone thinks that’s a good idea but it had zero flavor (I ordered medium rare) and the sauce they give with it didn’t help. There were some good eats though…the French fries were delicious and the lime tart for dessert was to die for. But s $500 tab and only the French fries and dessert were good is not a good experience.
4) $50 for valet. :-)
5) there is no way in hell I’d return to this restaurant
location just great and environment along with the service was excellent. Solid menu, maybe a bit pricey but not prohibitive. Enjoyed it.
You go there for a steak you don’t need it in a broth. We were never told her we gonna get a steak in a broth
The filet mignon was so delectable! It was juicy and buttery!
Amazing food. Tyler Florence even came out and finished our fish table side himself. Wonderful experience.
My hubby and I dined here for the first time tonight and the experience was great. The service was great and the food was excellent. I appreciated how Chef Tyler stopped by our table to say hello and check in. The Caesar salad prepared table side was so fresh and delicious. My husband said it was the best Caesar salad he has ever eaten. The cocktails were so good as well. I loved the champagne and whiskey carts that were brought around...and the dessert selections. I ordered the filet and my love ordered the New York strip. I love the relaxed atmosphere and it was so nice to not feel rushed. This is our new spot for fine dining in the city. I love living in SF and having access to such great restaurant options.
Chef Tyler Florence came to personally check on us. Wonderful food, great staff! Loved it.
When I go to a high end steak house I expect one thing that is a must that they should get right. The temperature of the steak. I asked for medium rare and I even told the waitress I like it red throughout. Not her fault since she doesn’t prepare the food. The meat arrived and it was medium/medium +. She agreed and replaced it with a perfectly hot (first was lukewarm) steak. Now I have a piping hot steak and cold sides to accompany it. The overall experience was not worth the price. It was a disappointment for my first time there.
I ordered an old fashion. I even asked the waitress if they muddle the fruit. When she brought me a drink it was in a martini glass. I told her, this is the first time I’ve ever had an old fashion in a martini glass. No response from her. I tasted it. Not an old fashion. Instead she brought me a Manhattan.
The restaurant is in a great location and has a nice ambiance. The highlight was seeing Tyler.
One of the most memorable meals ever! Starting with the best oysters you will ever eat. Tyler prepared our table side caesar and our dover sole. He is very engaging. Our tomahawk ribeye, side dishes and spectacular deserts. I could go on and on.
It was a wonderful dining experience.
A wonderful fine dining experience. Staff was very attentive and the food was wonderful. A special occasion spot.
Great experience. Loved the personal touch chef Tyler Florence brings by stopping by the tables.
Exciting dining experience in a beautiful space! After an exciting Warriors game, arrived at Miller & Lux for dinner. Place was slammed (with other fans) and yet the staff was calm, friendly and efficient. We were seated quickly and while some things came out slowly - the staff was attentive, gave frequent updates and with the active dining room - waiting never felt boring or dull. What a great dining experience to watch carts pass by - a champagne cart, a Caesar salad cart (made to order at the table), flambe table side, a dessert cart (gorgeous desserts) and an after-dinner drinks cart (scotch, whiskey!) Just too much fun!! And of course, the chef himself, Tyler Florence, floating around the dining room - greeting guests, making salads and insuring an entertaining, one-of-a-kind dining experience. This place is worth a visit - and while not cheap - you can see the quality in the food, the service and the setting. Truly worth a visit!
Disappointing steak… very expensive dinner.
Our son had a great birthday experience and the view was awesome. I enjoyed how our waiter engaged with our son. Very cool.
However, although our waiter was very nice, he was having a hard time giving us timely service given his other tables.
The “deconstructed” French onion soup was odd. Our waiter should have probably explained that it wasn’t like the traditional soup. It tasted ok for what it was. But we wanted soup, not French onion “pudding” with a disk of fryer soufflé. Maybe the menu is domaines it and we were expected to read more carefully?
We asked for a medium rear porterhouse (after asking how the chef recommended) and it arrived rare. The steak was delicious just not the temperature we requested. When our waiter asked about the temperature I explained it was rarer than we expected but that it still tasted good.
My second glass of wine arrived after the steak was already eaten despite ordering soon after the dinner arrived. The wine service was uneven.
We asked for 2 cappuccinos with dessert but our waiter didn’t register that request so we never got them. They weren’t on the final bill so it was an oversight.
We asked for a doggie bag when asked by the bus staff if we wanted one. It was never communicated to us that the doggie bag would be available at the coat check. The doggie bag was waiting for us at the coat check but I was unsure of the process since typically a bag is brought to the table.
I’d love to come back if the above is addressed, but it’s Hard to recommend the restaurant after last night’s experience given the disconnect between high price and medium value.
Absolutely amazing! Food was delicious and service was impeccable
We went to celebrate a birthday, expecting a high end experience at a high end, expensive, special occasion restaurant. What we experienced was the opposite.
From the moment we sat down at the bar before our meal we were ignored (odd since we were the only customers there). We sat for 10 minutes watching the sole bartender do a drink tasting for a staff member (a manager?), in which he was spitting the drinks back into a glass (disgusting); at the very least this could have been outside of peak service hours. Eventually a second bartender arrived and he was pleasant, but unfortunately this beginning set for the tone for the evening.
Once seated at our table the service was spotty and inattentive at best, and our food (once it arrived after a wait) was mediocre, under-seasoned, and our $150 tomahawk ribeye was somehow charred, raw, and served cold. I have literally never once sent food back in my life until this meal. It was so disappointing that this special occasion and very expensive outing was so poorly executed.
Giving the benefit of the doubt, staffing issues may have played a role, and of course there must be immense stress at this time. Our server —who was kind but obviously overstretched— did remove the steak from the bill and was apologetic, thoughtful, and handled the situation well. Additionally, the creamed kale was genuinely great, and the Caesar salad good as well.
Perhaps this was an off night, but there is no way I would return when there are so many better tried and true options for special occasions, even among Tyler Florence’s restaurants (e.g. Wayfare Tavern). This is a special occasion, glitzy, expensive meal, and I feel bad for people who spend a lot of money without knowing the poor experience they are likely to have.
Excellent "old school" steak house experience. Food was fantastic, staff was exceptional. Really great night. Could bring price-point down.
Late Christmas celebration. Food was excellent proportions and huge, totally unexpected. Service was excellent and everyone was great!
Excellent service and friendly staff with elegant atmosphere.
Needs more wine selections up to tis class
Christmas Eve dinner 🎄
The service was outstanding! The food was delicious! So glad we chose this place for out Christmas Eve dinner.
we had a great time on Christmas Eve. Food and service was excellent. get the Caesar salad made table side.
Excellent food and atmosphere. Special restaurant.
Steaks were outstanding (filet mignon and new york strip). Food presentation was lovely. We went for Christmas eve dinner. The coffee was terrible, I don't even understand how it could come out that way. Parmesan black truffle fries had no flavor. $65 corkage fee for bringing a 2015 Napa cab. Desserts were $20 each. I would definitely go back.
Parts of the steak were dry. Nothing beats wagyu but unfortunately this is not that type of steak house
This is by far the best steakhouse in San Francisco. All the ingredients were high quality and everything we ate was perfect. The staff is friendly and attentive and the restaurant is beautiful
We came here to celebrate my husband’s birthday and we had a wonderful time! The waiter was attentive and had a hilarious personality. I had the scallops and I don’t think I can eat scallops from another restaurant! They were cooked perfectly. My husband had the tomahawk steak and it was seasoned deliciously. The drinks were strong balanced, and smooth, so you felt they were worth the money. This place will definitely be our new special occasion spot and where we take people visiting the bay.
Wonderful dining experience.
Everything was top notch.
It was an amazing experience - and everyone made it a special evening. Thank you for the memorable occasion.
I know things are off in this industry because of Covid however, there we’re just misses when you are paying for a meal of that level.
Disappointing experience for first visit. Although this place is billed as a high end restaurant the ambiance is more at the hotel or Las Vegas casino restaurant level. On a busy Friday night the staff were plentiful in number but seemed to be overstretched regardless. It took some time to have a cocktail order taken. Drinks where good. Food was just average for this price point. There are better steak venues in SF so probably won’t return. The vegetarian option was a raviolo that looked more like something bathed in green slime. The steaks and desert were good. Wine list way overpriced.
We were going to the Metallica concert and chose Miller & Lux for dinner pre concert. Awesome! From beginning to end, everything was top notch. I had a glass of Champagne from the Champagne trolly. We had a the shrimp cocktail, then the Caesar made table side. Then we had an amazing steak, creamed kale and the fries with a side of the béarnaise sauce. Yummmm! Chef came to the table and other tables to see how everything was. It was a great meal and we will definitely go back. And, we have already started telling friends and family to go. PS: If you are going to an event at Chase Centre, you can head right in from the restaurant.
beautiful place gear food and service fun people watching. ♥️
Wonderful! Chris who prepared the Cesar salad for us is awesome!
