Taking the prices into account the food wasn’t good. It lacked some flavour and salt. It was not worth anything. The ceviche was good.
The food is great, but the portions are quite small for the price point of the menu.
Mira is a fine restaurant with inventive, tasty food, pairing unique flavours and textures. Everything we ordered was very good. The service was friendly and attentive. Unfortunately the 80’s hit parade music cranked up throughout the meal was obnoxious and distracting. I would think a ‘classy’ restaurant like Mira would be more creative and thoughtful in maintaining a more eclectic and mature mood. It is for that reason I would not return.
The restaurant had a lovely ambience and the kitchen produced some great sharing dishes that both me and my friend enjoyed. The menu was different and our server helped us navigate the many options. The ceviche was amazing!
A little expensive experience, good food just miss a couple of classic peruvian plates but everithing we proved it was good. The place and the ambient its great and good wine selection
Tasty food and very flavourful. I had a great experience. :) Thanks!
Fabulous night out at Mira with my husband. Love Mira - the location makes it so neat to walk to. Terrific decor, it reminds me a bit of El Catrin. Great vibe in the restaurant, but not so loud that it overpowered our conversation . Delicious and inventive food, attentive and fun server, fun music. A perfect night out.
We were seated by the kitchen so the ambiance was a bit chaotic. Always nicer to sit away from too much bustle. Hard to get server's attention at times. Super busy. He made great choice on our behalf though. Food was excellent as usual.
The bar server was excellent. Alex recommended spectacular dishes and surprised us with drinks he thought would suit us. Amazing experience, best service ever!
The 1.5 hr. Time limit isn’t enforced, so we had to wait for our table at the bar for 40 minutes until we complained and were given a table and a round of free shots for the wait. Having travelled a lot in Peru, eaten at cheaper Peruvian restaurants in Toronto, this didn’t cut it for the prices. The flavours were lacking in the meats, ceviche and tuna tostada were good but small for the price. The octopus (also small portion) had a sauce with cumin in it which seemed odd. The yucca frita came after we finished everything else and the green sauce served with it tasted like plastic. The space is very loud and the tables are crowded together. On a positive note, staff were very kind. Won’t be back unfortunately.
We ate at the bar. Super comfy padded bar stools. Food excellent for those who enjoy small plates of unusual and excellent offerings. Five stars for all the menu items we tried. Not inexpensive and as with many fine do restaurants in Toronto, wine-by-the-glass prices are insanely high. However in this place at least the chard was excellent and far above what I have found at similar prices elsewhere. I loved this restaurant and will go again often.
Just amazing! Great flavors and honest staff (dislikes, likes, and you’re ordering too much). Very relaxing, cool atmosphere!
Food was tasty and our server . SO AMAZING !! I think her name was Sam ? She was so attentive and on point ! I would be on my last sip of water and look over and it would be topped up . You can tell she’s been doing this professionally and understands hospitality. I’d come back and will recommend for sure !
The closest to Peruvian ceviche in the city. Well done!
This is one of the best supper we had. Amazing quality of food.
Waaay too loud in the lower area. Had to get moved to the section by the kitchen to avoid a headache and be able to actually enjoy the ambiance somewhat.
Great food and Great vibes. Will go again for sure
We were seated on the patio. Love the ambiance, very romantic with string lightening. Food was amazing, tapas style (expect tiny portions). I would highly recommend Mira. They did a excellent job of showcasing Peruvian food. The cerdo (sucking pig) and Mira ceviche were mouthwatering delicious!!! The pisco sour was also my favourite.
Excellent food and drinks. Priced a bit high though
The portions are very small and prices are very high. They recommend ordering 3 dishes a person, so roughly 60-75$ per person just for food. Half the menu is raw ceviche. I had the shortrib skewer, con setas (fried rice) and yucca fries. The shortrib skewer was nothing special. The con setas tasted like any other fried rice dish you could order from a takeout place. The yucca fries were amazing though The beer on tap is amazing (I forget the name). The music it pop hits from all the ages, which doesn't fit in with the theme (The Grease soundtrack kinda defeats the purpose of Peruvian Tapas). The front entrance is down a narrow alley lit with lanterns which is out of the way and intimidating. They have a door that opens right onto the main streetway, but instead that is used for the patio and you are not supposed to enter the restaurant that way.
The food is really good. The background music is a bit loud but it”s ok for Friday night gathering. Overall good experience.
Amazing food, drinks, music and ambiance!!! We’ll definitely go back again! ❤️
Outstanding service and great vibe and food - it’s a great spot to demonstrate the best of Toronto
Overall it’s a nice little place with good ambience and good music, food was good but very overpriced.
The service staff are wonderful. Food is really excellent.
Fabulous tasting food with beautiful presentation! Wonderful service too.
Absolutely amazing experience. We went there on September 18 to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Funny thing is, we didnt mention it until the end of the meal, but we were treated exceptionally well. This place is hip, trendy, but not pretentious. Cool vibe inside and on the patio. Food is absolutely exceptional. We did the chefs menu. It must have been about 7 or so courses.
All the dishes were great, but my wife really liked the seafood (salmon and ceviche).
We met the chef, and she was such a pleasure. Mentioned she's only as strong as her great team. That's authenticity.
Amazing experience, highly recommend.
Everything is fantastic! Definitely come back
The food was excellent. It is a little too pricy for the portions for some of the smaller dishes. The lamb shoulder, corn side and chocolate dessert were my favorite. The lamb was the only thing priced well.
Loved it. Loved it. Loved it. The ambience, the food, the service were all amazing! Would go back in a heart beat:)
Fantastic food! We sat on the patio and with the heaters on, it was very comfortable. We had the chef’s tasting menu and the food was perfectly executed! I’d highly recommend this restaurant.
Another great meal at Mira! Loved their selection of ceviches.
It's entrance is not on Wellington st. After u cross spadina Wellington st becomes dark and doesn't look like there is any commercial activity there. But restaurant entrance in in an alleyway, a wide and brightly lit alleyway though.
The sign for mira is also very small. (Its opposite a big sign saying ping pong)
Staff was very friendly. We sat in the small patio outside which had heaters installed.
Food was yummy and superb. The ceviches are amped up with great flavors and some give hints of nobu and zuma. Some of the food is spicy.
Definitely recommend the tuna ceviche and mango ceviche (more like a tart dessert though)
Beet salad was exceptional.
We had trout main with corn side. The corn was yummy.
For $15 I expect more than three bites of food. Crazy overpriced.
The plates were small servings, a tad pricey for the serving, however the food was great, ambience is fabulous. Our server was super nice. The best part for us was the music, it brought the whole evening together. Fabulous DJ, fabulous 80' s 90s music. Overall a great night.
Fabulous food, and good options to share or eat alone. Very good wine list and cocktails and amazing desserts.
The food was good, but overpriced, the staff was somewhat uppity and kept bumping into our chairs, and lacked some basic manners to say "sorry"
Chocolate egg for dessert was beautiful (and better than other places where we've had something similar). Lots of lovely fish dishes and beautifully presented.
Overall lovely date, however I would characterize the food as wanting. The ceviche was blamed despite all efforts to dress it up as some form of Barcelona tapas. The rib eye with cassavas was cold and was seared like a watery poached egg. The purple potato’s associated with this dish would have been easily eclipsed by cold fries at Jack Astor’s.
With all that said, the bartender was dynamic and engaging and I hope he lands on his feet after this review.
I took a friend there for her birthday dinner, and the whole experience was great. Our server was very progressional and personable, as well as knowledgeable about the menu.
We ordered an entree and 3 appetizers / sides and the we were nicely surprised at how filling the portions were. Finished off with the Cachangas Peruanas for dessert which was interesting but not my favourite. I would definitely go back to try out more next time!
