Hammer.
It was really good the meal, the service a little bad
Classic steakhouse experience. Food is high quality and served to your specifications. I have to say that my filet mignon was like cutting butter. Side dishes were perfection. Service was second to none!
The Cajun Ribeye was fabulous - pricey - but fabulous.
I have been opting for Morton’s as the place to celebrate my birthday for at least 20 years. Every experience was slightly different but I was always made to feel like I was in a special place that specialized in great steaks, chops, and seafood alternatives. This year, December 4th was different. I understand that the pandemic has had profound effects on all businesses, especially restaurants, but I did not expect to pay top dollar for a really disappointing meal.
I ordered the “Chefs Choice” bone -in, dry-aged, KC strip steak. What I got was a $75 piece of tough, beyond chewy, unidentifiable cut that looked nothing like anything resembling a NY cut strip steak, definitely not dry aged beyond several days, if not hours, piece of disappointment. Did I fall for the “Chefs Choice” ploy used by lesser quality restaurants. If so my bad, didn’t think I needed to be on guard at Morton’s. As for service, except for checking to see if we were enjoying our meal, which they did not, all else was good enough.
I will not be returning again, but as a once a year customer, they probably don’t care.
Came here with my friends service was horrible, our server had no personality and the food was okay (our steak was not cooked right, one of the sides didn’t come with the steak. It wasn’t a great experience but We loved the bread and the fries!
Very friendly staff!
Our experience was fantastic. The food was just about perfect and the service was even better thanks to our waitress Emmy who made our anniversary date extra special.
I ordered the dry aged sirloin. It was overcooked, grisly, and tough. I kept thinking that it wild get better but it was probably the poorest quality and worst prepared steak I’ve ever had. Mentioned it to the server and she just said sorry and walked off.
Horrible experience and bad for the brand. Morton’s used to be good.
They sat us at the very end corner of the dinning area. Near where the bus boys, food runners and servers were calling out and picking up food. I don’t think they should have a table set up in that area. I couldn’t even have a conversation with my wife because it was so loud from the staff calling out food and the cooks prepping. Food was great though.
We had dinner here before going to see a Christmas Carol, the food and service were amazing.
Great service and ambiance. Cajun spice ribeye is the way to go.
Family get together
Best lobster EVER! Filet mignon was so tender and flavorful! Drinks were excellent—good pours! Definitely pricey dinner but worth every penny.
If you can find somewhere else in San Francisco other than Morton’s to eat, go there! No attention to detail and we felt like our business really wasn’t appreciated. Generally we like Morton’s (and pretty much all Landry’s properties), but this location doesn’t seem to have the same concern for good customer service.
Slightly disappointed with our dinner last night. All 3 of our filet mignon's were way undercooked, the mashed potatoes were bland and under seasoned (and not creamy but rather lumpy) but the shoestring truffle fries were delicious as was the creme brûlée for dessert.
Our waitress was friendly but the service itself was lacking attention. The appetizer plates had not yet been cleared when they already brought out our main dishes, so we all had to juggle holding up our plates so they could put the steaks and sides down.
An underwhelming experience.
Been going to Morton’s for 10 years for our daughters bday. Called the restaurant 2x to remind them and they still forgot. Service was ridiculously slow and we were encouraged to order all drinks and courses at once bc the waiter didn’t know when he could come back. Then the steaks were mis-cooked but delivered by someone other than our waiter so we couldn’t do anything about it. It is sad, but we won’t be going back for her next birthday. Just too expensive for that type of experience.
The steak was excellent, but everything was a la carte which made it very expensive. The service was HORRIBLE.
Service was unexceptionable 3 hours and we canceled our dessert so we can leave to catch Uber ride home food was cold they told us that they ran out of turkey on thanksgiving at 6pm just not enough servers I felt sorry for staff just too overwhelmed never again for a holiday dinner
First Thanksgiving away from home. Morton’s was great as usual.
We enjoyed our meals, although two of us were disappointed that the kitchen had sold out of the turkey dinner specials. Nowhere in your website/social media posts say that we had to reserve them in advance when making our reservation, as they were apparently in limited supply. Our server had informed us of this policy, and she was very kind and apologetic that there were no turkey dinners left. We felt that this was Morton’s version of the bait-and-switch. Our steaks, soups, sides were tasty enough, not to mention our desserts, but the kitchen service was very erratic, and we ended up canceling one side dish order, which arrived way too late into our meal, among with the mushrooms that we never did order. I enjoyed what I ate, but I would prefer not to dine here for future Thanksgiving dinners.
The food was fantastic. We all enjoyed our steaks thoroughly.
Thanksgiving. Restaurants are always crazy on this day.
After we got our food we never saw our waiter or busboy again, except when I searched for him to get our bill. Will probably come back , just not on a holiday. Food was excellent. Didn’t like sitting downstairs.
Thanksgiving. Morton’s reneged on its agreement to provide turkey dinners. Although requested and affirmed when making the reservation, Morton’a informed that they had run out of turkey dinners after we seated in the booth. The manager neither offered nor provided any resolution or compensation.
Always a great experience and of course the food is amazing.
We had a delicious meal on Thanksgiving day. The steaks were cooked perfectly and the side dishes were excellent.
Great food and service. Too dark in the dining room.
Tuvimos una excelente velada festejando nuestro Aniversario y nos regalaron un postre muy bueno!
We were celebrating my husband’s birthday and excited to have a special night out away from the kids. We have been to Morton’s several times but this time was disappointing . The server seemed rushed to get us out of the restaurant and the food wasn’t very fresh and not worth the price. Not a good experience overall, unfortunately.
Service was extremely poor…
The customer service was excellent. Server was attentive and wonderful to talk too. Food was absolutely delicious, steaks were so tender and flavorful! Highly recommend Morton's.
Great food. A little expensive but very high quality. Our server Anni was fantastic. They even printed special menus for our Anniversary which was a lovely touch.
Friendly staff, delicious food, fun and special time
Very disappointed. We arrived with a reservation and a request for a booth or similar, like half couch. There were at least 3 booths vacant but the woman at front desk who assign seats refused to put us in a booth, even after verifying whether we requested a booth or not. 4 times we asked and finally we were put in the worse place in the restaurant. Right at the very high traffic area where all the servers and customers have to pass-by every few seconds. Where as the empty booths were by the wall on the far side, with privacy and virtual No traffic except if you sat there or server brought your food. But to our surprise they booths were quickly allocated to two people even though it’s seats 4. We were 4. There were still booth at the far side that were empty, even though they refused to seat us there. I have been here a number of times so this was bad to see.
So why did this happen? We looked at the factors that made sense and the only difference was that the older gray haired front desk woman and the two people she seated were white. And we were people of color. Again, the server assigned to us was so rude we had to ask for a new one. Guess what, the rude server was also white. As you can see, this place has a problem. This was my experience here.
This very bad experience here completely destroyed our day. We drove 60 miles to have a nice evening but it became a disaster evening. We did not complain, we sat quietly.
Finally how was the actual service, well the beef was not cooked right as we requested, then the server showed up once. Even after our meal, which we took to go so we can fix the beef at home, the server never came to ask or show us dessert list. This was really bad. Not a place to go under these circumstances, will never go there again. You really have a problem with your staff, you may not notice this but we the customers see it. We were very hurt and disrespected for no reason other than we were people of color. It’s management’s responsibility
