Moxie's Grill & Bar - Lethbridge
Will be back again
When for a birthday celebration. Everything was good.
Restaurant was clean and organized, food was pretty darned decent, and the staff... wow. So many staff. Honestly, I feel like we had 5 different servers tonight. Unfortunately, one of the servers was a bit forgetful and forgot to bring a water at one point, and a drink refill at another. They made up for it, though, with an extra piece of bread when requested. This isn't one of my favorite places to go only because the menu isn't "normal" enough for me - so I unusually go with a burger. This time, though, I tried a pasta dish and was pleasantly surprised (their zero-risk policy enticed me to try something different)! Overall, not bad.
This was our second visit to Moxie's and were not disappointed. Our group of four had a variety of dishes, all good. The Beef Vindaloo was very, nice to see the menu venturing into East Indian food - maybe add a couple more!! Minor disappointment was our Margaritas served in a glass that Scotch usually comes in with no option for frosted ice and not very good flavor.
We had a great evening at Moxie's. The waitress was great, right on top of things. 2 people in our group have food sensitivities and they were very careful with that, making sure that there was no cross contamination or anything. The atmosphere was lovely, overall a great dining experience!
Most enjoyable a great setting with great service and easy to enjoy conversationsd
While our meals were excellent, I didn’t appreciate the fact that our main course was brought out within minutes of our appetizer arriving. When I commented about this, the attitude of both servers was very nonchalant.... “you’re early so the food came out quickly”, etc. I don’t care if we were the only guests in the restaurant, there is no excuse for serving the main meal almost simultaneously with the appetizer. But more importantly, the attitude of the servers regarding this was unacceptable. For a lunch for two than rang up over $ 100 ( that included a couple of drinks), this is unacceptable.
In summary, this was a good example of 5* prices for 2* service.
Three of us. Seated in back away from noisier section. Food was awesome. Two had steak, one pasta. Service great! Two birthdays and had complimentary desserts which were amazing. Would definitely recommend?
Excellent food and atmosphere. Still missing some of my favourites that have been scrapped from the menu but overall, food and service were great :)
Food was just okay, but overpriced. Service was sooo slow and it wasn’t very busy. Not my favourite spot.
Good food. Enjoyed the patio and beautiful weather. Service was prompt and friendly. Always a pleasure to eat at Moxie’s!
We had a very nice time & will go again
Had a great meal as always!! We were in for my birthday dinner with my work friends and it was quite lovely, all the meals and service were great! We were in the lounge because I prefer that area.
My reservation got completely screwed up, service was poor, no coffee refills and 7 out of 8 bills were wrong and had to be redone.
Everything was great. I really liked being able to make my reservation through Open table. I felt like the cost of the meal was a little high, $14.50 plus tax and tip for a half-sandwich and soup lunch combo.
We were very disappointed that the advertised brunch menu was not available -- at the very least, the restaurant should contact us to let us know that the brunch was not available (at 11:30, it would be likely that people were expecting it). And the server was rather nonchalent when he informed us that a number of other tables were surprised as well. We should have been notified as soon as we arrived, rather than waiting until our drink orders arrived. I have often brought my office staff to Moxie's for special lunches, but don't think we will be back.
Super disappointed at the menu. A lot of the menu has changed and many favourites taken off (southern fried chicken sandwich, enchiladas, greek wrap). It's become a more expensive place (I notice all of the $30 meals still on the menu). Moxies has always been one of my favourites but I don't think I'll be rushing back any time soon. My steak was super fatty throughout and there was way too much sauce on the bread, the bread was soaked through. Very disappointed.
Nice location for dinner, great food, however a bit noisy on weekend nights
The waitress and all staff that we encountered on our visit were very friendly and provided excellent service. Food was delicious and cooked to our liking. A little pricey, with not much variety on the menu. We would go back.
There was a lot of smoke coming out of the kitchen into the restaurant! We didn’t realize the ambience they were going for was campfire. What made it worse was the manager using the excuse they had new burgers that caused more smoke. Seriously?? How naive you must think people are.
The food was amazing! Our waiter was great in the beginning but he got busy and we were left waiting for dessert.
Was there for a birthday dinner, Moxies staff did an amazing job in helping with the surprise party!!
A lovely Mother's Day dinner with my daughter and husband. Food was excellent although my daughter's garden salad was a bit disappointing being mainly lettuce. My fish tacos were great as was my husband's mushroom steak. And the sticky toffee pudding was amazing! Service was friendly and fast. I was a bit surprised though that even with reservations we had to wait about 10 minutes for our table..not a huge deal. Howeve, the pretty begonia plant that was given to each mother at the end of their meal was a very pleasant surprise!
We had a lovely brunch with my in laws on Mother’s Day. The food was excellent. I’m very sad they are getting rid of the brunch menu.
Restaurant was very busy but our waiter informed us of that and did his best to get everything out on time. Food was really good.
We had a terrible experience on a busy night. Someone lost or forgot our order. We waited for 45-60 minutes and finally had to ask what happened to our appetizers. Those appetizers finally came about 10-minutes later. But our meal never did come and after an hour and a half we asked for our bill and had to leave so we could eat else where.
What bothered us though was the attitude of the manager, who treated us with quiet indignation - like this was all our fault...! We won’t be back any time soon and feel the restaurant and management really le us down.
The food was good it was very loud but of
Course it was also very busy. There had some sort of burn smell through out with smoke did not understand why they stop using the fans on top but it did not bother us.
We went a little early before our reservation time but we were still seated right away. The service was great, the food was delicious! Thanks!
Everything was great!
Nice atmosphere, very quiet, good food, and services, recommend for any occasions...
Slowest service I’ve ever had at Moxie’s. Was disappointed when I left.
Table was not ready despite being a few minutes late for the reservation. Food was good, but service was slow in the lounge.
Their steak and roasted baby potatoes never disappoints, absolutely delicious food and tasty drinks! Perfect restaraunt for a date night!
Waitress was excellent Waitress was excellent Waitress was excellent Waitress was excellent
Good food and restaurant. We'll be going back again in the future.
I asked for a burger with no mushrooms and received a burger with some mushrooms on it. Was not very impressed, glad I caught it before I ate it since I am allergic. The Burger was delicious though.
Valentine's Day dinner with my wife!! Everything was perfect!!
It was great. Timing was excellent. Food was delicious All three courses.
Amazing server, awesome food and great music and atmosphere. Amazing valentine’s dinner!
Food is good. Small portion for expensive appetizers. $4.75 for half a glass of soda water with lime juice is a total rip off. Mango chicken was good. Steak was good.
