Nakama Sushi - San Francisco
Best restaurant ever ! Best staff ever ! Don’t sleep on this one
Nakama was an unexpected delight. We are always on the hunt for places to eat before a performance. This proved to be among the best. Delicious Japanese food, well presented. Will definitely be back.
fish is always fresh and delicious. service is on point!
The four in our party had most enjoyable time with dish after dish served from the extensive menu. The service was quite good, helped somewhat by a small crowd at the early hour we chose. The presentations were beautiful in the best Japanese fashion.
Fresh and inventive rolls. Nice ambiance and really great service
Food was good. Service at times was slow but not terrible. Convenient parking close by (walking distance).
Nakama is SO delicious!! The quality of the sushi is 10/10, it’s my favorite!! They also surprised the birthday girl with a slice of matcha cheesecake and a candle :D SO SWEET!!
I was so happy to see that Nakama was still standing after 2020 and all that came with it. I love to eat here before hearing music at the SFJazz center, which is a block away. It is a beautiful space that is very relaxing. Food is VERY good and service is excellent! The salmon tasting is one of my favorites. The Hamachi Toro Nigiri last night was excellent...wish I had room for another order!
Phenomenal sushi! The A5 Wagyu roll is exquisite, the veggie tempura roll is as well, honestly everything here is delicious! We always make sure to come here whenever we are in the city!
Didn’t get our order until 20 minutes after we arrived. Didn’t get served for 45-50 minutes - just appetizers. Had to really rush the meal in order to make the Symphony. Food was good, though, and service was friendly. Just our bad luck, I guess.
Great spot in Hayes Valley to experience authentic sushi before or after a show. Staff were efficient and friendly. Will go back.
Everything was excellent and beautifully presented.
The food was awesome! Very fresh and tasty! I will come back!
Super fresh fish and attentive service. Will definitely return.
Friendly fun izakaya like spot.
Beautiful sushi and top service
A wonderful sushi find- fresh, simple, delicious. Service was excellent. Ambience pleasant.
good, but overpriced food. Slow service. Took over 1.5 hours for us to get the Omakase which costs $98 per person. Other parties showed up after we got there, got their food and left before we decided to leave because we had to be somewhere else. The staff was nice about it, but I will not be going here again.
Decent middle of the road japanese food. Highly recommend the Omakase. Service is slow and understaffed. Restaurant is keeping the door open, so it's freezing cold. Bathroom door is janky.
Mid-level over priced Japanese eatery. We had a problem with gnats while eating
Excellence all around
Great neighborhood spot. Friendly and good value. Fresh fish
Great sushi! My hubby and I opted for the Omakase. Worth every Penny!
Excellent food, service, and ambience. Food was very fresh. Extensive food and sake menu. Traditional Japanese experience. Will definitely be back!
Excellent sushi. A great restaurant in every respect, intimate and friendly.
First time at Nakama and the service and food was excellent. We had to get to a show so they made sure to put our order in quickly.
The Omakase we had was an excellent 20-piece meal, and reasonably priced for the quality of the fish, dishes, and flavors. Whether or not it is the best, I cannot say, but neither do I think it matters. It was amazing. However, their smaller dining room and hardwood walls, ceilings and floors had the noise peaking at 90+ decibels. So while the food is high-caliber, I wouldn’t recommend the setting for serious discourse or luxurious expectations, though I do overall recommend
So much fun! Was a great birthday dinner with amazing food and service :)
Food was amazing and so was the staff! Great ambience, great service, amazing food
The food and service was excellent. Will be coming back soon to try more items on the menu.
Fresh yummy sushi and sake! What a gem! Will definitely be back....
Food is good and environment is quiet and intimate. Good for dates.
Super great food, service, ambiance. Loved it!!
Ben on a really busy night gave us a wonderful experience. The sushi was exquisite. The tasting sashimi and sushi menus were of the upmost quality and featured unusual types of fish that one normally can’t find. The sushi chef was a exceptional. A sushi artist really. Superb meal.
Benjamin our host was absolutely the best !!!! Very attentive, kind and informative...
The place was good, not hung special
Excellent place! Food was great (the Polar Bear roll was amazing), and we were well taken care of. Sat outside in the evening with the heat lamps. Will definitely go back!
Plenty of room between tables, attentive service and delish food. Definitely deserving of repeat visits!
The place looked to be slammed with take out orders and dining at the same time, but our seat down orders got lost in the line and we ended up waiting a long time for our food. Overall communication would have been nice but there was very little so we felt neglected
Fwb (friends with benefits) dinner.
The food was very good! Appropriate price as well. One downside is that it was cold and they did not have heaters around all of their tables.
