This was the absolute worst experience I’ve ever had in my life. I made our reservation and even confirmed my reservation last night when open table asked me to confirm. We showed up, the place was locked and lights were off. No sign on the door, no email to say the restaurant was closed. This was for my boyfriends birthday so you can imagine how upsetting it was to have it completely closed without notice.
We ended up at Nodo Leslieville, which I highly recommend.
Stay away from Neruda!!!
The restaurant is closed down without calling us. I even confirmed with them one week before. 12 people including hangry kids waiting in the rain and cold. This is unacceptable.
We went for brunch. Waitress recommended a dish which was brought out with no meat despite that it was a lamb dish, the lamb was not ready. The lamb was brought separately 10 mins later which consisted of 4 very skinny sausages. They did not charge us for the dish but added a mandatory 18% gratuity on everything including the dish we were not charged for.
Waitress did the best she could but was not supported by management in this difficult situation.
Delicious hanger steak and Cornish hen. Pleased with the evening and moderate pricing.
Wait staff was weird towards us and they turned off the lights during our dinner as they forgot we were there... strange.
The food was just OK (super bland Caesar salad; small fried calamari with lots of coating; undercooked oven baked potatoes; decent but nothing special beef brisket, OK but nothing special ribeye). The service was OK. The space was OK.
Although there was nothing wrong with the food or service, I had much higher expectations and so I felt let down by my experience. If I had to use one word to describe it all, I would say: bland.
The restaurant was quite empty, which was odd and seemed to lack the energy if a full, vibrant restaurant. The decor was quite nice, however, and felt like a downtown hit spot, despite its location in a shipping center on Lakeshore Drive. The food was tasty, but I needed to send back my Roasted Bone Narrow for additional heating as it was not sufficiently melted and soft. I ordered the Special, a Smoke Lamb Rib which was quite tasty but messy to eat. My husband got the Beef Rob which he enjoyed and my son got the Striploin. The asparagus was underdone but the Macaroni and cheese was tasty and very cheese. They gave us a Gift card when we paid which was very nice of the Management to do for us.
Huge restaurant...only four seatings at 7 pm on a Thursday. Sadly, Neruda is not long for this world.

It was awesome! We arrived about 11:30 AM and did not leave till after 4 PM. It was amazing!
The brunch at Neruda was a huge disappointment. First of all, it has taken more than 20 mins before we have a server. Secondly the food is all luke warm even with the buffet dish warmer (the bad news is - the flame went off!). The variety is lacking with that price range. I would not recommend anyone to go there.

I would rate their steak top 10 in the world since I have been fortunate to try some of the most famous steak houses in the world. Great service , 5 star steaks what else could you ask for !! Thank you

This is the worst restaurant !!! I booked a huge party on dec 29 at 11. They replied to confirm with me on the Instagram. We all arrived today at the door and nobody was there. The resultant is completely closed down !! No light and no employees!!! I tried to call them but no one pick up. I messaged them on Instagram and it shows “seen” and online m but they didn’t reply me at all. This is ridiculous. You know how hard for us to get her together with kids and such a huge party on a freezing rain day with kids sick at the same time.
They started turning on all the lights and it wasn’t even 11 pm. It got super bright, ruined the ambiance and feel of the experience.
We were there for a birthday. And ordered a lot, so it was not cheap. The least one can do is let guests enjoy their final moments of the evening instead of shoo-Ing them out with “hints” that it’s time to leave.
Steak was great but the homemade bread ($7) was definitely not homemade. Nice ambiance but they should separate people watching the game at the bar from those having dinner

We had an outstanding grilled lobster cooked on charcoal .The ambiance was amazing and the server she was friendly and knowledgeable.
The quality of the product is definitely superiors of what you will find in an average steakhouse . It was our anniversary and the Chef made a beautiful dessert platter. A memorable experience. Highly recommended.
Booked a table after hearing about their buck-a-shuck on social media. Seemed like a quieter place, but maybe that had something to do with the weather. Server was very friendly and food was phenomenal. Ordered a dozen oysters, their daily catch, and an aged ribeye. Will definitely be coming back to check out their weekend brunch.
Waitress was very nice however we waited an hour and a half for our meal complained and explained it was my bday and we were starving about it and the manger didn’t even have the decency to come over and apologize. Completely ruined my evening

All our food was cold, and not to mention it was freezing inside to the point where even their own staff were wearing their winter coats inside
The first alert was the visual booster juice right next to the main entrance of Neruda. Inside the restaurant was huge with many of unattended space. The feeling of the atmosphere was cold and unwelcoming. There was an overpowering odour of smoke mixed with burnt food. The food was extremely oily and fatty which were served in big portions as if they wanted to get rid of their excessive food. Everything in their menu was overly priced, with unnecessary extra charges for the side dishes. Also, there was not many choices. We saw few people leaving the restaurant with disappointment and frustration as we did too. The food was overly cooked and smelled like heavy smoke. The service was ok and that’s was the only reason we stayed.
We do not recommend this overly priced restaurant to anyone.

Another lovely night at Neruda. Lamb and Steak were excellent and dessert was Tiramisu which was also delicious. We will be back!
They have the same price point as high end steak house but the quality of meat is not even close to what you get at say Morton's or Barbarians. I pick up better beef at Loblaws then I got at Neruda. Food was salty and I would bet the 18oz ribeye is not even close in weight to what it states on menu. If I recall correctly, Bone Marrow $25.00. I got 4 teaspoons of liquid, No marrow, I was surprised the chef let it leave for the floor. Very disappointed with food. Service was fantastic, well trained but that doesn't make up for lack of quality product or inferior cooking skills. Not going back.
My girlfriend and I had such an incredible experience at Neruda Thursday evening. The service and staff were incredible. The food?! AMAZING, rich with flavour. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great evening out. Can’t wait to go back.

We went to this restaurant for brunch and were wowed. All the food was phenomenal (especially the pancakes and the steak & eggs) and the service was exceptional. We will definitely be returning and recommend that everyone try this place!

Neruda is a big restaurant great for large parties or special events. We had a brunch buffet that was fresh and filling. The servers are friendly. In the summertime, the terrace is fantastic and right on the beach. You feel like you are on vacation. The menu is upscale and a bit expensive but I haven't tried dinner. It's worth checking out.
Amazing time great food , the head chef was really kind he gave us suggestions on what steaks to get and he even made us his very own in house chimichurri. I would recommend Neruda to anyone and I can’t wait to visit again.
This was our first time visiting Neruda, and we will definitely be back soon. Our waiter Anesti was phenomenal, and such a pleasant man to speak with. The food was mouthwatering, we were more impressed with every bite, even the herbed potatoes were out of this world. I recommended everyone try this place at least once, you will not regret it, worth every penny!
My wife and I went last Wednesday for our 3rd wedding anniversary - I had booked though open table and notified them it was a special night.
We were greeted by Andrew I believe - nice young man - and he quickly gave us a nice private table by the window, followed by a complimentary rose champagne.
ordered a really nice mixed drink each to start off - old fashioned and margarita - then a nice bottle of cab-sauv Wade. we wanted a dry aged steak so went with the bone in rib. wife ordered the grilled octopus.
had the beef tar tare - very nice - suggested a little more onion and herbs, maybe a little vinegar too.
We were served a beautiful meal on a wood bock board, and to our surprise they included all the trimmings, cesar, broccolini, potatoes, black rice, bread, etc. was nice of them to put together a full meal for us so we could try almost everything - Including a wagu steak on top! -and all the deserts they had to offer.
We were thrilled - took about 3 hours and we enjoyed our time, food, wine and great service - definitely recommend - only some small words of advice, octopus portion was small, we were excepting Danforth size grilled tentacles, grilled cesar needs to be served warm and charred, but other then that great meal and experience.
Dry aged steaks have a totally different taste then what you might be use to - great flavour with the aged meat - nutty - not bloody - but still nice and med rare full of flavour.
Price is for fine dining; ambience is cheap bar. Service was okay and the food was okay but very pricey. Would not go back
