Black Cod with Miso
Shrimp Tempura Roll
Perfect fish, and birthday ice cream! Loved it all. Wonderful sake pairings
Great experience celebrating our anniversary! Server provided great recommendations and made it a special evening.
Food was excellent. Sushi, shishito peppers, beef....all really great. Prices are high for sure so value not quite there except for maybe special occasion. What bugged be a bit was how pushy the waiter was on upselling. First time I've experienced this there and it was with all of his tables in the vicinity: pushing the cocktail menu, encouraging add-on orders. I get that Nobu (and he) makes more money with larger check sizes, but does not seem consistent with the Nobu brand.
Food is amazing. Tried both seafood and vegetarian dishes. Don't know of any other place that can make vegetables dishes taste so good.
I have been to at least 15 Nobus all over the country and the world and by far this is the worst. It took an hour to get drinks for half the table. The appetizers came out an hour after that. Then we got bombarded with all of our food at the same time where the waiter could see there was not enough room on the table. It was the worst experience ever and I will not go back to the Palo Alto Nobu again.
Food quality is so-so, not bad but we expected more for the price they charge. Tables are so close to each other and noise level is pretty bad. Probably won’t go bad again. There’s plenty of Japanese sushi restaurants offer higher quality food.
Great food. ... service really slow !
Server described some dishes incorrectly. We had very long waits between courses. We were served two dishes that were not ours. Incorrect dishes were taken from our table, where were were unmasked, directly to other customers. Not what was expected from a Nobu Restaurant
Sushi Food quality was not as good as advertised. Overall good service and ambience - but not worth the price.
Went with great expectations - our first time at Nobu.
The yellowtail jalapeno was good but mainly about average as compared to other restaurants where we had the same dish.
The sashimi was mediocre and especially the saba was awful.
The prime filet was substantially oversalted.
Awesome food and service
Great service and ambience. We tried the omakase, it was a great value and high quality. Food was creative and tasty. I would come back again.
My 3rd Nobu. This is by far lower food quality and service than Miami & DC, but the same price. I have had mind-blowing meals at the other two. There were 6 of us. 3 of us got the Chef’s tasting menu. We all agreed it was decent, but not extraordinary, and not worth the price. Service was average, not what I would expect for what we paid. We had to ask what they were serving from the tasting menu. That’s a first. We were seated next to an open door and were freezing the whole dinner. They said they couldn’t close it. Save your money, and go elsewhere.
Amazing food, drinks and service
Very slow service. Was spending a significant amount of time looking for an available server. Half way through they changed servers on me. 45 minutes to get my daughter’s cocktail. We spent $2k on lunch. 2 wines I ordered were out of stock. The lobster tempura was not available so they suggested another lobster dish only to find out 40 mins later that too was sold out. I’ve been to Nobu in London, both in Mex City, San Diego, Vegas, Malibu and at least 20 times to the one in Milan at the Armani building. I won’t be going back to Palo Alto. I would have left a $1k tip instead left $200 but honestly, It was not a good experience and not worth the wait. Needless to say I won’t be returning
Great experience great drinks and great options
Good food good service and excellent service
We enjoy our dining at NOBU and I would highly recommend to our friends and family.
Wonderful experience. The tacos were particularly exquisite.
Food is great! Loved that Wagyu Taco 🌮 . Service was good but not great, I guessed she has a lot of tables to cover. Outside patio was ok , should probably chose inside. Just expecting better overall since it’s very pricey, we spent $600 for myself , wife and a teenager that barely eats .
I want to start out by saying the food was excellent. However I feel we were taken advantage of. We’ve eaten at Nobu In LA and Malibu many times. When we go we usually ask the waiter to bring out some of his favorite dishes and it’s always been an amazing experience. This time when we asked our waitress if she could bring out some of her favorites, I feel like she tried to rack up the bill on purpose. She picked some of the most expensive things on the menu, she brought out a bottle of sake (which is not a food item or something any of us wanted), and she brought out a ton of dessert (non of which I could eat due to my dairy and gluten allergies) when we very clearly said we were only interested in a couple sticky date cakes. We spent over $1000 for 3 couples and the men were still very hungry. The food took so long between bites (because we were literally only getting a bite of food every 15-20 minutes). I understand Nobu is on the pricier side, the food is exceptional, however this was way out of line.
Great dinner - Jerrell was great server - made the night perfect.
Ramon our server was AMAZING! He said he was still in training and was going live this weekend! So go to Nobu in Palo Alto to support new server Ramon! He had really great suggestions and was very kind!
Amazing food and service. Everything was delicious. The only thing I would note is that they limit the time to dine for an hour and a half. I felt a little rushed. I wish it wasn’t like that
First time going, food was pretty good. Server was nice and gave good recommendations.
We went last Saturday with high expectations as have been to NYC and Los Angeles Nobu's.
We were sorely dissapointed.
We didn't know if our Server was the Bartender, the waitress who originally came up to us OR the Manager (man in suit I presume Manager) or another Waitress. either they were coming up to us in droves or we could not "catch their eye" and waited. We were much longer there than we thought as service was slow and then fast and then slow.
1 Really annoying thing is PLEASE don't bring me the check as you serve me dessert. For an over $400 Lunch I expect you to wait until I ask for the check. Not okay to give it to me as you are serving me food.
Some was very good and should be for the price.
We ordered Lobster and Shitaki Salad and didn't ask the MP. It was $74. I don't mind that price but i do mind having torn off pieces of lobster; I'm sure less than 2 ounces of lobster with dehydrated shitaki mushrooms with some dried powder on it. There was a huge mound of lettuce 6 inches high though.
It was $40. We ordered and realized after we left, we were charged for it but never got it.
Delicious fabulous flavor good portion size.
Lobster Taco & wagyu Taco
were in dim sum fried wrappers. Lobster Was ok not very flavorful and very tiny portion.
Wagyu was delicious and very flavorful and overflowing from the taco
we had tuna. was good but not spectacular and charge was I think $12 a piece.
Delicious flavor and texture.
came clear water and we saw it was a tea bag at the bottom of the pot. this kind of tea should come with a pot of hot water as it takes 2-3 pours to get any tea brewed. We couldn't get their attention to get more.
were very good. a smoky Mexcal drink was really delicious.
To me it was like a high end coffee shop. I wasn't impressed overall
The meal and service were certainly not worth it in time and money.
Excellent food. Excellent service. Worth the experience ❤️
Not nearly as good as the Nobu in many other cities. They were out of many things on the menu including wine and all champagne. The waiter was all over the place - couldn’t open a bottle of wine!
The food and service was great.
It was fantastic!! The food was vibrant, cleaver, beautiful and delicious.
