Unfortunately i found the food lacked flavour, or the flavours were not quite right
Noir is one of our favourite restaurants in Melbourne. Been there a number of times and will continue to visit, the food is magnificent.
We had a lovely early dinner, some nice wine and good atmosphere. The service was good, attentive and well paced. The quality of the food was very good and serving size was good.
Excellent experience once again, will always comeback to this great French Restaurant
Excellent, service was great as was the food. Only one little negative, Red wine options were all very expensive, cheapest bottle $55 and next cheapest option was $75.
Been going to Noir regularly for years. The food is delicious, and the service is awesome. The ambiance is quiet and romantic, unless it gets crowded.
Had the fish pie which was outstanding and one or two excellent starters. Wine list was a little disappointing, with too few French wines for a French restaurant.
Overall a excellent place for a special night out
Would definitely recommend the venue and the food. The shared plate is excellent value
Amazing food. Best dessert I’ve had in a long time.
While this restaurant was not inexpensive the quality of the food, the service and the wine list more than justified the outlay. Nothing was any trouble and the service was understated but very professional
We went for a family celebration and it was just perfect. Thank you Noir!
DELICIOUS AND SATISFYING OPTIONS FOR THE TASTING MENU. WE WERE DELIGHTFULLY SURPRISED BY THE CREATIVITY AND THOUGHT OF EVERY DISH WE TASTED. WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK.
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Noir restaurant on 11 May (early sitting). Food and service was wonderful and we will definitely return for our 'French fix" again in the near future.
Usually I'm 5 stars across the board for Noir, but something was different this visit - service we okay, but not great. Food all still spectacular though!
Amazing value for the lunch special - $40 for 3 courses and a glass of wine. Delicious food!
Went for a quick meal on Easter Saturday. Dishes were beautifully presented (perhaps with the exception of the Steak Frites which was exactly as the name implies), with excellent flavours and textures. The standout desert was an apple and sultana soufflé. The fluffy top was subtly flavoured by the apple and sultanas at the base of the dish.
This was one of the best dining experiences I have recently had. The food, service and atmosphere were exceptional. The tasting menu was a delicious trip through the south of France. The food is exceptionally good for the price as well, I have paid over triple for a tasting menu which has been half as good as this. The parmesan gnocchi was the dish of the day, pillowy soft gnocchi in a delicate yet rich truffle butter sauce. I can not recommend this restaurant highly enough.
We came in for my girlfriend's birthday dinner and we weren't disappointed. The lamb was delicious and very tender and the pork was tasty and well presented. For dessert we had one of the nicest Creme Brulee desserts I've tasted. It was also a larger serving which was very welcome. All in all a very pleasent and enjoyable evening.
Food was the highlight. The interior is also great to be in. Mechanical service was efficient but not very welcoming.
Had a great night. Service was great as was the food. Nothing to complain about. Would come again.
Good quality food and wine with attentive service but overall, for what we had, it was expensive
A perfect place to relax . Quiet. Service outstanding. Food was superb and delicious
This has always been our favorite restaurant however we were disappointed this time. Something has changed in the service, food and feel.
We went for our anniversary and had the tasting menu. It was delicious and great value. The gnocchi was a highlight. The ambience was perfect and service excellent. Will definitely be returning!
Food and service spot on as always
Frequent this restaurant and always have the duck but have to say I’m not in love with the current beetroot accompaniment. Still a great restaurant though and I enjoy always.
Loved the food and the service was great.
Checked the website prior to the night and saw that it was byo but on the night was told it was not byo on weekends?
Then the bill had the wine at $15 more than stated on the menu. That lost them the tip!
Food was still fab!
Noir is a beautiful restaurant. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is calm. I'm a Richmond local and this is my favourite restaurant.
Great lunch special at $40 per person includes 3 courses and a glass of bubbly or wine
Great food, amazing service. We went for Valentine's day dinner, they had a 5 course set menu and it was a great selection. We requested the food to be ready a bit earlier as we had 8.15pm reservation and though it was super busy, they catered for it. Really good experience, great food, definitely will visit again.
Went for valentine’s night meal with a set menu for 100$. Total with drinks cost 280$
Some of the dishes were interesting (the oyster, the crab ravioli), other’s not so much (the main with beef and potato mash was smoked to death, and overall meal was room temperature), the pavlova wasn’t worked on to make it exciting.
Was expecting an almost gastro meal for this price but this was a high end pub meal at best. A bit disappointed
We had a fantastic dinner at Noir, the seafood pie is to die for! We will definitely be going back.
Loire food & wine dinner-food was fabulous & plentiful, wine pours interesting & generous. Overall a great night
The food was awesome and service was friendly and quick. We did the tasting menu and had plenty to eat. Everything was delicious, and the oysters and gnocchi were standouts for us.
Took my parents here before a concert at AAMI stadium, food was outstanding and the service was impeccable!
Highly reccomend the duck main...best dish by far that we ordered.
Will be back
Everything is fantastic and I highly recommend this restaurant. My only gripe however small is that we would have liked a bit more attention from the wait staff when we asked for the bill. Apart from that small issue everything was of the highest standards.
Nice French cuisine, love the environment , good service
Great food and ambiance, both the pork and duck were excellent. Will definitely return.
Third time here. Excellent all three times. Delicious food, prompt and polite service
This was a really welcome return visit to Noir. We’ve been several times in the past, but as it was a fine dining restaurant, it wasn’t a drop in sort of place. They have recently moved away from fine dining to more of a bistro feel - and I think it’s a great move. Richmond has needed a good French bistro, and this may just be it. Food was fantastic, and the prices were very reasonable for what we got. Good wine as well. I think if they balance some French classics (steak and chips, maybe throw in some escargots, a duck a l’orange) with some interesting newer French food, they will be onto a winner. We will certainly be back soon.
