The fish and service was excellent. I would say that some of the patrons were obnoxious but that is something that the owners can't control. Overall, I would return for the food.
Excellent quality fish. Would go again.
The experience was great. The service and hospitality was so gracious, and the food was amazing. I will definitely be bringing friends next time I come in.
Good atmosphere with sophisticated edomae sushi. We enjoyed Japanese sushi counter very much in Chicago.
Chef Park and wife Kim provided us with an outstanding meal and one of the most memorable meals we have ever had. We are coming back in June.
It was quaint, quiet, courteous and above all worth every penny. The Chef the Servers all deserve medals for kindness and efficiency. The food was spectacular. The pace mellow and relaxed. I loved it! Will be coming back! Thanks Omakase Yume! I RETURNED WITH MY BROTHER! And it was just as amazing, consistent, attentive and peaceful. You can't go wrong with place where the Chef is focused and Servers are spot on. There are many points to love about Yume but I'll stop myself. One thing my brother and I can say for certain, WE WILL RETURN TO YUME!
Meal was 370.
It was 600
Bc the add on items from the main menu were 230 dollars.
The food is incredible. Must try!
Very expensive for the amount of food that was served, but the quality was top-notched.
Intimate. Luscious. Watching an artist at work.
Superb sushi and great service in a very intimate sushi bar setting. The omakase menu is reasonably priced, but the specials can add up. Ample street parking in the area.
An incredible experience at Omakase Yume. Chef took great care and appreciation for each course and you could taste it in the fish. Thoughtful and engaging staff. Will come back again and tell everyone about with wonderful omakase option.
We were excited to go and celebrate a birthday. The food was really good, but expensive for what it was. The restaurant was very sterile. No music or cool vibe. A couple walker-bys came in and opened the door to check on availability which instantly brought a massive cold draft into the restaurant. The chef was nice, but wasn't super engaging. They also have an a la carte menu which is overpriced and some of those items should have been included in the omakase ordering. Glad we tried it, but there are better omakase options in the city.
I have eaten at many sushi restaurants. The sushi was slightly above average, the portions were small. The overall value terrible. Save your money. The atmosphere was very quiet and just felt weird (and I usually like weird). I was hoping for so much more.
Absolutely incredible. Worth the wait!
Thanks again for everything and all the help to Kate to plan our engagement. Everything from chef, Kate, and the support staff was the best ever! I've never had any sushi even close to that excellent. See you guys soon!
What an amazing experience! The sushi was some of the best I have ever had, if not the BEST! Service was impeccable. Absolutely nothing to complain about! Bravo Omakase Yume
Amazing experience! I am in the industry and chef was happy to talk, in detail, about each course. Overall a great place for a special occasion.
Came here for a birthday - the food was amazing, quiet atmosphere and friendly staff. Would highly recommend for a special occasion or event.
Some of the best sushi this side of the city!
What a delightful experience with amazing ingredients. This cute 8 seat tasting menu is perfect. Chef Park and his wife offer beautiful dinner experience. There’s a unique assortment of fresh delights and a great assortment of sake, beer and white wines. Do your self a favor and get the first reservation you get. It’s worth the wait and the mula.
Best sushi I have had in Chicago to date, hands down.
If you have an opportunity to dine here, immediately seize it. Truly, a wonderful experience. It felt like we were sharing a meal with friends, and it was a privilege to watch someone in action who has spent countless hours honing his craft. Can't wait to return.
WOW. If wow could even do justice to the amazing meal we just had at Omakase Yume. Every piece of nigiri was absolutely delicious. Chef SangTae Park finds this beautiful balance of flavor as every ingredient he adds enhances and highlights the fish. I love how Chef’s wife will give us additional information on the fish and the ingredients Chef uses, as well as additional information as to why Chef approached the technique in a certain way or used certain ingredients. Thank you Chef and the Omakase Yume team for an amazing meal!
Best sushi I’ve ever had. Overall an amazing experience. Would highly recommend!
Came here by myself and really enjoyed every single dish on the menu (the fish and rice both). Honestly I think it's better than all the omakase places currently in Chicago.
An exceptional experience to be right up front watching the chef prepare each course. This is an intimate bar seating for 8 people and currently offer byob at no corkage fee, they are pursuing a liquor license. The only suggestion I would have is to have some background music.
Some of the best sushi we've ever had. It comes with a steep price, and add ons are also extremely expensive, but we are none the less glad we decided to dine here. It's a very authentic experience and the food was incredibly delicious. Just don't be surprised when the bill comes.
This was an out-of-this-world experience. What an amazing display of creativity and virtuosity.
The selections of seafood was wonderful and the service was excellent.
Excellent food and service. Best sushi I’ve ever had and I’ve been to many sushi places all over the country. It’s expensive but well worth it!
Omakase Yume is a great experience. Chef Sangtae does a wonderful job and this restaurant is truly his dream come true. The flavors were great and each course was something special.
Chef does a great job sourcing his fish and ingredients so each menu will have some variety (hence the omakase name).
I highly recommend it.
Absolutely phenomenal meal, one of the best my wife and I have ever had in Chicago! Sadly I think this meal might have ruined sushi for us in the future because this definitely set the standard. We had a great group of people as well and Chef Park opened up as the meal went on. Would highly recommend.
WOW!! Really don’t even know where to start. Everyone from start to finish is incredible. The ambiance is perfect and so accommodating. I used to live in NYC and Los Angeles where I had my fair share of sushi and this blow every place out of the water. The sushi is meticulously prepared with chef’s own inventive preparations. The fish is so fresh and Chef and Marie do a wonderful job explaining every detail of every dish. Marie even showed us “behind the scenes” photos of fish, preparation, etc which was really beyond expectations. Not that this place needs any help with getting people to come but the second you are able to get a reservation, do not hesitate to book it. Worth every penny and more! The 8 seater bar is also fun to get to know new people - both couples sitting to the left and right were so enjoyable and made for a very fun night out!
This is a special sushi experience. The Chef is very skilled and hand selects all his product. Even comparing this restaurant to some of the top sushi spots in Chicago (Juno, Momotoro, Doku), this one takes the cake. Its a very inmate setting. Don't be shy to order off the alla carte menu as the tasting menu service wraps up - there are some unbelievable offerings on there, specifically for us the uni, wagyu, and anago (eel). The salmon (sake) and the amberjack on the tasting menu were some of the best pieces of prepared sushi I've ever had.
BYOB also helps alleviate the hefty bill a sushi lover will rack up. We opted for Narutotai, an unpasteurized sake, which paired with the majority of the menu pretty seamlessly.
Excellent omakase experience! Worth the price. It’s BYO so bring your favorite sake or wine. :)
Anniversary dinner made special with this high quality food, served with extreme care and respect for great dining.
Amazing experience! Very intimate setting as there are only 8 seats in the restaurant. The chef makes each piece of sushi right in front of you. The sushi itself was delicious and definitely the freshest sushi I have ever had. Highly recommend trying some of the specials. We loved the wagyu which had a lot of marbling and thus flavor. The only downside to this place is they make you wait outside before being seated, which was definitely not ideal on a cold October night.
Korean omakase. Not a Japanese omakase. The flavours are masterfully blended and tend to be on the stronger rather than subtle side. A good balance of savoury without being salty.
