Opa! Santa Clara
Food was good but served cold (soap) and not warm enough (main dishes). It seems it stayed on the counter too long.
On previous visits it was as it should be
The food was very good. My chicken kabob was a little dry, but the rest was tasty. I didn't hear any complaints. The service was wonderful. We enjoyed sitting outside and most of all felt safe in our environment.
Excellent Greek food! The appetizers were excellent such as Opa Fried, Zuchini cakes, lemon chicken soup, and favs bean hummus with pita bread and olive oil. Fish entrees were o.k. Greek red and white whines were great and the prices were great, too!
The beef skewer was tough and difficult to chew/cut but the rest was quite delicious. The order the food came out was not standard. One custom entree came out before the two starters and one starter came at the end of the meal. The moussaka had to be sent back because it arrived cold but was delicious after. We LOVED the patio and the quiet atmosphere. The staff was very nice just maybe a little green. Will return when wanting Opa! cuisine for sure. They initially didn't give us the brunch menu which is why we went there (12p reservation) so remember to ask. :)
The steak was overcooked and chewy other items on the pan where shriveled up
Went on a Friday night. Service was incredibly slow; food was cold; server had to be asked twice for check. Noise level really high. Not a very pleasurable experience.
We were seated inside but no one even came to take our order until I went and asked for one after 15-20 mins. Food was awesome but service was very bad
My husband and I met a dear college friend of mine and her daughter for dinner and a chance to visit. We have not seen each other in 38 years- we live in CA and they live in OR. They were on a road trip and made a stop to see us. Another friend of mine recommended OPA! and we were very pleased!! It completely met my expectations. It was a wonderful reunion.
If you are looking for good Mediterranean food with good ambience, this is your place.
For a place that is Greek and supposedly known for lamb it was very chewy, and we asked for it to be served as to the chefs recommendation. The “Greek nachos” you could break your teeth on the pita pieces, and it was just smothered in yoghurt. The desserts were lovely and the service was good
Very good service very reliable food well managed restaurant from what I can tell
We had a lovely meal with wonderful attentive service from Horacio. We will be back very soon!
Great food and service
-Waiters not sympathatic, not accomodating.
Reserved table for 4 pp @ 7pm to be sitted outside. Waiter seated us at a table literally next to the bushes, and as it was evening time, there were also hoards of small flies on the bushes that were right next to our table. Asked to change table to one that was next to the wall/building (about 10 ft from the bushes), but waiters said that table was for 6 people. But that "table" was literally 3 small tables with 2 charis to each placed side by side! (They could have reasily removed 1 small table with the 2 seats to make it a "table" for 4), but chose not to. They did however offer inside dining for us, but since we were not fully vaccinated, we prefer outdoor dining. In the end, we decided to stay put, but all the while during dinner we were swatting flies away from our face and food. VERY ANNOYING. But what's even more upsetting was all the while we were there for 1.5 hrs eating, that table next to the building/wall that we originally requested to moved to, left unseated. It was still empty when we left at 8:30pm. Waiters would rather left that table empty than seat us there.
-Skewer burnt on the outside and cold inside.
Ordered 'Opa! Saute' dish and food was not warm. Skewers were burnt and charred outside but inside the meat was cold and slightly raw. (I ordered medium rare but it is the worst medium rare I have ever eaten in a restaurant.) I am a good cook, and I instantly know what the problem was. The fire was too big, causing the outside to burn quickly without the inside a chance to heat up evening to cook through. This shows no skills in the chef in grilling meat. Saute vegetables should be hot, instead it came cold, doesn't taste good.
For the amount $$ we paid for each dish, portion and skewer was meager.
Overall, we did not enjoy the food and service there, and will not recommend anyone to this restaurant.
Our server Juan was outstanding!!! I appreciated his lesson on how to use the app to view the menu! We are seniors so he patiently demonstrated it to us!. He was very pleasant and attentive. 5 STARS for Juan!
Haven't been out to eat in a long time, so I was excited to head out to Opa! with coworkers for lunch. Service and ambiance were great, and even the weather was perfect. I ordered the Falafel Pita sandwich and was very disappointed with the falafels. They were gummy and dense, almost like they weren't cooked through. Thumbs down on the food.
Pleasant early dinner we will be back
Took a very long time for the food to arrive, even basic items such as tomato ketchup took over 10 minutes
Took almost an hour to get our food
Was lovely to sit on the patio. Only issue was I ordered the Greek village salad and after picked out all the red onions, I was left with half a bowl of bell pepper strips and cucumbers. I honestly had close to an entire red onion in my salad. The staff immediately took my plate of picked out red onion and provided me a separate bowl of tomatoes and cucumbers to replace my pile of onions, no questions asked. So I appreciated that.
This is my second visit to this restaurant & this location specifically. We were seated quickly, we were served waters, orders were taken about 10 mins later, appetizers came about 10-15 mins then right as we finished them, our main dishes came right away! We were very pleased with the service all around.
Aside from the service, the food was delicious!! Definitely ordering the veggie flatbread again sometime.
Took my family here for Mother’s Day and we were very disappointed. Service was very slow. We had reservations and were sat on time. Took 15 minutes for someone to take our drink orders. First appetizer came out after 50 minutes and it was cold. I complained to the waiter and he said he brought it to is as soon as it came out of the kitchen, and was not his fault. The next appetizer came out 10 minutes later and was hot. The rest of the food came out and were just warm, not hot. But by that time, we were not happy with the service and lost interest in the food. Very disappointed and wish we went to another restaurant. We took a late lunch so it wasn’t as busy, but service was still slow.
We had a good time, our server was nice and friendly but we had a small issue at the Begonia our visit, a person working in the restaurant was very rude and short with us. He wanted us to sit at a table with lots of sun (my mom has a skin condition and cannot be exposed to direct sunlight). We explained this to this man but he refused to give us a different table (even though there were many available). We ended up eating inside the restaurant. I understand that sometimes there are reasons why you cannot accommodate someone’s requests but we had 2 older ladies with us (my mom that’s 75 and her friend of around the same age). People that work in the restaurant business need to be able to try to accommodate older people’s requests.
Very good food.large servings.Very good service. The flaming appetizers are very fun and tasty!
In the heart of silicon valley surrounding a lot of tech companies. Great for a business meal or team building.
Great patio outside to eat with plenty of space to feel comfortable.
The food is good, but it's not traditional Greek food.
Food was good but the heater was too high up in the ceiling! Outside dining was too cold. They need to invest on heater lamps closer to each table so guests can be comfortable while eating and not freeze to death.
They wouldn’t let us sit Call at a table with heat lamps. We were with two elderly and they were freezing cold. There was a table open the whole duration we were there under a heat lamp but they wouldn’t let us sit there.
Great place overall
Service is very slow
Wonderful experience, safe outdoor environment and excellent food.
Always great service and good food at the Santa Clara location.
Very good. Drinks could have been better, but it was still a great restaurant and experience
Great service and great portions. It was a bit chilly outside.
Food was very good, worth visiting once if you haven't tried. Ambience was beautiful and enjoyed sitting inside for dinner after a long time
Everything was very good. The fried cheese (saganaki) is always a good and festive choice with a group of people. Prices were pretty reasonable. Very nice that they allow you to bring wine with little to no corkage fee, which helps to keep the overall bill down. Opa is consistently a great place to eat.
Thank you for making my husband's birthday dinner special! Our services Nestor & Jose we're so awesome! They kept checking in on us to make sure everything was good. We'll definitely be back with our family.
Great food. Great restaurant
Our waiter was amazing! I wish I got his name. The food was delicious, can't wait to come back!
