Optus Stadium - Goodwood Restaurant
Very nice experience in a lovely restaurant with comfortable seating slightly spoiled by the unrestricted sunlight
Our visit was with a group prior to an AFL football match. Everything was great. The only downside was the sun shining into our eyes in the late afternoon.
the day started with good service, great food and friendly staff
This was my first experience at Goodwood. Totally enjoyed it. The service was outstanding as was the food. I had the pasta with mushrooms and caramelised onions. OMG delicious. The only complaint is they don’t have doggy bags. I can’t eat much but was still happy and will return 💜💚❤️
The setting is spectacular and the food is very good. It's a great place to be before an event at the Stadium.
The wine list is quite reasonable and the maitre d is excellent. The rest of the wait staff seems very pleasant and helpful, but not very well experienced.
Overall, a very pleasant experience which I now repeat before every footy match.
Who would have thought you could have fine dining at the Footy? And with a glorious outlook onto the Swan River! An a la carte menu with plenty of choices allows you to have as little or as much as you want. A great wine list to compliment your food choices & friendly staff make for an excellent precursor to watching your favourite footy team with only a 5-10 minute walk to your seats from the restaurant.
We believe this is the best restaurant we have been to in years and the food is excellent.
We will be back.
We will recommend to all our friends.
And we look forward to you being open 7 days a week.
Tried to load a photo but it didn't work
Great experience and wonderful food. Service was excellent and having a window table was perfect. Thanks for a fabulous afternoon meal before the game.
Super friendly staff
A beautiful setting for a pre game meal. The food was well presented and tasty and the staff were attentive without being too intrusive. My highlight was the rhubarb dessert, however to be fair all plates presented on the day were very good. My only complaint was we tried to book a later time for our meal on line but were told no tables were available, but the restaurant was no more than half full the whole time we were there.
Food was ok. Fish a lil raw.
Service great. Went during AusvNZ game
Awesome venue and a great way to see the footy
The staff were excellent and the food was great
twice have dined here been excellent both time told fellow employees this morning
Loved it! Our waitress Kate was lovely!
The food and wine was well above our expectations and to be able to relax and enjoy lunch right beside the stadium was fantastic. We booked for the following fortnight!
We went prior to the footy and the service was excellent. One of our diners had an an issue with overcooked steak. The staff were excellent and gave us a taster complimentary dessert.
Very relaxing dining, great view, excellent service. A great way to relax before the footy.
A great night... fabulous food and wait staff.
We would definitely recommend... wish the restaurant was open when there was no events!
Surprised and delighted at the standard of comfort, service, price and food.
Amazing views, impeccable service and excellent food. I would make the Goodwin a must for any of my future Optus events.
A fabulous Restaurant, good food and service - faultless
The ambiance was great, great views, very relaxed, food was nice, loved that there were olives and crusty bread already on the table
Pre match meal
I don’t think we would come again. We REALLY liked the 2 course special you used to do.
Now that I try goodwood and city view, I love the outcome of goodwood- staff following up, food was great & fresh, pricing is what you would pay for!!
Such a pleasure. Look forward to going back! even without an event
We attended the state of Origin match, we arrived at the Goodwood Restaurant, the greeting was great, staff during the visit were excellent, food great, best steak we have eaten for a long time. The only drawback was the sun but I had a cap so that helped. We will look to attend the Goodwood when next in Perth.
Amazing food, wonderful staff. Definitely recommended
A great restaurant, probably a bit much for the footy but any other time it would be wonderful.
Really enjoyed the food, took us a little while to get our first drinks, but after that service was good.
Exceptional service, delicious food, tasty wines. Superb views. The furniture is a little on the heavy side.
Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience at the Goodwood Restaurant. 5 star silver service. The food was just divine. The views....well we spent the first 15 mins taking photos! Kate was ever so friendly and engaging - in fact all the staff there were just superb. Been a while since we've been to a restaurant that made us feel so welcome, so special and so respected. Looking for any excuse to go again.
Very good service and food. Returns itself was very nice with a beautiful view. A little bit pricey but overall a great experience.
First time at Goodwood and enjoyed our meal. Staff happy to answer any questions and ensure we were looked after
Very disappointed that there was not a kids option on the menu.
We booked out table 1 hour and 25 minutes before the game to allow enough time as to not rush our meal. Our first order of drinks order that arrived were completely the wrong drinks. After the error was corrected we ordered and entree each and a side to share, with the plan to order a dessert later. A while after finishing our pre-entree we were delivered a second pre-entree which we explained we had already been served and, even though the restaurant was only 1/3 full, we had to wait so long for our entrees that we ended up rushing to finish. (The food order that eventually arrived was also slightly incorrect, with 2 sides delivered instead of one, but we didn't bother correcting it as we had become tired of calling up the errors in our orders.)
The food itself was wonderful, but the service was full of mistakes and way too slow for a restaurant attached to a venue where it has to be assumed people are expecting to be finished in time for the event they are there to attend.
Our table of 6 are regular diners at Goodwood pre football. We recently had a hiccup with our meals. Joanne and her staff did a terrific job in ensuring our experience was back on track smoothly and professionally, 10 out of 10.
We will be back.
Overall, I would go back.
Staff were great. Very friendly and bright, refreshing. Service was professional.
Food....some improvements for sure. Serving size, ample, delivered on menu description. Price was on par for Perth, not the cheapest meal you can buy. Entre’ of Oysters should have had shards of gold in for it to be value for money.
Will try again in the future to see if things have changed.
I think it's probably a little over priced for the crowd attending. Food was OK, the Panacotta was very average. Been last season on several occasions and rated it better then.
Sadly wait service not up to scratch. Wine and food orders either forgotten or muddled.
The views and ambiance were outstanding. The staff delightful. The overpriced, self indulgent food not so much. I get the whole, "small amounts of superbly cooked food at extortionate prices" thing, but small amounts of ordinary, nothing special about it, over-priced food is just ridiculous. Our mains was the 'buttermilk chicken' If I was blindfolded and fed this I would have guessed it was chicken treat, not one thing special about it, even the swish of Jus I am sure was just Red Rooster stock standard gravy. Two blades of asparagus and a 'char grilled' not much bigger than a 50 cent piece, bit of Aubergine, doesn't for gourmet make.
'Shaved' Wagyu Beef just means that you won't be getting much beef for your buck. 12 peas, yes 12 peas accompanied the beef. Now unless these peas were hand picked by blind grandmothers in the hills of Sicily, by my reckoning you can get a couple of kilos of frozen peas at Woolies for a mere few dollars, so for the love of food, unleash the peas Chef, unleash the peas.
The only thing in abundance was the teeny, tiny, miniature, baby snow peas shoots which were precariously perched on all three courses. The panacotta was delicious.
While I know the world is full of people with much more money than sense that would never dream of complaining at the risk of sounding like an 'unsnob' but this black duck does not enjoy spending a lot of money on disguised ordinary food to only have to spend more on a burger and fries to feed the biting worms after dishing out the dollars.
Glad I went but learnt my lesson and wouldn't go again.
